Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Questions

Do you really believe that the world is limited to what you can see?

Debbie sat on her balcony to think of something she could add to the script that she was writing. It was her favorite place where she could freely brainstorm for ideas. The flowers from every pot and the sunrays that hit her face every weekend afternoon. She loved sunsets, so whenever it's the time of the year when sunsets are most beautiful and vivid, she especially takes time to watch them from her balcony.

Her protagonist this time is special. A man who is from another world, who moves ulteriorly and manipulates things with good strategies while acting dumb and always staying behind the scenes. Then take over the government, get obsessed and fall in love with a nobody like her; maybe that will be entertaining in this boring world.

Someone who will appear out of nowhere and do anything to make you stay because that person cannot live without you.

She climbed up and sat on the frame of the balcony. She is wearing her favorite white nightgown. It is so comfortable and light that she can move freely anywhere she goes except outside. It was her favorite, so she had 5 copies of almost the same attire in her wardrobe.

She also stays on her balcony whenever she is having anxiety and seeking peace. The last thing she saw still bothers her that much. It replays in her mind. She closed her eyes and then cleared her mind. It has been a while since the last severe case.

She can freely ignore it again. It's just like a sudden poke then the next will take time to occur again. So, what she needs to do is move forward.

Her favorite time of the day ended, and now the dusk was seen through the skies. She needed to prepare to sleep. She no longer eats dinner, perhaps out of habit.

Before close the window, she saw someone running from a distant as if being chased.

Debbie was curious about what was going on; maybe something was up, so she squinted her eyes, trying to gaze thoroughly. It was so dark that she couldn't see it.

However, when the man passes through the areas that have streetlights. It was nothing but a dark running figure, like a shadow. Her eyes widened; she hastily closed the windows, and went inside.

She prayed. The fear won't leave her but instead, it stays inside her room. Seated beside her and waiting to bite and stun her again. It was all hazy, but it was there inside her room. Whenever she is overwhelmed with fear, it bites with all its sharp teeth inside its mouth.

'What is going on? 'She thought. 'Why does everything seem disturbed? '

The shadow she saw, she kept on thinking about it. If it was just a spirit shadow or if it was a spirit of a deceased person who took their own life and was running away from something.

She stopped and began to pray again. Then the spirit of fear inside the room disappeared for good. Some of them appear when there are negative things going on.

'What is stirring them to move? What is seething behind this? 'She thought.

The spirit of fear, mimicking, and shapeshifters are not the same as those high-ranking ones though they can completely climb the ladder when they completely take over unlike the spirit of death. Spirit of death is like a force not a stray.

It is not always something evil. Sometimes it depends on which side they came from, either from the fallen faction or the heaven's side, like the angel of death.

Everything was created by one God, so there's no need to ask who on earth created the angel of death. Yet we are taught that God is all timid and quiet and turns a blind eye to people. The God who created that great wind, making its own entrance to take lives, is also the one whom they believe to be meek and timid. So was God really someone you could overpower? Who knows?

She was able to sleep that night, dreaming of unexplainable things. People she never met, situations she never experienced, places she has never been to, and memories that are not even hers but feel like hers. She doesn't have a literal record of those.

Today, they will be checking the script she finished last night and if it will be chosen. The editors will be cleaning it, and then, after all approvals, they will be looking for the perfect settings for the project and also the cast. She is actually looking forward to the perfect casting. In fact, she has this list of recommendations of actress and actors even the settings.

Her pet cat came to nuzzle to her. Her sister loves cats, so Sailor Moon (literally the name of her cat) came from her sister. She gave her a big, good morning peck and prepared breakfast, and left for her big day.

Cats, indeed, lighten the mood of the house.

She rushed to the subway so fast that she almost hit an old man. The old man was surprised as well, not because of the rush but by something else.

The beginning of the story, takes place in an abandoned mansion. She already has a prospective location.

She entered the building where she's working and looked for her boss to submit the finished project. She knocked three times, but no one is answering. Mr. Johnson was still busy with his call. So she looked for someone she can talk to notify him that she's there. The secretary arrived with a coffee. She signaled to sit down and wait. Secretary Gomez told her the important things she must remember.

Meanwhile, Debbie saw the old man she bumped into earlier. It seems he was able to follow her.

"He must be someone crazy," she muttered.

Secretary Gomez, who was talking to her at that time, was puzzled. As she turned to see what Debbie was looking at.

Seeing the secretary's reaction, she began to explain, "I bumped into that old man earlier; he must have followed me here. He must be someone crazy," she explained. It's a good thing that she was inside the building, and the security won't allow him to enter.

"Are you crazy? I think you are the one who is crazy. There is no one outside," she calmly said.

"What?" she asked, perplexed, with eyes widely open out of shock.

"There is, there is a man outside," her voice softens as she realizes.

"Oh, he left already; he just passed by, you were not able to see him," Debbie said, giving an acceptable excuse.

Her reaction was calm, but her head was clearly on high alert.

She literally bumped into him!

The old man was tapping the glass door of the building. When someone entered, he entered. No one noticed, and the security was not even alerted.

He is now on his way to Debbie.

She wants to hide, but where will she go if she runs into the exit? It will still follow her. If she goes somewhere else either the comfort room, the old man can also enter that place without anyone noticing. She was trembling, probably another bite from the spirit of fear, which was watching her a few inches away from her face.

She closed her eyes deeply shut and started to pray. She was trembling with cold sweat and a cold sensation of the atmosphere, like a bucket of ice had been poured on her.

The sight of the old man walking towards her was visible in her mind even though she had her eyes closed. A hand tap her shoulder, and she actually closes her eyes tightly and stoops low.

"Deborah?" A familiar voice was heard. It was Amy, her coworker. She is assigned to the props department. She is a close friend who approached her for a greetings.

And when she open her eyes to see her coworker, she saw the old man standing behind her friend, but her friend was not aware of it because she could not see him.

"Let's go inside; actually, the boss is calling for you," she said. She also has a business with the boss, so she entered before her. Debbie didn't notice because she was busy looking at the old man who was hovering around the place. She followed Amy inside, leaving the old man standing.

She looked back, and it seemed like the old man was no longer tailing her. Instead, he finally left and started to roam the streets again. He must be going somewhere, maybe to the church like all the others who want to pray and want to be found, wanting to ask forgiveness for taking their own lives. It is not yet his time, so he must roam around for another year while waiting, then another until the assigned time for him is over.
