Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:The boy beneath the ashes

The wind howled through the slum cold,

sharp, bitter like the laughter of gods and on a Lonely hill of rusted scraps and rotten woods a boy stood motionless.

His hair was snow white, glowing beneath the dying sun and sky.why his eyes were pure black deep, endless, and hollow, like the abyss itself.

Far in the distance, across the wasteland and the poisoned river the great castle of the mystique Clan shimmered in silver light.

The place that never took him as one of their

Own.The place that took everything away from him.

There was no hatred in his eyes.

No sorrow.

Only emptiness… as if he were reminiscing about a memory that refused to fade.

"My dear Luna..."

A boy was seen kneeling on the cold ground, his trembling hands cradling a girl with the same snow-white hair and abyss-black eyes.

Her body was growing colder by the second, a horrid wound carving deep into her chest — yet her eyes still shimmered with affection and warmth.

"Cough... cough... My dear Crimson..." her voice was weak, trembling with the final threads of life. "I guess... my time will soon be up."

Crimson's hollow eyes quivered, and for a brief moment, pain flickered within them.

"Why… why?" he screamed, his voice breaking. "What did we ever do to deserve this? Is it because we're talentless?!" His words trembled into fury. "Is it because we have no affinity for anything?! Just tell me whyyyyy!"

Luna smiled weakly, her blood-stained hand rising to touch his face.

"My dear Crimson… the world has always been this way. Cruel… unchanging."

Her breath hitched, but her gaze softened. "But I know you'll achieve great things one day. I know it in my heart."

She coughed again, a trickle of blood sliding down her lips. "Just promise me... when that time comes… you won't let your heart rot with revenge. If you can… leave vengeance behind. Don't let your soul become as dark and twisted as this world. Do you promise me that, my sweet sugar pie?"

Her trembling fingers pressed gently against his forehead.

Crimson's voice cracked. "...Yes. I promise."

A faint smile graced her lips. "Good… then... goodbye, Crimson."

Tears welled in her fading eyes. "It's unfortunate we met in such a cruel world. But if there's ever a next life… I hope you'll still be my brother."

Her hand fell limp.

"Luna… Luna, wake up! Talk to me!" Crimson's voice broke into despair.

But there was no answer.

In that silent moment… something deep inside the boy's heart shattered.

As he was remincing this memory.

Faint footsteps echoed, and five children — three boys and two girls — emerged. Their clothes were tattered, bodies frail, eyes hollow. No trace of happiness lingered.

"Was everyone able to get something to eat" Crimson asked his back never turning back.

"Yes, fortunately. Everyone had something to eat… but some didn't make it from the trip," one of the boys replied.

Crimson's eyes locked on The boy who just answered. Alister "Who?"

"Ryn, Lio, and Tam," Alister Replied. "They went to find medicine for the sick… only Lio returned."

"But he…"

"He what?" Crimson's voice was low, cold.

"You'd have to see for yourself," one of the girls name seraphine replied, her voice calm and detached.Crimson's eyes narrowed.and he hurriedly walked past the group and dey in turn followed him quietly.

The scene of a slum could be seen under a gray, biting sky. Cold wind moved violently taking with it twisted scraps and broken wood, that cut through every exposed inch of flesh seen.

A boy crouched on a pile of debris, knees pulled to his chest, eyes hollow and empty, staring at the frozen ground. His fingers were blue from the chill, and his ragged shirt did nothing to stop the cold.

Nearby, two younger children huddled together under a tattered blanket, shivering violently. Their older siblings wrapped their arms around them, trying to offer warmth, even as their own bodies shook uncontrollably.and on a mound of trash, a girl sat with her face pale and gaunt, lips cracked from hunger. Her vacant eyes reflected the world's cruelty — talentless, powerless, forgotten.

Elsewhere, smaller children clutched empty plates to their chests, crying softly, rubbing their stomachs. "Why… why me? Why was I born into this world?" one screamed. "What did I do to deserve this?"

Even those who had eaten were thin and silent, eyes hollow and haunted by the cruelty that cast them aside. The world valued only the gifted, leaving the powerless to rot in the cold.

Crimson passed through the slums, the others followed closely behind him. His eyes were calm, cold, and observant as he saw all this, but if one looked closely, a deep sadness flickered within them.

He continued forward, stepping over debris and frozen puddles, until he reached a place where a crowd had gathered. They huddled tightly together, as if shielding something… or someone.

The air seemed to thrum with quiet tension. Crimson's gaze swept over the crowd, taking in the forms beneath the gathering — and something in his chest tightened.

Crimson stepped through the crowd, the others following silently behind him. The crowd instinctively parted to make way.

Recognizing it was him, all gazes turned his way. Some looked at him with respect, while the younger ones watched with reverence.

To them, he wasn't just a leader — he was their comforter, their light in the dark.

When Crimson reached the center of the crowd, what he saw made his blood run cold and unleashed a wave of searing anger from deep within.

Lying on a thin, filthy sheet, barely clinging to life, was a very young boy. One of his eyes had been gouged out, leaving a dark, hollow socket that stared blankly at nothing. His hand was twisted in a grotesque angle, fingers bent and broken as if they had been crushed under some monstrous force.

His body was a map of torment — jagged stab wounds crisscrossed his torso, burns marred his skin in angry, blackened streaks, and deep bruises swelled across his limbs. In places, the flesh had been ripped, leaving raw red patches glistening under the dim light.

Even his clothing had been shredded, soaked in dirt, blood, and something darker. Yet, somehow, against all odds, the boy breathed, each shallow gasp a whisper of pain and suffering that no child should ever endure.

The sheer scale of cruelty — the inhumanity of it — made Crimson's chest tighten, his fists clench. The world that had allowed this, that had trained cruelty into its people it was too disgusting to even think about.he was disgusted at this world and it's people.

Crimson crouched in front of lio.seeing crimson lio burst into tears my.thank
