Cobb's hands slammed into my shoulders with brutal force, sending me stumbling backward.
Rage twisted his perfect features into something unrecognizable, his eyes burning with a fury so intense I thought they might actually catch fire.
The violent shove left me reeling, but I refused to show weakness.
My fingers tightened around the ring clutched in my fist, the metal edges biting deep into my skin until warm blood began trickling between my fingers, dripping steadily onto the marble floor below.
"How dare you put your hands on Ivana?" Cobb's voice was a deadly whisper, each word dripping with venom as he tried to keep our confrontation from drawing more attention.
I raised my head slowly, meeting his blazing stare with arctic calm. The fire in his eyes only made my blood run colder. A bitter smile curved my lips as I replied, "What's wrong? Should I have checked the calendar first before teaching that snake a lesson?"
