Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Inside a small room— A cute girl with long, light gray hair was holding her face in both hands, gazing at the box in front of her with a lovestruck expression.

"Hehehe—! I finally got you!"

The girl's name was Bai Ming, a devoted Honkai Impact 3rd player. In the game, her Captain level had already reached Level 88.

And the box in front of her was a reward she'd received from an in-game event called "Blazing Dash." It was said that this event almost overloaded the delivery system in Shanghai.

This very snack box had taken her several months to finally arrive.

Satisfied with her hard-won prize, Bai Ming hugged it tightly to her chest— and before she knew it, she drifted off to sleep.

---

Among the stars—

A massive, intricately structured silver-white space station was caught in an unprecedented crisis.

Countless strange creatures—each with blade-like appendages attached to their arms—descended upon it from a flickering black hole.

The humans living on the station had never seen beings like these before, and naturally, panic erupted.

Screams echoed one after another, chaos spreading through every corridor.

But amidst the turmoil, a secret operation was quietly taking place deep within the station.

A beautiful woman walked down the halls of the space station, her steps graceful and elegant. A calm, pleasant smile rested on her lips, giving her an air of quiet confidence and charm as the faint hum of the station's lights reflected softly against her composed expression.

Thea mature woman with red wine-colored hair that she ties in a messy ponytail with two loose bangs hanging on either side of her face. Her eyes are of a similar, lighter color, and she wears dark pince-nez sunglasses on top of her head along with a pearl earring in her right ear.

She wears a white dress shirt that exposes the top of her back and shoulders along with a black jacket that is draped over her shoulders. There's a silver butterfly pin on its left lapel, and on the back there is a large, spider-like pattern in the center, along with webs on both shoulders and a burgundy inside. There are also wine-colored straps with golden accents on both her jacket and thighs, and gloves of a similar shade. She has large silver rings on each of her fingers, and her gloves have silver spiderwebs on the backhand.

She wears black, high waisted shorts and nylon tights, with a thigh garter on her right leg. She also wears black boots with two different lengths: the right goes over her knee, while the left goes slightly over her ankle.

This was Kafka.

Under Elio's guidance, Kafka, a member of the Stellaron Hunters, took advantage of the Antimatter Legion's invasion of the space station. Using the chaos as cover, she infiltrated the station to locate the Stellaron.

"The Stellaron is right ahead. Make it quick."

A voice said from behind her. Kafka turned her head slightly to face the shorter girl

petite young woman had silver eyes and long gray hair held in a high ponytail. She wears a short black coat along with a crop-top which covers the upper part of her body, exposing her navel. She also wears black unbuttoned shorts with a decorative piece of black and purple fabric that hangs off the back, along with a white belt that has a game console attached at the hip.

On her head she wears purple glasses, as well as a black bow which she uses to tie her hair into a loose ponytail. She also wears a pair of black, white, and blue boots, along with a knife attached to her right leg and short fishnets up the calf on the left. In addition, she has blue bandages on her left knee and lower back.

it was Silver wolf

Like Kafka, Silver wolf used the chaos caused by the Antimatter Legion to infiltrate the space station.

Silver wolf using her exceptional hacking skills cracked the seal of Curio No. 211 — "blind spot" a special optical-bending field that made everything within it difficult to notice.

With this seal broken, the two successfully walked into the hidden area of the station.

---

"That was the prelude."

Hearing Silver Wolf's reminder, Kafka nodded slightly, then stepped up to the Stellaron control device.

She gently ran her hand over its smooth surface.

Silver Wolf's voice came through again:

"There's an independent defense system here… Looks like this 'Stellaron' is no ordinary collectible for Herta."

"Can you extract it?" Kafka asked calmly.

Silver Wolf replied, her tone laced with pride:

"Of course. even the genius Herta can't compete with me when it comes to hacking."

"Good." Kafka smiled faintly. "Then I'll leave the vessel preparation to you~"

Ttap… Ttap…

Her heels clicked softly as Kafka walked toward the golden, glowing sphere floating in the air.

She reached out her hand—and grasped it.

No pain. No resistance. No sign of rejection.

Kafka simply held the Stellaron in her palm and turned toward Silver Wolf.

"The vessel is ready," Silver Wolf said, her fingers still dancing across a holographic blue screen.

Then, with a flick of her wrist, she slid the screen toward Kafka.

"You make the choice."

Kafka raised her other hand, stopping the screen's motion.

Her gaze softened as she murmured quietly: "Elio said this choice… will change many things."

"And Elio also said," Silver Wolf added,

"The one who must make that choice… is you."

Kafka's brows arched slightly, a small ripple of emotion flashing across her face.

"As if I really had a choice."

Her tone carried a hint of helpless amusement.

"Even the name's already been decided."

"Huh?"

Silver Wolf blinked, clearly puzzled.

"Let me see?"

She leaned her head closer toward the screen—Just as Kafka had said—

the interface that was supposed to allow them to choose a vessel now displayed only a single activation point.

Even the name had already been set.

> "Bai Ming?"

Silver Wolf read the name aloud, confusion flickering across her face.

"Wait, that's not what it showed earlier… Did something go wrong?"

Feeling that something was clearly off, Silver Wolf quickly pulled up her panel again, calling up the relevant data once more.

But the result was the same.

On the holographic screen, the only image shown was that of a sleeping, gray-haired girl.

For a moment, Silver Wolf didn't even know what to say. She turned toward Kafka.

"What should we do?"

Kafka thought for a moment, then replied calmly:

"Since everything is part of Elio's 'script,' let's follow it. We'll use her."

Without hesitation, Kafka reached out and lightly touched the glowing button labeled [Activate].

"So be it."

She tossed the confirmed selection back toward Silver Wolf's panel.

The image rippled, and the choice merged seamlessly into the pale blue screen.

Moments later, light began to gather—

and the faint outline of a young girl's body slowly took shape.

She was still asleep, as though she had always been this way.

Holding the Stellaron, Kafka walked toward the girl's form.

For a while, she simply looked down at her, studying her face with quiet amusement.

"Such a cute face," she murmured with a soft smile. "How much do you think she remembers?"

"At least she'll remember you," Silver Wolf replied, glancing back.

"Hmm…"

Kafka gave a small hum, then slipped an arm gently around the girl's waist and whispered—

"Time to wake up."

With that, she pressed the golden, glowing Stellaron directly into the girl's chest.

The light from the Stellaron surged into her body—no rejection, no resistance—as if it had always belonged there.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

Time flowed softly—and then, the girl named Bai Ming slowly opened her eyes.

Her golden irises shimmered faintly, hazy with drowsiness.

Kafka quietly steadied her emotions, preparing to speak—but before she could say a word, Bai Ming suddenly moved.

And what she did completely stunned both Kafka and Silver Wolf.

The girl shot up energetically, waving her hand with a bright smile, and shouted—

"Hi! Isn't this my adorable wifey, Silver Wolf?! Hey Duckie!"
