Elena POV
"Move!" Kelly shouted. "Everyone out, now!"
The soft clicking sound grew louder, ticking, steady, like a clock counting down to something bad.
"Cassian, is this really a bomb?" I grabbed his arm.
"I don't know!" His eyes were wide with real fear now. "Sable's never done this before. Not to me."
"Out the way we came in," Thorne shouted. "Go, go, go!"
We ran. Mark kicked the side door open and we spilled out into the night air, boots hitting pavement, everyone moving fast. I counted heads—Adrian, Thorne, Kelly, Mark, Cassian, me. Everyone made it.
We were three blocks away when the building lit up behind us. Not a huge explosion. Just a bright flash, and then smoke, curling up into the dark sky.
"Small," Max said through the comm, watching feeds from a safe distance. "Controlled. Whoever did that didn't want to level the block. They wanted to destroy what was inside."
"The data drive," Thorne said, breathing hard.
