(VALENTINO'S POV)
I'm kneeling on the cold tiles, my hand clenched so tight around the blood-stained diamonds that the sharp edges bite into my palm.
But I can barely feel it, because the pain in my chest is so much stronger.
My heart aches so badly, as if it's slowly being torn in half.
My vision swims as tears gather in my eyes. I squeeze my them shut, trying to stop them, trying to pull myself together.
But it's useless.
They spill down my face anyway.
I scream from the bottom of my chest, so hard that my throat hurts, but I don't stop.
My whole body shakes as I continue to scream, my grip tightening even more around the necklace like if I hold on hard enough, she'll appear in my arms.
I stagger as I force myself to get up.
The second I'm on my feet, the bathroom spins, and all I can see is the blood on the floor and on the walls.
I walk through the doorway.
Guests fill the hall, whispering, staring, crowding around the commotion.
