Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Taking the Pirate Ship, Heading to Sal Island

Lilia had already boarded the pirate ship and was killing people left and right.

If it was before, she might not have been a match for these pirates.

But now, with the bamboo tube bombs Leo made, the pirates were so scared by the explosion they ran around in panic, some even dropped to their knees and begged for mercy.

Lilia didn't hold back at all. She killed these guys without mercy.

A few pirates climbed onto the ship using ropes to attack Leo, but Ava dealt with them easily.

"Lilia, save one alive!" Leo said quickly.

Those pirates earlier were talking about going to Flame Island, and they also knew there were fairies there.

He suspected these pirates were connected to the ones who attacked the last adventurer ship.

Soon, the fighting on the ship got quieter.

"Leo, it's safe now," Lilia said, peeking her head out.

"Okay, come up," he said to Ava, grabbed the rope, and with the help of the two girls, climbed up the big ship with difficulty.

The top was a mess, with dead pirate bodies everywhere.

Only a man in his bare upper body was kneeling in a pool of blood, shaking and begging for mercy.

"Sir, please have mercy! This has nothing to do with me. It was the captain's order!" He tried to run to Leo, but Lilia kicked him away.

People are tricky, she wouldn't let this guy get close to Leo.

"I ask, you answer," he looked at the man and said coldly.

"Sure, I'll tell you everything," the man nodded quickly.

Leo looked at him. The man was big and strong, not an ordinary person. He asked, "What position do you have on the ship?"

"Second officer, I'm just a second officer. I only followed orders," the man said quickly, trying to avoid blame.

This guy probably did a lot of bad things.

Leo kept asking, "Where are you from? Why do you know there are fairies on Flame Island?"

"Sal Island. We're pirates from Sal Island. We took a reward mission and found out there were fairies on Flame Island," the second officer didn't hide anything.

Sal Island was their destination.

So the people who attacked their ship before were still alive, and they even put up a reward.

"Sir, will my grandparents be in danger?" Ava looked worried. There were probably more pirates taking the mission, and the barbarians on Flame Island might not be able to win.

"Don't worry, I left some bombs behind. There's no danger," Leo comforted her.

Lilia looked at the man and asked coldly, "Are there any other fairies on Sal Island?"

The second officer nodded, then shook his head. "I heard fairies appeared, but no one has seen them. And now Sal Island is in chaos. There are soldiers there, and our pirates don't dare get close to check."

"Soldiers? Why are there soldiers on the island?" Lilia frowned. Sal Island wasn't under the empire's control. It was just a transfer point for supplies. There might be some soldiers, but not an army.

The second officer looked at her and said, "I heard someone found The Fountain of Immortality. A lot of empire soldiers came here, and even some nobles and high-class mages showed up."

The Fountain of Immortality?

Lilia didn't believe anyone really found the Fountain of Immortality.

But the fact that there were soldiers and mages on Sal Island made things harder for her.

She looked at Leo and asked, "Leo, do you have any more questions?"

Leo shook his head and made a cutting motion across his throat.

He wasn't someone who showed mercy. And these pirates deserved what was coming to them.

"Sir, please have mercy! I told you everything!" the second officer cried, kneeling on the ground and bowing over and over. He was so scared that he peed on himself.

Lilia stepped forward and snapped his neck. Then she threw the body into the sea in disgust.

Leo said, "Get the supplies from our boat and bring them up. We're taking this pirate ship."

The pirate ship was big, strong, and fast way better than their old wooden boat.

"Okay," the two girls said, grabbed the rope, and quickly swam to their boat to carry the supplies.

Leo wasn't idle either. He forced himself to throw the pirate bodies into the sea, even though it made him feel sick. He almost threw up a few times.

Especially the pirates who were blown up by the bamboo bombs. Their bodies were pierced by sharp obsidian, and some were just bloody messes.

