Lucas was a burden Anthonio couldn't bear.His Grandson had become a snare to his peace. He hated him so much, a metallic taste filled his mouth. Looking at him now, it would give him the greatest pleasure to watch him die slowly, and painfully—from poisoning a glass of wine he loved—, till he begged for mercy.
Anthonio's mouth twisted bitterly. " In that case Merrick, you'll need to sign here, " he shoved a piece of paper to him. "It's been a long-standing security policy here. We will track you, if we need to investigate more than we know."
"And if l don't sign?"
"Your job ends this second." Anothonio hardened his chin, pretending Merrick's audacity, had no effect on him.
Lucas felt Anthonio's frustration radiating across the room. He relished it as much as his desire to see him suffer a stroke, or a crippling disease. He even smiled heartily at Merrick's sarcasm, and he thought he knew the drill, that Merrick had learnt quickly where pain hit Anthonio's heart the most.
