Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, slowly opened his eyes. A blinding white light made him dizzy. He tried to sit up, only to find his body unusually heavy, as if restrained by some device. He struggled desperately, trying to break free, but it was futile.
The walls of the room were smooth as glass, with no visible exit. Suspended from the ceiling was a strange apparatus emitting a soft blue glow. Bucky felt uneasy—he had no idea where he was, and he couldn't remember how he had arrived.
Suddenly, a screen flickered to life before him. A blurry figure appeared, and a mechanical voice spoke:
"Bucky Barnes, welcome back. Please remain calm. You are safe now."
Bucky's mind was a whirlwind of confusion. He tried to recall his memories but could only remember fragments—being attacked by Electro, then everything went dark. His identity and past seemed locked deep within his mind.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Bucky's voice trembled with anxiety and confusion.
The blurry figure responded, "I am your friend, though you may not remember me. You are in a highly secure facility. We've provided the necessary treatment. Please be patient—everything will become clear in time."
Bucky struggled again, but the restraints held firm. His mind swirled with chaos, despairing over his lost memories and uncertain situation.
"Why am I here? Hydra? What did they do to me?" he croaked, fragments of memory about Hydra flickering through his mind.
The figure hesitated briefly, then said, "Hydra is indeed involved, but right now, you need rest and recovery. We will provide all necessary support."
Bucky felt his strength fading. His body grew heavy, his eyelids drooped. He realized he could no longer fight and had no choice but to follow the instructions, waiting for the truth to unfold.
Slowly, his eyes closed. He drifted into a semi-conscious state, his thoughts chaotic: his past, lost memories, Hydra's plots—a tangled web of confusion clouded his mind.
Outside the room:
"The 57th Awakening Experiment is complete," Zhan Ji Lingma said, observing the data on the screen.
"It's a hybrid of machinery, virus, and genetics, related to a project I originally planned to take over at Nest Corporation," Cruz said casually.
"Like your ability to control the flames? The pale blue fire?" Zhan Ji Lingma chuckled, fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard.
"You could have the Sage or Yak handle this directly," Cruz replied.
Zhan Ji Lingma shook a finger dismissively. "No, no, no. Is this your first time? You'll have to learn it yourself."
"That depends on you. I'm going to calibrate my divine power," Cruz said, waving goodbye.
Zhan Ji Lingma didn't glance at Cruz leaving. He waved theatrically, then focused on the data on the screen.
"Another Kamen Rider candidate… maybe Kamen Rider Ark. Fits him well."
Meanwhile:
Nathan Hawk was training in extreme conditions in the gravity chamber constructed by Zhan Ji Lingma and Cruz. Dressed in tight workout gear, sweat glistened on his muscular form. The chamber simulated Earth-like gravity to fully challenge his muscles, increasing strength and endurance.
A massive gravity generator hovered at the center of the room, emitting a faint blue glow. Sensors on the walls monitored every movement and physiological indicator.
Nathan moved relentlessly, his breathing heavy and powerful, like a wild beast. Sweat soaked his clothes, but he didn't stop. His goal: to push beyond limits and become stronger.
Under the intense gravity, his cells and viruses were stimulated, generating unprecedented power.
The room's temperature rose, the evaporating sweat forming a thin mist. Every muscle fiber trembled with effort. His movements were lightning-fast, fists cutting through the air with a whistling roar. His legs were like springs, kicking and leaping with precision.
The chamber was filled with tense energy, each of Nathan's actions calculated, his body pushed to its maximum. The walls' high-tech instruments tracked heart rate, muscle tension, and energy expenditure.
"Hm," Nathan exhaled, feeling the power and control over his body.
"The Genova cells' potential is unmatched, but under this biochemical virus and extreme training, my limits have been pushed to their max," Nathan thought. His power had grown significantly.
Thor's changes made Nathan cautious. The suspected mastermind behind the plot might be Professor X, so he had to train harder.
At least, that was Nathan Hawk's plan before the Ancient One's multiverse mission.
"I should focus on mastering my powers, apart from the Ancient One's final multiverse tasks. As for divine power and Xumagia… I'll clarify things with Wesker and train thoroughly," Nathan resolved.
Meanwhile, in S.H.I.E.L.D.:
Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff sat in the strategic briefing room, discussing the possible traitor within S.H.I.E.L.D. Their expressions were serious—they knew identifying the mole would not be easy and would require additional help and resources.
"Steve, we need the other Avengers' support. This mission is too dangerous for just the two of us," Natasha said, determination in her voice. Unity was their only chance of uncovering the traitor.
Steve nodded, recognizing the urgency. "Do you have anyone in mind?"
"I've contacted Hawkeye. He should be able to assist soon," Natasha said.
Steve exhaled. Hawkeye's expertise and experience as an Avenger would be invaluable.
"Good. Hawkeye's help is essential. I've also thought about asking Tony. His tech and resources can solve many problems," Steve added.
Natasha frowned slightly. "I went to Stark Tower, but he seems distracted—more interested in his secretary. I don't think he's focused on helping us."
"But if we call, he'll come," Natasha said.
Steve smiled faintly. "Let's not bother him yet. We wait for Hawkeye, then plan together."
Natasha nodded in agreement. "I'll stay in contact with him to ensure he arrives quickly."
"Bruce is hiding. I haven't been able to reach him," Natasha added.
"Same here. I called him, got his contact, but he didn't answer," Steve said, relieved.
"What's going on?" Natasha asked.
"The final battle awaits him," Steve said with a grin.
"That bastard… scared I'd catch him slacking," Natasha muttered with a laugh.
They continued discussing their plans.
"What about Hill going to the Hawk Group?" Steve asked.
"No news yet. Melinda will inform me immediately if there's any update," Natasha replied.
"Oh, Melinda went too?" Steve asked curiously.
"Yes, the Director ordered it. I wanted to go with you initially, but the Director refused. I have no idea what he's planning," Natasha said slyly.
"Alright, with Melinda protecting him, Hydra won't dare act rashly," Steve said, reassured.
Meanwhile, at Hawk Group:
Wesker met with Maria Hill, who was puzzled why Wesker of Umbrella Corporation was meeting her.
"Isn't S.H.I.E.L.D. aware of our identities? No need to hide. What exactly does S.H.I.E.L.D. want from us?" Wesker asked bluntly.
Hill quickly adjusted her phrasing. "The Avengers need Bucky Barnes. S.H.I.E.L.D. also wants to acquire your Eisnerak armor. Payment will be made, but it must remain confidential."
Wesker replied coldly, "Bucky Barnes? I cannot decide on that, but the Eisnerak armor—yes."
"I need the latest model, unavailable on the market," Hill said promptly.
Wesker raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Seems you're in trouble. Fine, but maintenance costs are tricky."
Before Wesker finished, Hill interrupted, "No problem. Whatever it costs, we'll pay."
On the way to Hawk Group, Nick Fury warned Hill: since there's a mole in S.H.I.E.L.D., spend big, buy everything necessary, leave no resource unspent.
Hill hesitated, then nodded, "You're the Director. The final decision is yours."
