Chapter 38 - chapter 38

Screen 1 – Escape Begins

Sans snaps them into motion.

"Sunny. Now."

The Thousand Sunny dives forward as chaos erupts.

Nami blankets the sea with sudden fog and lightning shifts.

Jinbe threads the helm through closing ships with calm precision.

Chopper and Brook man defenses, repelling boarders.

Carrot scouts ahead, calling enemy angles.

Big Mom's fleet tightens the net from every side.

Sans watches the gaps, timing their breaks.

"Keep speed," he says. "We run smart—or we don't run at all."

Screen 2 – Big Mom's Hunger Rage

Big Mom snaps.

The word "Wedding Cake" echoes as she enters full hunger madness.

She leaps between islands, smashing her own territory without care, closing distance fast.

Sans fires blasters — not to beat her, but to slow her.

Explosions force detours. Smoke blinds. Debris buys seconds.

He clicks his tongue.

"Yeah… no. That thing doesn't go down easy."

For the first time, Sans isn't confident — he's calculating survival.

Screen 3 – The Mirror World Play

The mirrors save them.

Carrot and Chopper slipping into the Mirror World turns panic into strategy. The crew vanishes, reappears, reroutes. Big Mom's children lose track.

Sans stays sharp, not reckless.

When Katakuri appears and blocks the mirrors, Sans doesn't jump in to fight him. He knows better.

He pulls Luffy aside.

"This one's yours. I'll make sure you get the fight."

Sans focuses on support instead — clearing paths, delaying pursuers, keeping the escape routes open.

Luffy vs. Katakuri stays a captain's trial, not a team brawl.

Screen 4 — Sans Analyzes the Fight (Anime-Style)

Sans doesn't jump in. He watches.

Eyes half-closed. Mind racing.

"Yeah… this isn't speed. It's timing."

He sees it clearly: Katakuri isn't reacting. He's already there.

Future sight. Advanced Observation.

Sans mutters to Luffy while retreating:

"He's not stronger because of mochi.

He's stronger because he knows what you'll do before you do."

Katakuri's awakening turns the field hostile.

Gear Fourth hits hard — but predictability kills it.

Sans' conclusion, calm and serious:

"You don't need more power.

You need to change when you decide."

This fight isn't about fists.

It's about perception.

Screen 5 — Mirror Escape

Sans grabs Luffy and yanks Charlotte Brûlée through the mirror.

Glass shatters. They tumble into another room.

Big Mom's fist crashes in seconds later, tearing walls apart.

Sans clicks his tongue:

"Yep. Still terrifying."

He teleports again—barely—buying Luffy time to breathe, think, and reset.

Screen 6 — Running the Mirror Maze

Sans grips Luffy's collar, Brûlée dragged along screaming.

Mirrors flash past as Big Mom's family floods the halls.

Crackers shatter. Mochi slams walls.

Sans mutters, calm but sharp:

"Too many. Don't fight. Survive."

He warps corner to corner, dodging by inches, turning the mirror world into a nonstop escape route.

Screen 7 — Mirror World: Sans' Analysis

Sans drops Luffy inside Katakuri's mirror dimension.

He watches closely, eyes sharp.

"His future sight isn't magic. It's timing plus calm. Break the calm, you break the vision."

He points at Katakuri.

"He dodges before you move. So don't attack straight. Force mistakes. Endurance wins this."

Luffy grins.

"Got it."

Screen 8 — Katakuri's Perfection Shatters

Flambé fires a hidden dart from outside the Mirror World.

Sans reacts instantly. A bone wall snaps up. Ten sharp blaster shots force her back.

"Don't interfere," Sans says coldly. "This is a warrior's fight. Not a kid's game."

Luffy keeps fighting.

Katakuri sees everything.

He's furious — not at Luffy, but at Flambé.

Without hesitation, Katakuri stabs himself in the stomach. Blood spill.

"A fair fight."

He throws off his coat, revealing his real face — fangs, jaw unmasked.

For the first time, Katakuri stops pretending.

The fight resets. Equal ground. No excuses.

Screen 9 — Luffy's Growth: Future Sight Awakens

This is the shift.

Luffy stops panicking. He watches. He breathes.

For the first time, he isn't just reacting — he's anticipating.

He starts to:

Dodge before attacks land

Counter mid-motion

Read Katakuri's intent

Stay calm under pressure

Tiny moments stack up. Misses turn into near-hits. Near-hits turn into clean dodges.

Katakuri notices.

> "So… you're seeing it too."

A small smile crosses his face — respect, not mockery.

Nearby, Sans watches silently.

He tightens his focus, syncing Observation with Armament.

> "So this is level two…"

Sans begins mastering advanced Haki control, learning not just to use it — but to time it.

Two fighters. Two paths.

Both evolving in real time.

Screen 10 — Snakeman and the End of the Duel

Gear Fourth: Snakeman changes everything.

Luffy stops trying to overpower the future.

He chases it.

His punches curve mid-air. They accelerate after missing.

Katakuri predicts — and still gets hit.

Python.

Black Mamba.

King Cobra.

The Mirror World shatters under speed and Haki.

Final clash. Rubber and mochi collide.

Both fall.

Katakuri rises… then drops to his back, calm, honest.

> "Will you come back and defeat Big Mom?"

> "Yeah."

Katakuri smiles.

Nearby, Sans steps forward, carves a small bone mark on the ground beside him.

> "Good fight. You sharpened my Haki."

Respect earned.

Not enemies anymore.

Screen 12 — Sanji Saves Them

Luffy slips, landing on a tiny shard of mirror above the ocean.

Soldiers close in. Sans fires back, buying seconds.

Sanji dives without hesitation, catches Luffy mid-fall, and kicks off the waves.

They land on the Sunny.

The crew exhales.

Screen 13 — Big Mom's Arrival

The air shifts.

Sweet. Heavy. Terrifying.

Big Mom smells the cake.

She roars and surges forward, riding Prometheus and Zeus like living disasters. Fire and lightning tear the sky apart.

Sans fires his blasters. They fizzle out.

He lands hard, breath shallow.

> "Yeah… this is beyond me."

Big Mom ignores him and locks onto the Sunny.

One punch cracks the sea.

Another blast of lightning nearly shatters the mast.

The crew braces.

This isn't a fight anymore.

This is survival.

Their captain is back.

Screen 14 — The Escape

Jinbe steps forward, calm and absolute.

> "Let me handle the helm."

He reads the sea like a language. Waves bend to his will. Enemy ships flip aside as if tossed by giants. Big Mom's attacks miss by inches.

Nami shouts.

Franky answers.

"COUP DE BURST!"

The Sunny launches into the sky, blasting past fire and thunder.

Then the Sun Pirates arrive, forming a wall between the Sunny and Big Mom's rage.

Jinbe stays behind.

> "I'll rejoin you later."

Luffy grips the rail.

> "Don't die! We're waiting!"

Sans nods.

> "Yeah. We'll be right there."

Screen 15 — Hunger Ends

Big Mom reaches the cake.

She eats.

The rage vanishes instantly.

Fire dims. Thunder quiets. The chase stops.

Big Mom smiles, satisfied at last.

Sans exhales, shoulders dropping.

> "Good. Now we live."

Screen 16 — Escape from Totto Land

The Sunny breaks into open sea.

Totto Land fades behind them, still burning with chaos.

Sans finally relaxes, leaning back.

> "Survived a Yonko… that's enough stress for one lifetime."

For once, the sea feels quiet.