He quickly cleaned the deck and checked the cabin to make sure there were no survivors. With the hint, he wasn't worried about danger.

The ship was empty. All the pirates were killed by Lilia.

But he wasn't completely empty-handed. He found a big box of golden coins.

One coin could be traded for 10,000 silver coins. Ten coins were enough for a normal person to live on for the rest of their life.

And there were thousands of coins in that box.

"Money, baby!" Leo's eyes lit up. He grabbed a handful of coins and sniffed them.

Yep, it was the smell of money.

"Hmph, such a greedy person," came Lilia's voice from the cabin, full of disgust.

"Can't you walk without making noise?" Leo glared at her and closed the box, carefully putting it away.

When they got to Sal Island, they could trade these for useful supplies.

"Let's go. Time to leave," he said, leaving the cabin.

Ava raised the sail and the ship moved through the waves.

With this big ship, they could reach Sal Island in just three days.

Leo wandered around the ship, curious. There were only two catapults on the ship. That was it. No other long-range weapons.

He found Lilia on the deck, looking worried. He asked, "On these big ships, besides catapults, is there anything else?"

That stuff was big, slow, and not very powerful. It wasn't even very accurate. It wasn't good for sea battles.

Lilia snapped out of her thoughts and said, "There's also bows, crossbows, and Magic Artillery. But those things are only used by the army. Especially Magic Artillery—it was made by Alchemists, even rarer. Only the best ships of powerful empires have them."

"Is that so?" Leo thought. If they were going to travel on the sea for a long time, he needed to figure out how to make cannons. Even a steamship.

Lilia stood at the front of the ship, looking at the thick fog rising up and the endless sea. She was worried. She and Princess Anna had gotten separated on Sal Island. She had been captured by a group of evil, dirty humans, and no one knew where Princess Anna had gone.

Now, there were human nobles and mages on Sal Island. This made her even more worried about Anna's safety.

Leo noticed her worry and said, "Don't worry. If the princess is on Sal Island, we'll find a way to save her."

"Okay," Lilia nodded. Thinking about the scary bamboo bombs, she felt more confident.

Leo looked at her with a sly smile on his face.

He had already changed into a fancy long robe he found in the cabin.

He turned to Lilia and asked, "Lilia, do I look like a noble now?"

He spread his arms and spun around, proud of himself.

"Definitely not!" Lilia said right away.

She didn't want to admit that Leo was a noble. Those guys were all evil and smelled bad.

"What? Look again," Leo said, not happy. Why didn't she think he looked like a noble?

Ava came over and stared at him. "Sir, you do look like a noble. And you're really handsome."

"Ugh!" Lilia spat and glared at Ava. "You're such a fool."

"Only my Ava is smart," he said, patting Ava's head. He was getting more and more fond of this girl. She was polite, kind, and most importantly, understanding.

"Hmph!" Lilia watched the two of them being close and made a loud noise of disapproval.

Leo didn't care. He said, "From now on, I'm a baron. You two are my servants."

"Die!" Lilia went crazy, jumped on him, and pinned him down. "Say it, who's your servant?"

"Wait, this is just a disguise. You're an elf, and Ava is a barbarian beauty. If we land on Sal Island like this, we'll be attacked. Only nobles can protect you."

"Leo, that's a good plan," Ava agreed with a nod.

Leo said, "Lilia, look how well-behaved Ava is. Say 'master' to me."

"Like hell!" Lilia was angry and jumped on him again.

"Ava, help me!" Leo wasn't a match for her. He asked Ava for help in a panic.

Ava smiled. "I'm not helping. And I can't beat Madam Lilia either. Mister Leo, you two look like a couple. Just pretend to be married."

"Idiot!" Lilia turned red and changed her target. She rushed at Ava. "I think you're begging for a beating."

"Stop, Madam Lilia, I'm sorry!"

Leo leaned against the ship's front, watching the two girls play around. The sea breeze blew, and he looked very relaxed.
