Moonlight filtered through the trees as Sun Jing, Rias, and her peerage advanced through the forest. Looming ahead of them, half-swallowed by trees, stood an abandoned mansion.
"Stray devils usually start out as servants," Kiba explained as they moved.
"You mean like you guys?" Sun Jing asked.
"No," Kiba corrected. "Not exactly."
Issei frowned. "Then what's the difference?"
"Sometimes," Kiba continued, "a servant rebels and kills their master to gain freedom. When that happens, they become strays."
Sun Jing's expression hardened. "And if someone was forcefully reincarnated as a devil?"
"They're still punished if they kill their master," Rias answered without hesitation. "I know—it's unfair. But that's how the system works."
Akeno stepped forward, her expression turning serious. "According to the report, this stray has been luring people into the mansion… and devouring them."
"Gross!" Issei blurted out.
"This mission should be simple," Akeno said. "Locate the stray and kill them."
The inside of the mansion was worse than the outside, rotted wood, cracked walls, and the lingering stench of death. At some point, Sun Jing quietly separated from the group.
She entered a wide, shadow-filled hall.
From the darkness, a woman's voice echoed.
"Hm? And what do we have here~?"
A tall figure stepped forward. The woman had long black hair and a voluptuous body. Her lower body remained hidden in the gloom.
"I smell… a fairy."
Sun Jing slipped her hands into her pockets. "You must be the stray devil Viser, right?"
Viser's eyes narrowed with interest. "And how does someone like you know my name?" She laughed softly. "No matter. I've never devoured someone from the fairy clan before."
She floated forward, emerging fully from the shadows.
What should have been human legs were instead centaur-like, with clawed limbs and a grotesque, fanged cavity embedded in her abdomen.
Sun Jing's eyes flicked over her once. Unimpressed.
"I wonder how you'll taste!"
Viser lunged.
Sun Jing leapt backward, springing cleanly out of the room as claws smashed into the floor behind her.
"Get back here!"
The sound of screeching, crashing walls, and heavy impacts echoed through the mansion.
"…Where's twinkle toes?" Koneko asked flatly.
"Huh?" Issei blinked.
That was when Sun Jing slid into view, calmly retreating while Viser tore through the hallway behind her.
"Holy—!" Issei shouted. "Boobies-! …Never mind."
"Found the stray," Sun Jing said casually.
She stopped, turned, and drew Wado Ichimonji from her inventory.
"Could you stop screaming?" she added dryly. "I know I look good, but I can't let you eat me."
She unsheathed the blade in a single smooth motion.
A compressed slash of air burst forward, slamming into Viser and halting her charge instantly. Dust and debris filled the corridor.
Sun Jing glanced back at Rias and casually sheathed her sword again.
"Mind demonstrating for me and Issei?" she asked. "I want to see how your peerage fights… but I'm taking the finishing blow."
Rias stepped forward, crimson eyes glowing.
"Viser," she declared coldly. "You betrayed your master and fled to indulge your twisted desires."
Viser snarled.
"Your sins are unforgivable," Rias continued. "In the name of the great Marquis of Gremory be gone… or face destruction!"
Viser laughed, licking her lips as her gaze locked onto Sun Jing.
"Oh, spare me, you little devil princess," she sneered. "I only want the fairy girl. The rest of you can disappear and let us have some alone time~"
"…Yeah," Sun muttered, "that's not happening."
"This is your final warning," Rias declared. "Return to your master now!"
"Whoa… this is a stray devil?" Issei stared openly, a grin spreading across his face. "She looks like a soft-core late-night cable star!"
Viser shifted, her inhuman lower limbs clicking against the floor.
Issei's grin immediately died. "Okay, never mind. That's disgusting."
"What a waste," he muttered. "At least she's got a nice rack"
Crimson magic appears around Viser's nipples.
"Uh… oh," Issei said weakly. "That's not good."
Viser laughed, tilting her head back as glowing yellow acid blasted from the magic circles. Rias moved instantly, yanking Issei out of the way as the attack slammed into the wall, melting stone on contact.
"Yuck! This is a porno I do not wanna be in!" Issei yelled.
"Please be careful," Rias warned him.
Sun Jing cracked her neck. "She's officially grossing me out. Can I kill her now?"
"If you wish," Rias replied calmly. "You can spar with the others later. I'm sure Kiba would welcome it."
"Kay'."
