Chapter 10 - First Day

Chapter: First Day, Still Mine

The campus was buzzing with students rushing between classes, the sun bright over the quad, but Jay barely noticed. She had her backpack slung over one shoulder, her schedule clutched in hand, and her heart doing somersaults for a reason that had nothing to do with university.

Because right behind her, Keifer Watson was walking like he owned the place—sharp blazer, crisp shirt, and that infuriating smirk that made her knees weak.

"Jay," he murmured, leaning close as they approached the lecture hall, "don't look so nervous. You have me. And I always protect my wife."

Jay groaned. "Protect? It's the first day of uni, not a battlefield."

"Exactly. I like to treat you like a battlefield," he whispered, his fingers brushing hers. She flushed instantly. "I can't help it. You're mine."

Her cheeks burned as she swatted his hand away—but only lightly. "You really never stop, huh?"

"Never," he said simply, eyes glinting with mischief.

Section E, of course, had to make everything ten times more dramatic. Percy bounded up to them, backpack half on, grinning. "So this is it! Married at eighteen, walking the same halls as us. Can't wait to watch you two squirm in public."

Aries shot Percy a glare. "Stepbro, shut up. She's mine to protect first."

Angelo smirked, nudging Jay gently. "Watson, you better behave. She's family now."

Keifer only laughed, pulling Jay closer to his side. "Relax, everyone. She's mine. Forever."

Jay groaned but hid a smile. She loved that Section E was still her chaos. Her family. And now, they were all here, navigating university together.

Their first class—Business 101 for Keifer, Literature 101 for Jay—was nothing short of a comedy of errors. Keifer kept leaning close, whispering jokes about her notes, brushing his fingers along her hand under the table.

Jay tried to concentrate, but his presence was overwhelming. When he brushed her hair back, she could barely think straight. When he whispered, "You're gorgeous, Jay. I can't keep my hands off you," she nearly melted in her seat.

Percy, of course, noticed everything. "Ohhh, so PDA in class. Love it."

"Percy!" Jay hissed.

Keifer only grinned, brushing her cheek with his thumb. "He's just jealous he's not my wife."

Jay's blush nearly burned her textbooks.

By lunch, they were inseparable. Keifer holding her bag, offering bites of his sandwich, teasing her about taking her Literature notes too seriously. Section E trailed behind, making snide comments, offering unsolicited advice, and generally making Jay's life impossible—but in the best way.

Walking across campus, Keifer looped his arm around her waist, whispering, "Jay, let's make a rule: between classes, only I can steal kisses. Got it?"

Jay laughed, hitting his chest lightly. "Deal. But don't push it too far."

"Too late," he murmured, stealing a quick kiss before she could protest, just enough to make her knees buckle.

And as they entered the library to grab books for her first assignment, Jay realized that university wasn't just about studies. It was about her life, her love, and the chaos of Section E… and that she wouldn't change a thing.

Not a single thing.

Because Keifer was hers, and she was his. And nothing—neither campus nor Paris or anything in between—would ever change that.
