Chapter 6 - Ambush

"You're under arrest for the many crimes, fraud, forgery, blackmail, money laundering, kidnapping, ransom, tax evasion and embezzlement to name a few. You are not going to see the sun in years, Midas."

Sela gritted her teeth after she finished speaking and stared Midas down. I expected Midas to freeze up in the presence of many police officers, including a member of the feared God-force, but he just chuckled and grinned.

"Sela, so good to see you as well! How are you holding up, with your sister's 'unfortunate accident'? I heard that your uncle got scammed and couldn't afford you mothers liver transplant, a shame she died, her bakery was very successful and had a good reputation, and was pretty cheap as well! Your uncle must've really needed money to buy alcoholics, too bad that the batch he bought made him and your father fall ill and die. What about your boyfriend? Oh right, didn't he skip town with your money? And I thought you trusted him, how sad."

Sela's eyes bulged, and her face flushed red. I could almost see steam blowing out of her ears. She lunged forward, screaming, but the policeman next to her stopped her.

"You bitch!!! You murdered my sister by arranging the car crash!"

"What do you mean? I would never do something like that."

"You scammed my uncle by sending a fake lawyer, who took his money!"

"There are plenty of scammers going around, how do you have proof it was me?

"You poisoned my mothers liver, and made sure that it was too expensive to replace!"

"I simply happened to buy all of the black market organ stock when she fell ill. A coincidence."

"You poisoned my uncle and father's alcohol with cyanide!"

"To tell the truth, that liquor was meant for Councilwoman Grace, but it must've gotten mixed up during packaging. So she ended up passing the law I was hoping to avoid being passed..."

"You stole my money and killed my boyfriend! I saw his dead body!"

Sela let tears slide down her face, but regained composure after a minute. Then she looked back at Midas, who shrugged.

"I know you arranged to kill all of them! Which is why I am trying to arrest you for your crimes! It all your fault that their dead!"

"If you hadn't left me on our first date, none of this would've happened."

Sela's eyes narrowed.

"You killed them because I left you on a date that was two years ago?!"

"I was devastated that you left me, and it took these two years to find them all and have them murdered."

Sela took a deep breath, and then turned away.

"Arrest him."

The police raised their crossbows and aimed them at Midas. Midas smiled and snapped his fingers. One of the officers knelt down, coughing and clawing at his shirt. Sela turned around, her eyes widening. While the police were distracted, Midas lunged at one, his hand turning into steel as it pierced the officer's skull, killing her instantly. Midas began dancing through the police, blood spraying everywhere.

In just a short minute, all of the police were dead, and Midas had hardly a speck of blood on his jacket or shirt. Sela screamed, lunging at him, sword raised, preparing to cut him down, her eyes glowing pure light, as she seemed to fly off the ground towards him.

Midas looked at her with a sympathetic smile, and then whistled.

A figure flew out of the darkness screaming, and slammed into Sela, knocking her down before they tumbled to the ground.
