"Just a block away and l'm home."
Ava wished she had wings. She needed to fly into her house this second. Walking home today, had felt like she had crawled for hours on-end.
"Oh Alfred!" She murmured tearfully. "Please be safe."
She had tried Racheal's number a million times, still she couldn't get through. Racheal knew what to do if there was an emergency. There hasn't been one though, but Ava had made her practice over and again the things she needed to do till she was convinced she knew what to do if it happens.
If it happens. Ava dragged those words slowly as if she understood it to have a different meaning.
She had been daring with her past, which was now out of her hands. It was finished, and couldn't be undone. But her future?, she could predict.
