The next day arrived quickly.
Yesterday, Professor McGonagall had answered many questions from Kevin and Dean Hopps, and now she had agreed to take them shopping for school supplies.
"Don't worry about money," she said. "You can get a loan."
After breakfast, Dean Hopps led Kevin to the agreed-upon location: the Leaky Cauldron.
But it seemed Dean Hopps couldn't see the bar.
"Dean, it's right over there," Kevin said, pointing.
"Where? Why can't I see it?" Dean squinted, unable to spot the bar.
The bar seemed extraordinary, almost hidden by some kind of spell—a Confusion Charm, perhaps, or a Muggle-Repelling Charm. Kevin guided him directly to the entrance, and only then did Dean notice it.
"Oh my God… my presbyopia might be getting worse," Dean muttered, staring at the bar that had suddenly appeared.
Inside, the bar was bustling. An old Muggle man had brought in a child, likely a new Hogwarts student. Professor McGonagall, already waiting, came over and led Kevin to the back alley.
"Kevin, this is the entrance to Diagon Alley. Pay attention and remember the way," she instructed, tapping her wand against the red brick wall.
The bricks shifted, forming a small arch.
"Welcome to Diagon Alley."
Dean Hopps watched in awe, marveling at the magic. Kevin was equally fascinated. The alley was larger and more vibrant than in the movies, with countless strange shops.
This time, he could understand English better, making the experience even richer.
As Kevin stepped into Diagon Alley, the system within him, silent for 11 years, activated.
[Ding! Host has officially entered the wizarding world. Panel unlocked. Magic power unsealed.]
Professor McGonagall sensed the sudden surge of magic in Kevin.
"Don't be afraid, kid. This is the wizarding world—you will be a part of it," she reassured him.
Kevin felt the long-dormant magic in his body finally flow. At first, it was overwhelming, but he quickly stabilized it.
"Thank you, Professor. I feel much better," he said, though he didn't explain the misunderstanding.
"You have good control over your magic," McGonagall noted, impressed. Perhaps he was a talented child.
They continued toward Gringotts, the wizarding bank, to apply for a student loan with Kevin's admission letter. Kevin checked his system panel along the way:

Soon they arrived at Gringotts, a familiar white building reminiscent of the movies. Kevin couldn't help but feel a pang of envy when he thought of Harry Potter coming here to retrieve his parents' inheritance.
Professor McGonagall handed Kevin's admission letter to a goblin, who quickly processed the student loan. Kevin, having grown up as an orphan, had little concept of money.
Next, Dean Hopps took Kevin to buy uniforms, wands, and first-grade textbooks while McGonagall prepared other things for him.
At Madam Malkin's, Kevin's uniform was customized. Madam Malkin complimented his appearance, which Kevin accepted shyly.
Then they visited Ollivander's Wand Shop. The spirited old man examined Kevin carefully.
"I'm right-handed," Kevin said to guide the process.
After a brief examination, Ollivander selected a wand: red sandalwood, ten and one-tenth inches, with a phoenix feather core. Kevin waved it lightly, and a ball of magical light floated around him.
"Very good. This wand suits you well," Ollivander said. Kevin left the shop happily, holding his future companion.
They eventually found the bookstore for textbooks. Professor McGonagall was already there, waiting.
"These are for you," she said, pointing to a crucible, several packages, and an owl. Kevin thanked her sincerely.
"You're welcome, kid. I hope you become an excellent wizard at Hogwarts," she said, touching his head with a hint of heartache.
Professor McGonagall also helped him select reference books about the wizarding world. After everything was purchased, it was time to say goodbye.
"School starts on September 1st. The day before, an owl will deliver your ticket and instructions. Bring your luggage to the station the next day. I look forward to seeing you again. Reading about Hogwarts will be very helpful," she advised, then disappeared into the crowd.
Kevin returned to the orphanage with Dean Hopps, excited for the start of his journey.
