Azariah Indrath.
That was the character Yuito had transmigrated into.
In the game, he was the bodyguard to Alyssa Indrath, the second princess of the Indrath Clan.
The problem was…
He was supposed to die later in the story alongside Alyssa, who was a villain.
By blood, Azariah wasn't even related to her but on paper, he had been placed as her brother to enroll in the academy.
The next problem was…
Unlike Alyssa, Azariah was not blessed with the same plot armor in the story. No, he was dismissed far too early.
And there was a sufficient reason for that too, as the other clans' heirs seeked to target her without any problems.
Since Azariah was not even a direct member to the Indrath clan, it was easy to remove him through their internal politics.
He still remembered the allegations brought up against him from the eyes of the protagonist.
Just remembering some of them…
"Sexual harrassment against classmates…"
"'Private visits' to Alyssa after curfew…"
"Threats of use of family power against fellow synapths…"
"Misuse of allocated funds for illegal purposes…"
"Plagarism of magical research and theories…"
And this was just some of them that he could remember.
At times like these, he remembered the famous phrase people used back in his world,
'Pack it up.'
What's worse was Azariah's bratty attitude didn't help much in his case, leading to an eventual expulsion and a mysterious death later on.
Azariah sighed as he looked in the bathroom mirror.
This was going to be a long ride if he wanted to survive.
Thankfully, he was the creator of this game, this world. He knew what to do.
'If only I knew anything about this character I've came to.'
He stared at his reflection in the mirror with a frown on his face.
"This is it. If I need to survive from here, I'll need to be careful about every step."
This wasn't his game anymore. And neither was he the protagonist.
There was no plot armor for him. No checkpoints or backup save files. He had nothing.
Adjusting the collar of his academy coat and tie, he took one last look in the mirror.
"Oh yeah, my term-"
"HURRY UP!"
Unfortunately, he was interrupted by the butler's shouts from outside.
'Whatever.'
"Let's go, Yuito."
As he turned to open the door and leave, he paused and looked back.
"No, Azariah now."
Forcing a smile on his face in the mirror, he finally turned and opened the door.
__________
It was a clear and sunny day outside, perfect for an orientation.
Soft light shined down on Edo Magic Academy, the most prestigious magic institute in the entirety of Nippon.
A huge rush could be seen on the gates and above as new students rolled up for the orientation.
Students were in a hurry to take their first steps inside the academy of their dreams.
But their attention was quickly taken as a sleek black limousine rolled up to the gates beside them.
In an era of modern and futuristic technology, you'd barely see anyone still using traditional methods of transport.
Except of course, the 6 giant clans of Nippon.
The moment the vehicle entered the sight of the students, they knew that whoever was about to exit the car, they'd surely see them alot in their years throughout the academy.
However, they did not need to wait. The blended emblem on the limousine's bunker was enough to tell them who it was.
The Indraths, the strongest clan out of the 6 in NIppon.
So, only one person came to mind.
Alyssa Indrath, the second princess of Indrath. She was also rumored to be the student who had ranked first in the entrance exams, up above everyone.
Everyone's anxiety rose as the door of the limousine opened out wide, the person about to come out any second now.
However, they were taken by surprise when someone else stepped out.
With medium-length white hair tied into a small ponytail and crystal blue eyes, he was definitely not a butler.
He looked to be just their age as well with young delicate facial features. But the biggest confirmation was his uniform.
It was the official academy uniform for students.
But since when did Indraths have a son?
The person in mention, however, paid no heed to the stares directed at him.
'This day is going to be such a drag.' Azariah complained.
As if the attention wasn't tiring enough for him in his previous life.
In any case, he had a duty to do this time around.
Maintaining his neutral expression, he turned and headed to the other side of the car.
Being as professional as possible, he opened the door of the limousine and stepped aside.
And a moment later, 'she' exited the limousine as well.
For the first time, her amber golden eyes made contact with him since coming to this world. Those golden eyes that the Indraths were so well known for.
He had not paid any attention or even a look to her before since now.
She looked like a doll, with her soft delicate features and golden amber eyes. Snowy blue hair parted across her face, drapping across her shoulders to mid-waist.
Yet despite these soft features, her eyes held a certain coldness or distantness to them that made others wary of her the moment they laid eyes upon her.
As Alyssa stepped out of the car, all of the attention shifted to her in a split moment.
But it also made the gears inside the student's head click on who he was.
And as Azariah stepped up to close the door when Alyssa stepped aside…
"Wait, isn't he the discard of the Percival Family? One that was adopted by the Indraths, just for pity."
'Ah, of course.' Azariah sighed inside. But for a moment, he felt a twitch in his finger that left him surprised.
'Is this the previous Azariah's body reacting to the words?'
He didn't know for sure as he had never put a mechanic of two people in a body in his game.
But he knew this was how it was mostly in those games and novels he had read.
'Wait, I am zoning out.'
Pulling himself back, Azariah focused in front where Alyssa had already started moving without even looking at him.
Yuito supressed biting his tongue at the action. What was even the relation between him and her?
Had they even met before previously? If only he knew anything about this guy had transmigrated into.
Focusing ahead, he started moving behind Alyssa as well. Though the gossips around him were largely about her now, he could still hear some whispers.
"Yeah, wasn't he like taken in by the Indraths? It's crazy how they'd take a discarded Percival among their ranks."
"Could it be to gain some inside information about them from him?"
"Nah, it's impossible. He was a little boy when he was already discarded, how would he know anything? I heard he barely had any talent too."
Azariah keenly tried to hear everything they were talking about him.
After all, he had not designed this character. He barely knew anything about it except for things you'd see in the game as the MC.
And there wasn't much you could see about a fourth-rate character.
Some tidbits that he was hearing about himself was new information to him.
Unfortunately, he couldn't hear everything as they reached the gate.
As Azariah looked at the guard, he knew that the guy had already identified them.
But instead of Alyssa, he was eyeing him as to who he was beside her.
Even if he was her rumored bodyguard, they couldn't just let anyone in without identification.
Before Azariah could step up though, a screeching sound was heard from behind.
Screeeech!
The sound made everyone turn around, even catching Alyssa's attention.
It was another limousine, now parked beside theirs.
But the emblem on it, was different.
Just a look was enough to tell everyone who it was.
The Percivals.
Also known as the second strongest clan out of the six.
And the direct rivals of Indraths.
'Not him, why right now?' Azariah felt a sensation creeping up his body.
In the following moment, the door of the limousine opened and someone stepped out.
With medium-length wavy black hair and eyes so purple they looked like amethysts, he stood tall with an elegant air around him.
Immediately, you could hear the gossips of the girls between each other but what was more present, was the tension in the air.
And Azariah knew well enough the reason behind it.
As the guy looked forward, his eyes made direct contact with the girl beside him and a smile blossomed on his face.
He was Yvan Percival, the only son of the Percivals and also the direct heir to their throne.
But it wasn't just that, as the guy in front of Azariah was also second in student rankings, left behind by just two points by Alyssa.
It still wasn't the end of it though.
As the man walked up to them, Azariah was barely able to restrict his hand from massaging his temples.
This guy, was also the main protagonist of the game.
