Chapter 17 - Fractures and Forgiveness

The morning after the gala, tension lingered like fog over the mansion. Diana had attempted another subtle sabotage, attempting to discredit Jenna to business associates. Her schemes were intercepted by Richard, who had grown increasingly vigilant.

Jenna, unaware of the incident, continued her jewelry work, immersed in creating new pieces for the showcase. Richard entered quietly, standing behind her, watching the graceful movements of her hands over the delicate gems.

"Jenna," he said softly, startling her. "I… I want you to know I've spoken to my mother. She supports you, fully. Diana cannot touch what we have — not with her lies."

Tears prickled her eyes. "Thank you," she whispered, overwhelmed by relief and affection. "I… I don't know what to say."

Richard reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Say nothing. Just continue being yourself. That is enough."

It was the first time he allowed such intimacy, and Jenna felt the fragile beginnings of trust, hope, and love — a bond stronger than any misunderstanding or interference.
