Chapter 21 - Echoes...

Section E POV:

The air in the the room felt thick that night— like the city itself knew something ugly had just gone down.

We'd all heard pieces of it: Wilson Corp's Keeper, Davidson from Martinez, and Stella Montgomery had met with Kiefer Watson and Yuri behind closed doors.

When people that powerful move in silence, you don't wait for official reports — you listen to what isn't being said.

Calix paced by the table, running a hand through his hair. "They weren't there to talk. You don't shut down an entire building's surveillance for a friendly chat."

Edrix leaned back, arms crossed. "we spent more than 3 hours but any information we found it suddenly —poof. Gone. That's not business, that's warning."

Mayo exhaled, low and shaky. "They finally found out what Yuri did, didn't they? About Jay's family… the marriage deal."

Silence followed. None of us wanted to say it, but we all knew — Yuri had manipulated Jay's family into forcing her engagement with him, just so he could win against keifer...

Blaster slammed his fist against the wall. "She didn't deserve that. She trusted Cin, trusted all of us, and we—"

Cin flinched, eyes darting away. "I didn't know what Yuri planned," he said quietly, but no one believed him. Even Eman, usually the calm one, looked ready to snap.

Rory pulled up the muted footage on his tablet — just twenty seconds of shadows moving through an empty hallway. "That's them," he whispered. "Keeper, Stella, and David. They went in dressed like executives and walked out like ghosts."

Drew gave a humorless laugh. "They gave Yuri and Watson their 'closure.' Whatever that means."

Felix rubbed his temples. "Means they're finished. Maybe not dead, but erased. And if they ever go near Jay again…" He trailed off.

Denzel finished for him, voice flat. "They won't. No one's stupid enough to cross those three twice."

We sat there in silence, all of us who used to call ourselves her section e— the ones she laughed with, trusted, and loved. Now, we were just the echo of a chapter she didn't know had already closed.

Cin stared at his phone, at the unread message still sitting in Jay's chat. "Do you think she'll ever find out what they did?"

Rory shook his head slowly. "No. And maybe that's mercy."

Because if Jay ever knew what Keeper, David, and Stella had done — the threats, the power plays, the bloodless vengeance —

she'd never smile the same way again.
