What Is art?

.

It is simply rhythm and control, yes… rhythm and control, only then can results be appreciated indeed

These thoughts just kept going through his head as he stirred awake all of a sudden only for his newly acquired vision to be spinning around the whole place as his sight kept descending with a flash.

A midst the confusion he quickly switched back to his soul sense only to find it was somehow restricted, to more than half of his trained limit, regardless only then did he understand what was happening, and with this understanding came the memories running back to him.

I'm falling, he thought to himself as he switched back to the normal vision and understood he was falling from quite the height and he would soon touch the earth in five seconds or less.

The earth in this question happen to be cliff separating the forest from the lowlands and in-between it was a stream of water.

In a slight panic he decided to break his fall slowly using the cliff side, he braced for impact as he controlled his body to make sure it wasn't his head first, his back would be optimum.

And then with a heavy smash, his body crashed into the cliff, the impact sending him numb for some seconds but it did not stop there as his body rolled and hit multiple rock protrusions before ultimately falling down into the stream.

He panted in his mind as his body laid face up, watching the sky as the water floated away with him slowly, he watched some parts of the cliff break off and fall into the stream, but he lacked the mental energy to even worry about that.

Shutting his eyes he could only hear her voice and assimilate all the memories they spent together.

In his memories her face and figure slowly took form and then colors began making out how and what she most likely looked as an Elf before he passed out.

.

.

Huh? Where am I ? he looked around but not necessarily with his head rather it seemed like a projection of his mind.

This came to him as a surprise, but what came even more as a surprise was his body, he was a broken down and rusted puppet.

At the sight of this all the memories like a slideshow without sound or color entered his mind causing him to lose what little control he had over the projection and return to the mind of this puppet.

With a wry smile, he understood, he had been transmigrated, and the memories he received were merely experiences of the puppet.

This has to be a mistake. He thought

In novels he read back on earth, people who got transmigrated with memories actually enter a body, an actual human body, in his mind he was just a voice in darkness, but every-time he tried to initiate sight, the darkness turned blue and structurally he had a 360 degree view of himself.

And just beside him was a corpse now turned fossil, that could have been his intended body or not, he wouldn't know now with the way it is.

His broken puppet body just laid there unmoving regardless of what he tried to do, his surroundings was a lush forest that looked more otherworldly.

The scene changed this time to him discovering, his sight is actually limited as it seemed after some hours, he would go blind again and fall asleep until he recovered his energy.

The scene then transitioned to a young female elf in the forest whose curiosity got the best of her as she seemed to know he was alive.

They spent the longest time as companions, mostly she talking and him listening.

Even though she later found out most of this bodies secret being he could never move, not with how broken his body is, he was a puppet not equipped with senses or speech so he was just a broken toy recorder in a way.

Except with his soul sense which was only limited to at most a quarter a day use, and still yet he could not necessarily see her as she was instead what he saw was her she likely didn't know, this only didn't appeal to her, it appealed to all living and non living things with energy

That was until she decided to give him life anew.

The scene then transitioned to them working on making a new body for him, mostly her though, and what other material than the wood in the forest, except this wood was special and she had to go deep into the forest to get it.

Time went by, almost a year if not more, she came during the day to the shelter she made of vines and during the night, it was up to him to take care of the shelter.

And soon his body was ready, almost ready that is, but suddenly she stopped coming.

The scene transitioned to him learning to divide his soul essence between controlling his body and watching his surrounding, further shortening his time awake but regardless, he used this time to watch over the shelter they built, her favorite plant and the animals that kept them company whenever she was around, the rabbit mostly, he seemed to have garnered some favor-ability in the environment.

Alas nothing lasts forever, the scene transitioned again to another elf female more imposing and taller than the one he was familiar with started frequenting the shelter.

He could do nothing but act like a doll but still unknown to him, many things stood out about him more than he knew.

She seemed to be investigating the area, and then she found him, the mistake they all made was assume he could hear them speak, sadly unlike the previous elf it only took her two days to understand I couldn't, and even less to know I was playing dumb.

The scenes transitioned to the last days of his stay there where this new elf finally completed his body quite easily, even though what was remaining was merely majority of his head and I believe assimilating the write-ups on my previous body into the new one.

With the completion she gave him a mask, once worn, it glued to him permanently like the final touch and almost instantly the darkness in his mind gave way to colors and a plethora of new senses.

But with this came the risk, she also handed him a pouch filled with mana crystals and a ring which he immediately wore making the crystals disappear into it.

Her words before disappeared were;

"This is my last favour to her, I don't know why she bothers but I doubt such a construct would last long there, and you…" she said pointing at me

Only then could he realize he could hear what she just said

"Theres no time, this is not a gift, it's a debt, the earlier you learn to use that body with mana, the sooner you …" she said when she suddenly looked up and disappeared.

He was still reeling in what just happened when suddenly some armoured troops, dressed like knights, stormed into the shelter not caring for property damage and attacked him, but not before something moved him instantly out of the vicinity and here he was promptly in the sky and soon after in a nightmare reliving experiences that belong to him and at the same time did not.

It was like his mind was getting used to the influx of data on a large scale and with a processing power such as his mind, it took fairly some time.

Within this time however, he could not have known the kind of commotion he caused.

It had been two days since he crash landed on the cliff which had caused a rock-slide leading to a blockage of the stream down its natural path and rather a diversion as most of the water with nowhere to go ran into peoples farmlands and homes.

Some of it at least.

The commotion reached the outskirts of Istan, a modest frontier town known for its piracy and heavy smuggling solely because of the still functioning trade port it hosted.

The flooded farmers gathered at the eastern gate, shouting for help, this wasn't new and they had been do so for the past two days all around the town but today was mostly erratic since there were rumors of the port receiving visitors today.

The towns warden had already sent a runner to the main square multiple times, requesting assistance from the local mercenary hall and by now they had a mission posted up there for the taking regarding the situation.

The reason however why the problem still persisted was most likely because of a low incentive which could not be helped by the villagers and soon luck shined upon them.

From far away, the farmers at the gate could already spot a massive market ship arriving from over the horizon
