Desy was not easily convinced. She pointed at David suspiciously. "No way! Why are you still wearing just a towel? If you were alone, why was there a sound of screaming?"
"Good heavens, Mom! David just finished showering! I planned to go swimming after this, that's why I'm still in a towel," David explained, trying to make his words sound logical.
Desy narrowed her eyes, looking at David from top to bottom. She moved closer to the bed, and David felt his heart pound quickly.
"Really?" Desy asked, her voice now slightly softer, but her eyes were still alert.
"Yes," David answered firmly, smiling reassuringly, hoping his mother would be satisfied and leave his room soon.
After staring at David for a moment, Desy finally seemed satisfied with her son explanation, although she still felt something was odd.