Sun Jing vanished from her spot, narrowly avoiding Viser's clawed limbs as they slammed into the floor.
"You said you wanted me," Sun Jing called out evenly. "Well? I'm right here."
"Finally!" Viser hissed. "Let's see how well you taste!"
Rias glanced at Akeno. "Any concerns?"
Akeno smiled faintly. "None at all. I can feel it… that magic. I want to see it too."
Sun Jing rushed forward, slashing cleanly through Viser's lower limbs as she sprinted up the monster's body. Viser tried to grab her but Sun Jing was already airborne.
Pink magic flared around her blade. "Ittoryu Iai: Sanjuroku Pound Ho!" She swung.
A spiraling, compressed wave of air tore forward and slammed into Viser, sending her crashing back through debris.
"HOLY SHIT!" Issei shouted. "I wanna do that!"
"Kiba," Rias speaks.
The blond knight vanished.
"…Man, he disappeared," Issei muttered.
"No," Rias corrected. "You just can't track him. As my Knight, Kiba's attribute is speed."
Kiba reappeared in front of Viser, blade flashing. In a single motion, he severed both of her arms.
"And his ultimate weapon," Rias continued, "is his sword."
Koneko stepped forward.
"Koneko—! Watch out!" Issei shouted as Viser's stomach split open, revealing rows of jagged teeth that lunged toward her.
"It's fine," Rias said calmly.
A split second later, the jaws were forced open from the inside. Koneko stepped out, her uniform torn but body unharmed.
"As my Rook," Rias explained, "her attribute is absolute strength. That attack wouldn't even bruise her."
"See you later," Koneko said flatly then punched.
Viser was launched across the hall, smashing into a pillar with a sickening crack.
"…Never thought someone that small could hit that hard," Sun Jing muttered.
Note to self, Issei thought, do not make her angry.
"Akeno," Rias said softly.
"Oh?" Akeno smiled, eyes half-lidded. "Is it my turn already?"
Yellow lightning crackled around her hands as she stepped forward.
"As my Queen," Rias continued, "Akeno's abilities combine all pieces. She's unbeatable."
Akeno looked down at the struggling Viser. "Still standing? How fun."
Lightning erupted, slamming into Viser and pinning her to the floor.
"Her weapon is dark magic," Rias added. "And her enjoyment of battle…"
Akeno blushed slightly. "This kind of violence really gets my blood going."
Sun Jing shivered. "…She's scary."
"She's sadistic," Rias corrected calmly.
"Oh," Sun Jing said. "That explains a lot."
"Akeno," Rias said after another strike, "that's enough. If she won't surrender… Sun will finish this."
Akeno pouted. "Already? I was just warming up."
She stepped aside as Viser collapsed, barely conscious.
Rias approached, Sun Jing beside her.
"Any last words?" Rias asked.
Viser spat weakly. "Go to hell…"
Rias sighed. "Very well." She turned slightly. "Sun Jing, do the honors."
Sun Jing rested her hand on her sword.
"…Gladly."
Sun Jing unsheathed Wado Ichimonji.
Black fire erupted along the blade.
"Enchantment: Hellblaze."
The air around her warped as the heatless flames burned.
Sun Jing stepped forward, calm and precise, and drove the katana straight down into Viser's body.
The stray devil screamed but only once.
Black flames exploded outward, swallowing her whole. There was no thrashing, no regeneration, no dramatic comeback. The fire devoured everything, erasing flesh, magic, and presence alike. Within seconds, nothing remained but scorched stone.
The flames vanished as if they had never existed.
Sun Jing pulled her blade free and slid it back into its sheath.
"Done."
A system window flickered briefly in her vision.

They exited the mansion together, the oppressive atmosphere lifting the moment they stepped back into the forest.
Rias walked beside Sun Jing, her expression thoughtful. "That technique you used… what was it called?"
"Hm?" Sun Jing replied casually. "Oh. It's called Hellblaze. Black flames that never go out. They also stop regeneration."
Rias's eyes narrowed slightly. "An ability from your demon side?"
"Yeah," Sun Jing nodded. "Actually… it's the only one I have so far."
"I see," Rias said thoughtfully. "Are you more attuned to your fairy side, then? Hybrids usually inherit traits from both."
Sun Jing shrugged. "You could say that. I don't exactly have a mentor. I'm just figuring things out as I go."
"Well," Sun Jing said, stretching her arms, "I'm heading home. It's getting late. See you guys later."
