It wasn't just being reborn here in Dragon Ball. Of all the races that he could have become, Boreas became a Frost Demon. He was even born alongside Frieza, the newest addition to the Cold Force! He was one, if not, THE primary antagonist throughout the entire story. Amongst all of the villains Dragon Ball had to offer, Frieza was the one who made the most recurring appearances!
But right now, Frieza was an infant Frost Demon, just like Boreas. He lived inside those icy mountains. It was a shame Boreas couldn't take in the sights, considering his eyes were still tightly shut. He wanted to open them, but he couldn't.
The scenery shifted once again, away from the icy mountains and citadels. The Frost Demon holding onto Boreas saw an endlessly large ocean. It was crystal clear, untainted by pollution.
The Cold Force and the Frost Demons before them used to belong to one, unified race. But over time, the Frost Clan branched out, and experienced a different form of evolution. On top of having the ability to survive in the recess of outer space void of oxygen, the Frost Clan could breathe underwater as easily as breathing in air. They even adapted bodies that could withstand intense ocean pressure, and could form cities along the bottom of the ocean. They were quite adept at fighting in water as well.
And for Boreas, this would just become a natural feeling to him. Belonging to a race that could survive in the harshest of environments was already a big win for him. He wasn't weak like humans had it. He didn't need air to breathe. And the best part? His body didn't have gills. It just worked as simple as that.
Sadly, all Boreas could do for now was end his thoughts. He couldn't move. He couldn't look around. That limited his current actions greatly.
So Boreas could only do the one thing he could do.
Sleep.
Boreas fell into a deep slumber, not paying attention to what was happening around him any longer.
The Frost Demon who carried him to the ocean's edge turned around once more, and looked in a particular direction. The direction of the lab. He saw King Frost fly off in the far distance toward another direction altogether, and did not regroup with him. But he knew his orders. He couldn't disobey King Frost.
So the Frost Demon turned around, and started flying over the ocean. He didn't count how long he spent flying over it. Despite having Planet Zero's size cut in half, the ocean still seemed endless. It was unknown as to how deep this ocean went.
Before long, the Frost Demon unleashed his Ki. It was a different shade of blue than King Frost's aura. A much darker blue. Closer to the Navy color. With a single, heavy swing, the Frost Demon threw the growth capsule away from him. It kept flying for who knows how long, before the growth capsule started to slow down. It was much farther into the ocean.
Seeing the growth capsule now gone, the Frost Demon gazed outward.
"I wish you good luck, Young Lad. May fortune shine in your favor.", The Frost Demon uttered to himself, before he picked a different direction. His body flew into the waters, and completely vanished. But the strangest thing was, not a single peep could be heard the moment the Frost Demon descended into the waters. Not a single loud splash.
That couldn't be said for Boreas, however. He was still inside the growth capsule. After the flying stopped altogether, the growth capsule made a loud 'plop' like noise, and created a large ripple once it fell into the ocean.
Slowly but surely, the growth capsule submerged into the ocean. The light's surface quickly began to fade.
Eventually, only darkness remained, surrounding the growth capsule.
The Frost Demon who vanished earlier no longer cared as to what would happen with the Cold Force. They could only think about how to live out from here on.
And so, surrounded by darkness, the sands of time began to churn. Relentlessly...
Boreas did not know what year he was brought into Dragon Ball, but he assumed that was the world he was brought into. He wasn't sure how much time had passed since his thoughts began to stir awake again.
Boreas could no longer hear any voices. Or anything, for that matter. It was as if he was swept by the void entirely. But he knew he wasn't in the void. The sound was faint, but he could hear water moving all around him.
Despite being in such tranquility, Boreas felt calm. Too calm.
Boreas knew he had those memories to go through. And since his thoughts had stirred awake once more, it was time to review them once again.
It was a good thing that Boreas decided to look into these memories. He found himself at death's door in an unknown place he used to think was his home. After meeting an unfortunate end, his memories of his past life were transferred over, assuming a new life as a Frost Demon. Seeing as he was now an infant again despite being of an alien race, this was likely the so-called "Reincarnation".
Thankfully, enough time has passed, allowing Boreas's body to grow sturdy enough. Flip!
Boreas's eyelids suddenly flung wide open. But he quickly became confused. All he could see were the contours of the growth capsule. Everything around him was darkness, and more darkness. He couldn't even see the growth serum that he was still submerged in.
"So this is how it is...", Boreas uttered, realizing he could now speak. It didn't carry that playful arrogance Frieza's voice had. His voice was more neutral. But dominant at the same time. Powerful. "Thankfully, it looks like enough time has passed, allowing me to fully process my memories. This is a pretty new situation, isn't it?", Boreas continued, musing at the new sight before him.
It took some effort, but he gradually got a good sense of his new body. It was still growing, not allowing Boreas to leave this capsule. For now.
"Still, to think I would be plunged into DBZ's story...It has so many powerhouses that I don't even know where I should begin. And seeing where I am currently placed, should I laugh, or cry? Out of all the alien races I could become, I wound up as a frickin' Frost Demon!", Boreas exclaimed, still shocked by that matter alone. He was still struggling to accept this new identity. The same race as Frieza's!
But there was one key difference to how Boreas looked, compared to Frieza. His dense, bony-like skin was mostly azure blue and not white and purple. That was likely due to years of divergent evolution of the Frost Demons. According to those previous conversations he could recall, there used to be more clans in the past. Now, it was just two. The Frost Clan, and the Cold Force.
Like Boreas had brought up, he didn't know what year he was placed into this story. Seeing as Frieza was recently born, just like him, it is still likely many years off before the canon story begins. Even more so than when Bardock tries to confront Frieza to save Planet Vegeta. It is likely tens of years prior to that.
One question lingered in Boreas's mind, coming to such a conclusion.
"Will I even get to meet Goku and the other Z Fighters at this rate? I know Frost Demons have incredibly long lifespans, but still...", Boreas uttered. Seeing as there were likely decades still remaining, he couldn't help but sigh.
Boreas hadn't a clue to the concise timeframe. Just a rough estimate. For now, he could only allow his body to continue absorbing the growth serum, and potentially meet up with the rest of the Frost Clan, like how King Frost had mentioned.
On the contrary, Boreas could also not care about the remainder of this Frost Clan, and try to find a way off this planet to let him explore what DBZ had to offer, at his own pace...
Boreas shuddered at the thought of being placed into DBZ. There were many beings out there that could destroy worlds, or even galaxies with a mere flick of one's hand. And now, he had such ability too for being reincarnated as a Frost Demon!
For the time being, Boreas was merely an infant Frost Demon without the concept of time. He had no idea how much time had passed since he was submerged into the ocean, nor from the time he heard those conversations. All around him was only water drifting. He couldn't even see in front of him and confirm whether or not there was fish for him to hunt.
Letting out a sigh, Boreas saw his mouth create a couple bubbles of air which stirred the growth serum he was presently submerged in.
"I guess for now, the only thing I can do is continue to rest, and allow this new body of mine to absorb the rest of this growth serum. I should have a couple decades before the story officially kicks off, right?", Boreas uttered, wondering.
"And now that I think about it, I am a Frost Demon now. I can survive the vacuum of space. And thanks to this clan's specialty, I can survive underwater. Is there even a need for me to consume energy through eating? I don't recall Frieza eating a single meal. I might not even need to hunt to survive...", Boreas continued.
Boreas knew he was human. Once. Those memories were now illusory. He may not even need to waste time eating to restore his energy and the likes.
So for now, Boreas decided to cease his thoughts. He fell into a deep slumber once more...
