Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Attack, Princess Anna

Two water jets were easily destroyed by Lilia.

Right after that, two more shadows rushed out, holding big axes. They attacked with strong force, aiming at Leo.

"Go die!" She frowned, realizing these two guys were experts. She reached for a bamboo tube bomb and was about to light it.

"Don't use the bomb," Leo quickly warned. "The space is too small, it might hurt us."

"Damn," Lilia cursed, put the bomb away, and rushed at a big cloaked man.

Ava also rushed at the other cloaked man.

"Lilia, I'm here to save you!" A girl shouted, holding a staff. Two water jets whistled and shot at Leo again.

"Princess Anna!" Lilia recognized the girl, looking surprised.

"Fuck, save me!" Leo panicked and rolled over, avoiding the two water jets in a messy way.

The water jets shot through the wall behind him, leaving two big holes.

Leo felt cold inside. If he got hit by those water jets, he would have two big blood holes.

"Stop!" Lilia finally realized and quickly stopped the two cloaked men.

She also recognized the two cloaked men, they were from the minotaur clan of the half-beasts.

The elves and the half-beasts weren't friendly, but the minotaurs were an exception.

"Lilia, why are you protecting this human noble? We came to save you," Anna watched Leo carefully, her staff glowing faintly blue, ready to attack.

"Princess Anna, he's not a noble. He's a good guy," Lilia quickly explained.

"There are no good humans. Big shot, let me chop this evil human with one axe!" A minotaur held a big axe, his bull eyes staring at Leo, eager to fight.

Ava stood in front of Leo and glared at the guy.

"Put your weapons away first," Anna stopped the two guys, looked at Lilia and asked, "Lilia, what's going on?"

She knew Lilia hated humans the most, so she wouldn't help a stranger without a reason.

"Princess Anna, this human saved me. He's kind of special, I want to take him to the Elven Forest," Lilia briefly explained what happened when she met Leo.

"Lilia, you're repaying kindness with betrayal. That's worse than the priest!" Leo heard her words and got really angry.

Ava also said, "Lilia, Leo is our tribe's, and he's my husband."

Lilia looked at her and said coldly, "Don't worry, I won't separate you two."

"Big shot, should we tie up this human?" Biggy weighed his axe, his bull eyes looking at Leo with bad intentions.

"Who dares?" Leo shouted and pulled out a bamboo tube bomb. "Ava, get ready."

"OK!" Ava was excited and pulled out a bamboo tube bomb, lit it with a hiss.

At that moment, Leo and Lilia were stunned.

"Ava, you want to kill me? Throw it away, throw it away!" Leo realized and shouted angrily.

He only wanted to scare them, not actually fight.

"What? Aren't we gonna blow them up?" Ava finally realized, staring at the two scary minotaurs.

Leo was speechless. He grabbed the bamboo tube bomb from her and threw it into a nearby alley, then pushed Ava down under him.

Lilia also caught on and quickly threw herself on Anna.

Crash!

A loud explosion shook the ground. The simple brick wall was completely destroyed.

The two big guys were hit by flying bricks and screamed in pain.

A bunch of screams came from the next building—obviously, some innocent people got hurt.

Luckily, Leo and the others had already dropped to the ground and weren't hurt.

"Ava, you really wanted to blow me up!" Lilia glared at Ava, shouting angrily.

"Who told you to attack Leo?" Ava glared back, not backing down at all.

Leo quickly interrupted, "Let's go, someone's coming!"

He heard footsteps coming from the alley. The explosion must have attracted the soldiers on the island.

"Biggy, Secondy, let's go," Anna said to the two stunned minotaurs.

They finally snapped out of their shock and ran after her.

The group moved away from the alley and made sure no one was following before they finally relaxed.

"Leo, right? That thing you had, give me two to play with," Anna said, eyes glowing, staring straight at Leo.

"No way," he said in a bad mood.

"Come on, don't be so stingy. If you don't give me one, I'll take it myself," Anna said, looking at the two minotaurs beside her. "Biggy, Secondy, grab him for me."

The two minotaurs took a step back and shook their heads. They were clearly still scared from the explosion.

"Look at you two, such wimps!" Anna shouted.

"Enough," Leo said, looking at Lilia. "First, we deal with Kael. Then we go our separate ways."

"Lieutenant, are you really not coming back to the Elven Forest with me?" Lilia asked, not wanting to let go.

Leo shook his head. "If you want, you can come with me."

Lilia was tempted, but she hesitated and said, "I have to take Princess Anna back to the Everwood first. You come with me, and then I'll leave with you."

"What?" Anna widened her eyes, shocked. "Lilia, you're going with this human? Voluntarily? Did you fall in love with him?"

Lilia blushed and quickly explained, "Princess, I just want to steal his skills. That bamboo tube bomb was made by him."

She came up with a good excuse.

"Is that true?" Anna doubted, looking at Leo and then at Lilia. "If that's the case, I'll go with you. I already wrote to my father and said I'm not going back to the Elven Forest. I want to explore the world on my own."

"No way. That's too dangerous. And the Elf King won't agree," Lilia said firmly.

"Enough," Leo interrupted the two girls. "Let's deal with the real problem first. What you do after is up to you."

He led the group straight to the White Horse Inn.

It was a fancy hotel where nobles and merchants stayed.

Leo walked up to the counter, tossed a gold coin onto the desk, and asked the clerk, "I'm a friend of Lord Kael. Which room is he in?"

The clerk was a very flirtatious woman. She smiled when she saw the gold and didn't even ask any questions. "Sir, Lord Kael is in the room on the third floor, the farthest window on the east side."

Leo nodded and led the group straight up to the third floor.

Bang!

They found Kael's room and kicked the door open.

Inside the room, the laughter suddenly stopped.

A few people were sitting around a table, surrounded by delicious food and drinks. A few maids were carefully serving them, while soldiers stood guard behind.

"Looks like you're having a good time," Leo walked in confidently.

Kael frowned and looked him up and down. "I don't know who you are," he said.

Next to him, Carl recognized Leo. His eyes widened, and he quickly said, "Lord Kael, this is the traitor from my ship, and that elf!"

Then he noticed Lilia standing nearby and his face lit up.

"An elf!" Kael finally noticed Lilia. He swallowed hard and his eyes sparkled. "Hmm, these three women are all beautiful. Take them!"

He waved his hand, and four soldiers immediately rushed forward.

"Leave it to us," Biggy and Secondy stepped forward, swinging their big axes.

Blood splattered, and the maids screamed.

One soldier was cut in half by the axe, and blood and guts spilled everywhere.

Leo saw this and felt his head go numb.

"Damn it, help!" Kael fell off his chair and landed on the floor in fear, screaming.

Outside the door, a bunch of footsteps came running.

It was clearly Kael's men from the next room.

Leo stayed calm, pulled out a bamboo tube bomb, lit it, and threw it at the door. Then he pulled Ava aside.

Boom!

The whole building shook. A loud scream echoed from the door.

Anna's eyes sparkled as she stared at Leo and said, "Leo, give me two to play with."

Leo didn't pay attention. He looked at Biggy and Secondy, who were still shocked. "Quick, finish them off. Don't let them escape."

They finally snapped out of their fear and swung their axes, killing everyone in the room.

Only Kael was left, sitting on the floor, scared and confused.
