Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Dragon's Nest

"Dragon's Nest?" Anna shouted from the side, her eyes shining.

Dragons all like to collect gold and silver, so there must be a lot of treasures in the nest.

What a beautiful woman!

The man in front finally noticed the people around Leo, and he swallowed hard.

A little girl as delicate and cute as a porcelain doll, a cold and elegant woman, and a well-behaved barbarian girl.

But then he noticed Anna's staff, and his evil thoughts disappeared.

Only mages can have a staff. In this world, mages are noble, and their status is no less than nobles. They are not someone as small as a pirate group who can afford to provoke.

Behind them were two tall and strong minotaurs. Obviously, they were not nice people.

"Leo, we should go steal the dragon's treasure!" Anna said excitedly, already eager.

Dragon treasure?

Leo also felt a little tempted. He didn't expect this world actually had dragons.

"Guys, I think you should give up." The leader looked at Anna and said, "After the tide went down, the dragon's nest was surrounded by soldiers from a few big empires. The Glan Empire even sent a magic army. Anyone who tried to get close was killed."

A magic army is not made up of mages. It's a group with magic weapons. They are much stronger than regular soldiers, and not to be taken lightly.

"Thanks for the info." Leo said, then asked, "I heard there are some dwarves for sale here. Do you know about that?"

"Yeah," the leader nodded. It wasn't a secret. The adventurer group caught a dwarf and was looking for a buyer. Everyone on the island knew about it.

"But you might have come too late," the big guy said from the side. "A few days ago, someone from the Dark Dragon Empire came and bought the dwarf."

"Are there soldiers from the Dark Dragon Empire here?" Biggy frowned, his eyes full of anger.

Secondy was also angry.

Their home was taken over by the Dark Dragon Empire soldiers. The minotaurs were even made into slaves for mining.

The two of them barely escaped.

The leader looked at Biggy and Secondy and nodded, saying, "Besides the Glan Empire, the people from the Dark Dragon Empire are the most. They all want to steal the treasure from the dragon's nest."

"Leo, what should we do next?" Lilia asked.

She was much calmer than Anna, Biggy, and the others.

Their team had two elves and two minotaurs. That was enough to make the nobles go crazy. It would be hard for Leo, the fake noble, to protect them.

Besides, they killed that Glan Empire baron Kael. If this gets out, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Leo frowned slightly. He wasn't really interested in the dragon's treasure. What he wanted was the dwarf.

But now the dwarf was already in the hands of the Dark Dragon Empire. It would probably be a big problem to try to take him back.

"Whatever, let's go check it out first," Anna said excitedly. It was a dragon's treasure, there must be a lot of cool stuff. She didn't care about the danger at all.

Leo agreed and nodded. He was really curious what the dragons in this world looked like. And he had a danger sense. If something bad happened, he could just run away.

But before that, he had to find the dwarf that the Dark Dragon Empire had bought.

"Hey, do you know where that dwarf is being held?" Leo said, pulling out a coin and throwing it to the leader.

Lilia looked at it with a face full of sadness, but she didn't say anything to stop him.

"Coin!" The man smoothly caught it and put it in his pocket, smiling happily. "The Dark Dragon Empire's ship group is gathered on the west coast. That dwarf is probably already taken to their supply ship. I can find out for you."

"Okay, thanks. When you find the dwarf's location, come find me on the north coast," Leo said. He wasn't worried about them running off with the money. It was just one coin.

"No problem," the man said quickly. Asking about the dwarf's location wasn't really a big deal.

"Leo, aren't we going to steal the dragon's treasure?" Anna asked, pushing forward. She had already taken out a bamboo tube bomb, ready to go.

She had seen the power of this bomb before. If used right, it could definitely threaten a dragon.

"Let's go check it out," Leo said. He was really curious, so he led the group toward the north side of the island.

The dragon's nest was at the cliff on the north side of the island. When the tide went out, it showed up. A group of adventurers found it by accident, and the news spread quickly.

Soon, a lot of adventurer ships came, even some imperial and royal armies.

Leo and his group arrived at the north coast cliff. There were already a lot of adventurers there.

Below, on the sea, nearly a hundred big ships were gathered. All were warships.

Only empires and kingdoms had that kind of power.

"Is the dragon's nest below the cliff?" Anna asked, full of curiosity, pushing through the crowd.

Some people were angry, but when they saw Anna's staff, their anger disappeared quickly, and they made a path for her.

A high-class mage. Even imperial nobles had to treat them nicely. These adventurers dared not mess with her.

Leo and the others followed Anna and easily reached the front of the cliff.

The cliff was steep, and the sea was rough. They couldn't see anything below. A lot of warships were gathered there, and people were moving around on them, arguing about something.

"There's no way to see the dragon's nest from here," Anna said as she got to the edge of the cliff, stretching her neck to look down. It was all foggy, and she couldn't see the nest.

Lilia was shocked and pulled her back quickly.

If she fell from here, she wouldn't die, but she'd be seriously hurt.

[Bip, current survival probability 1%]

Suddenly, a prompt message appeared.

Leo was shocked. There was actually danger here, and his survival probability was only 1%—practically a death sentence.

The prompt never made a mistake.

"This place isn't safe. Let's go somewhere else," he said, warning the others and quickly leaving.

Anna didn't want to go, but Lilia pulled her away.

Leo moved all the way to the back of the crowd, and his survival probability went up to 50%, but it was still not safe.

Was it a dragon attack? Or maybe the soldiers from the empires and kingdoms surrounding them?

He couldn't think of anything else that could be dangerous here.

Leo scanned the area, then walked toward a distant part of the cliff that extended outward. It was open, far from the dragon's nest, and had a great view of everything around.

No danger prompt.

Leo let out a sigh of relief.

"Sir, is that the dragon's nest?" Ava pointed at the cliff wall and exclaimed.

The mist was moving, and a dark hole was barely visible. It was even bigger than the ships below.

"It should be," Leo said softly.

The hole was still about ten meters above the water. Soldiers below threw grappling hooks and climbed up into the cave.

"Leo, are we really not going to steal the dragon's treasure?" Anna was eager. It was too far away to even see what was inside, let alone steal anything.

Leo shook his head. "With so many soldiers here, even if there was treasure, it wouldn't reach us."

Anna looked at the bamboo tube bomb in her hand and sighed in defeat.

The bomb was powerful, but they were too few to take on all those soldiers.

The sea was getting rough, and the tide was rising. The fog on the water quickly blocked everyone's vision, and the dragon's nest disappeared into the mist.

Who knew if there was even a dragon inside?

Leo felt a bit disappointed. He had wanted to see what a dragon looked like in this world.

But now it looked like there was no dragon in there. Otherwise, such a big commotion would have already woken it up.

"Sir." a man ran over and, when he saw Leo, looked relieved.

It was the leader of the pirate group from before.

"Did you find out where the dwarf is?" Leo asked, hopeful.

The man nodded. "He's on the Dark Dragon Empire's supply fleet on the west coast. I checked, and there's only a ten-man squad guarding him. The rest of the soldiers are all at the cliff below."

A ten-man squad was easy to handle.

Leo thought for a second and decided to board the ship and rescue the dwarf.

"Sir, I also heard another piece of information," the man whispered. "There's an unhatched dragon egg in the dragon's nest. That's why all those empire soldiers are here—they're fighting over the egg. It seems they've already made a deal: the egg goes to the Glan Empire, and the treasure inside the nest is divided among the other countries."

"Dragon egg!" Anna shouted, and the others looked excited too.
