When Chizuki left, only a mess remained on the ground.
"I've cleared out the Nobushi closest to Higi Village. The village should be a little safer now." Thinking this, a small sense of relief washed over Chizuki.
There were many Nobushi on Yashiori Island, not to mention how many there would be if you added the ones from Kannazuka.
"Could the people living in other parts of the island also be harmed by the Nobushi?" Chizuki knew just by thinking about it that the number would be enormous.
And she just wanted to do something for these people, within her capabilities.
At an age brimming with a sense of justice, it was only natural for her to want to do these good deeds.
Chizuki's gaze fell upon an item in her backpack.
Strange Wooden Crate: Due to a special art, the inside of this wooden crate seems capable of containing a small amount of elemental energy. In places with high concentrations of elemental energy, it appears to produce a different effect.
This was something that had mysteriously found its way into her backpack while she was wandering and rummaging around the island.
Musoujin Gorge was right next door. If one were to ask where the elemental concentration was highest in all of Higi Village, this place would undoubtedly be the top contender.
Chizuki had left several wooden crates here.
"Is it raining again?"
The sky had finally stopped raining for a short while, but it wasn't long before the raindrops began to fall again.
Inside the house, Chizuki watched the dense rain falling like arrows outside her window, pacing back and forth restlessly.
If she went out now, she would get all dirty and soaked again.
Chizuki wasn't very keen on getting her beautiful fur dirty.
However, right now, a rainy day was, of course, the perfect time to go out and teach the Nobushi a lesson.
"I choose you!"
Chizuki had already retrieved the wooden crates she had placed near Musoujin Gorge before the rain started.
As the rich Electro energy continuously gathered inside the crates, Chizuki obtained a brand-new item.
Electro Slime Crate: An elemental life form condensed from high-purity elemental energy is trapped inside. If the wooden crate were to explode, perhaps it would have a different effect.
Although this crate might not be able to cause much damage to a Kairagi, the spreading effect of Electro-Charged on a rainy day would give them a tingling experience they would never forget for the rest of their lives.
Of this, Chizuki was very certain.
Having once accidentally slashed an Electro Slime into the water and then carelessly stepped into it herself, the instantaneous scalp-numbing shock gave her considerable authority on the matter.
Chizuki prepared to set out with the dozens of Electro Slime Crates in her backpack.
Tossing them like bombs at every camp with Kairagi in it—just imagining the scene was wonderful.
What was that saying again?
Blast them all!
"But the only place on the island with a really high concentration of Electro energy is Musoujin Gorge. There don't seem to be any other areas with high elemental concentrations."
This was the only thing Chizuki found a bit regrettable.
If there were a volcano or something nearby, couldn't she just place a crate there and, by the same logic, create a Pyro Slime Crate?
Combining Electro and Pyro could trigger an Overloaded reaction. Just the thought of it conjured images of an even bigger explosion. It might even be powerful enough to blast people straight into the sky.
Perhaps other elemental combinations could lead to more interesting results.
At this thought, Chizuki excitedly set off.
Time to head out!
Braving the downpour, Chizuki pressed on resolutely toward her destination, undeterred by the raindrops pelting her body.
In the Nobushi camp, several Wandering Samurai were patrolling back and forth with their blades drawn.
Their diligence was such that even Chizuki couldn't help but marvel. They're way too dedicated!
Meanwhile, the Kairagi, clad in purple and red armor, were sitting on the ground resting.
Chizuki felt the Thunder Slime box in her hand practically humming with anticipation.
She could barely restrain her eager, itching claws!
"Swoosh, swoosh!"
With a short running start, Chizuki launched the Thunder Slime box from a high vantage point. It traced a perfect arc before landing precisely in the center of the camp.
The wooden box shattered on impact, and the Thunder Slime inside burst forth, erupting in a flash of purple lightning.
The electric current conducted through the rainwater, spreading to the Nobushi.
The numbing, tingling sensation caused most of the Nobushi's legs to give out, and they collapsed to the ground.
The slightly stronger Kairagi managed to hold on, drawing their blades and scanning their surroundings for any movement.
However, Chizuki, the culprit, had already scampered far away.
Hmph, hmph~
Watching the lightning spread across the ground, Chizuki couldn't help but puff out her chest with pride.
(PS: Although, it does look a lot like this.)
It might not have caused any substantial damage, but seeing the Nobushi in such a sorry state inexplicably lifted Chizuki's spirits.
At the very least, they had received a small taste of the lesson they deserved.
She would settle this score with them, one by one, later.
Aside from that, Chizuki had recently discovered a more serious problem.
She stared at her attack power panel in contemplation.
Attack: 340+91 (Not expandable)
What did this mean?
She was a Nekomata who planned to pour all her points into attack because she was too afraid of pain!
What was this about suddenly not being able to add points to her attack power?
Hint: Attack power has reached the current stage's limit. Please work on improving your "Status" to achieve a further breakthrough.
Status?
Chizuki glanced down.
Status: Juvenile.
This... This!
What am I supposed to do about this? Chizuki froze for a moment, instantly thinking of her age. She was still young. But age wasn't something that could be changed overnight!
Does this mean my future attribute points can only be spent on max HP and defense? she wondered.
In that instant, Chizuki felt all her previous enthusiasm drain away.
While max HP and defense would certainly improve her stats, for her, increasing attack power was clearly the best choice.
She was troubled.
"Does this mean I should get a better weapon?" Otherwise, Chizuki truly had no idea where to even begin.
"Then how can I improve my current status?"
Hint: There are four status stages. The next stage is the Growth Period. Please continue to work hard toward this goal.
The system, however, had dodged her question.
"How do I improve it!" That was the answer Chizuki wanted to know.
Hint: Please explore on your own.
Chizuki: "..."
Stop messing around, all of you!
Chizuki was so angry she almost flipped the table in front of her.
Can't we just have a good time anymore?
However, one thing that brought her some comfort was that with her current level of attack power, dealing with the present situation was basically not much of a problem.
