Felix and Mercedes were sleeping soundly on her bed. Felix woke up first and was pleased to see his mate sleeping on his bare chest. Her hot breath provided him with warmth, and he made sure not to move. He did not want to disturb her sleep and lose the beautiful sight he was marveling at. Her hair was repealed on his chest and some of it covered his face, so he pushed it behind her so he could see her face.
Looking at her, his thoughts traveled back to last night's events. He almost had all of her, but with great willpower, he pulled back and stopped himself. He wanted their first time to be special.
He heard her light snores, and he smiled at how cute it sounded. After some time of staying still to let her sleep, she began to awaken from her peaceful slumber. Felix quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. Mercedes opened her eyes to see a hard warm chest. She was startled and tried to get up from bed, but strong arms were wrapped around her and prevented her from getting up. She looked up to see Felix's handsome face and stopped struggling. His grip on her was strong and he would not let her.
She huffed and gave in, placing her head back on his chest. Now she could hear his steady, strong heart neat and focused on it. Felix opened one eye to peek at her. He was happy that she had stopped struggling and laid back on his chest. He didn't say anything nor did she. They enjoyed the peaceful moment of silence.
" Are you awake?" he said in almost a whisper. Mercedes tensed but stayed still. " I know you are awake. There is no need to be shy," he teased her and chuckled. Mercedes's face turned red in embarrassment and she closed her eyes. This was all strange to her. It was the first time she woke up in bed with someone. She wondered what his appearance was like. Without giving it much thought, she got up and ran to the bathroom, and shut the door. Her pain was racing as she leaned her back on the door.
Felix sat on the bed confused by her behavior. He thought that he must have said something wrong, but he did not understand what it was he said that must have offended her.
" Mercedes, are you okay!?" he asked, getting out of bed and standing outside the bathroom door. Mercedes locked the door and went over to the mirror to look at herself. Her hair was not that bad so she brushed her fingers through it so she could straighten it out. Her eyes were also a little swollen too, but other than that, she was alright. She sighed in relief, seeing that she was worrying a lot for no reason.
She heard Felix still banging on the door. His knocks were getting louder and more aggressive. A smile appeared on her face. This was the first time she slept throughout the night without waking up. Her appearance was not worn out either. She did not experience any nightmares either. She slept like a baby, and it was all thanks to Felix.
Mercedes rushed to the door and swung it open before Felix could break it down. Felix quickly held on to her arms and inspected her for any injuries. " Are you okay, Mercedes? Did something happen to you? Why did you run off like that? Is it something I said!" he rushed out and Mercedes was touched by his immense concern for her. It was evident on his face that he was genuinely worried about her. She blushed when she saw that he was still naked on his upper body. His muscles and abed torso were still on display and her eyes ran down until they landed on the long-hung sweatpants.
She didn't get the chance to appreciate her mate's astonishing physique before she was pulled into a hug and her face was planted on Felix's broad hard chance. " Please... don't run off like that. I-I was worried that maybe I had done something wrong. Mercedes raised her arms and wrapped them around him, returning his hug.
" Please don't worry. I ran away for stupid reasons... not because of you," she said, leaning back still in his arms to look at him. She smiled broadly and watched Felix's features relax. He returned a small smile of his own and placed his strong rough hands on her soft cheeks.
He leaned his head down and she closed her eyes. She felt warm soft lips land on her forehead. She slowly opened her eyes and found him looking at her like she was something precious to him. Before, Felix's eyes used to look cold and distant, like an endless pit of darkness. You could not read any emotion in them, but now, Mercedes could see all his unexpressed feelings showing in his eyes just screaming to be let out. She swallowed thickly and moved away from his embrace. The moment between them was cut short because Mercedes didn't want them to succumb to their desires as the sexual tension was so thick in the room. She realized that although she wanted nothing more than to give in to him and let him have his way with her, it was too soon, and she didn't want them to rush into things and not enjoy being in each other's company without being intimate.
Mercedes cleared her throat and said, " I think it's better we get ready for the day. Everyone must be expecting their Alpha and Crystal must be wondering what's keeping me so long," she said, and Felix nodded in agreement and scratched his head. He was lost in her again, which seemed to be happening a lot lately in her presence.
" Yes! I guess you are quite right about that. I have a lot of things to do, and I am sure you too," he replied, looking around so to see where he threw his shirt. He spotted it at the foot of the bed and picked it up to put on. He didn't want anyone to see him coming out of her room half-naked and make obscene assumptions about what they didn't know. He was proper. He looked at her for some time before heading out to her.
Standing outside the room, he heaved a deep sigh and ran his hand on his face. He was spotting a hard-on that, thankfully, Mercedes did not notice. Now he needed a cold shower. He walked back to his room and entered. It suddenly felt cold in his room and not so pleasant to be in. He just wanted to go back to Mercedes and take a shower with her instead of being alone.
When he was showering, he remembered the task he had to complete. He had to plan the introduction ceremony of the new Luna of his pack. He wanted it to be a grand affair, but knowing Mercedes, she would not like that much. Besides, he did not have the time nor was it safe for him to publicly display his mate in front of many strangers who could be part of Drakoen's followers. It was better to make it a small, intimate affair for just his pack members.
He also had to tell Mercedes about Drakoen and his plans. He was going to do it after the introductory ceremony and begin preparing her as Alexa suggested. He hoped that he would have at least that much time before things go sideways and out of control.
