Now, was it his turn? Was this a dream?
Blinking twice, Nolan wondered if this was an illusion, finding his wife standing outside his room. Hand frozen in the air, fist in the motion of knocking on his door again, and doe eyes looking like a deer in headlights.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked, as his eyes looked beyond her shoulders as if expecting that someone else would be there. But it was just the two of them.
"Ah! I... I..." Like a goldfish gasping for air, his wife just kept opening her lips, but no words came out of them.
Frankly, he thought it was kind of cute and amusing to catch his wife seemingly tongue-tied for once. He believed it was a rare moment, learning from the past few days that his wife was not someone who easily turned tail and ran.
But then again, what was she doing knocking on his door? Did something happen?
More importantly, did he hear her correctly? Did she actually say that?
That she wanted him.
