The man lowered his stance, one hand resting lightly on his sword hilt.
Sun Jing's blood ran cold.
'Shit—he's doing it again.'
"Hazy Moon—"
Her magic surged, coating the Giant Boomerang in radiant silver-pink light.
"Hiryu… Kaen!"
In a single explosive motion, the swordsman launched himself into the air. One hand gripped his blade while the other locked his wrist in place for stability. A blazing arc of compressed force descended toward Sun Jing like a falling dragon.
"Shining Road!"
Sun Jing thrust her weapon forward.
A beam of pure light erupted from her boomerang, racing upward at impossible speed. The two attacks collided midair.
FLASH—BOOOOM!
The dojo was swallowed by blinding radiance.
The shockwave cracked the wooden floor beneath Sun Jing's feet and sent her sliding backward. When the light faded, fragments of her Giant Boomerang clattered uselessly to the ground.
"…Heh," Sun Jing muttered, breathing heavily.
"Guess that thing had it coming."
A familiar chime echoed in her mind.

The swordsman stood where he had landed, unmoving… before slowly lowering his blade. A thin line of blood ran down his shoulder.
"…Well done," he said quietly.
He turned and walked toward the pedestal, lifting the white-sheathed sword with reverence before extending it toward Sun Jing.
"Wado Ichimonji is yours."
Sun Jing hesitated, then stepped forward and accepted the sword.
"Take care of it," The man says.
As her fingers closed around the hilt.
"…Thanks."
Sun Jing exhales and summons her system interface.

Sun Jing dismisses the system interface and feels the pressure of the dungeon fully vanish as her surroundings snap back into place.
The next thing she knows, she's standing in the middle of her bedroom, the familiar scent of clean sheets and polished wood replacing the smell of dust and iron.
"…Home," she mutters.
She exhales and pulls up her system again, this time focusing on her newly acquired weapon.

She slips Wado Ichimonji into her inventory, stretches her arms over her head, and heads toward the bathroom.
"Hot shower sounds amazing right now—"

"Yes?" she calls out.
A calm, refined voice answers from the other side of the door.
"Miss Sun Jing, dinner has been prepared and is ready whenever you are."
Sun Jing blinks, then glances down at herself, still faintly sore from the fight.
"…Right. Food first," she says. "I'll be there in a minute."
"Very good, miss," the butler replies, footsteps retreating down the hall.
After dinner and a shower, Sun Jing changes into pajamas and prepares for bed, knowing school starts tomorrow.
