Chapter 42 - The Demon Kings’ First Strike

Two days after the announcement of the Demon King, Kaelen's spy servants reported an imminent threat. From the hills and valleys, their invisible eyes and ears monitored every movement on the horizon.

> "Urgent report," murmured one of the servants, its voice resonating in Kaelen's mind.

"The Demon King who declared war is approaching. He is accompanied by another being of equal power… another Demon King. Together, they command an army of twenty thousand demons, advancing methodically toward Verdalis."

Kaelen furrowed his brow. Even though he and the other Guardians individually surpassed these Demon Kings, the scale of the force they brought could not be ignored.

> "Two Demon Kings… twenty thousand demons…" he murmured, his voice calm but heavy with gravity. "Their offensive is clear: they intend to take control of the kingdom."

The servants detailed every movement: tight formations, flashes of dark energy in the sky, and the intimidating aura emanating from the two Demon Kings. Kaelen mentally noted every detail, aware that each report would be crucial for Ryo when deciding on strategy.

> "Prepare the rest of the servants and alert Verdalis' armed forces," Kaelen ordered. "Every unit must be in position. The spies will track the enemy, the army will strike at the first sign of attack."

The Guardian in charge of the armed forces, Tavric, stepped forward and spoke:

> "All my servants are already deployed in formation. Verdalis' defense units and cavalry are ready to intercept the enemy. We will channel their advance and protect the villages and plains."

Kaelen nodded, relaying the orders to all Guardians and servants:

> "Spies, continue tracking every movement. Tavric, coordinate your troops and prepare defenses. Every detail matters. Verdalis must remain unharmed."

The wind swept across the plains, carrying with it the shadow of an imminent war. Two Demon Kings were approaching, their massive army advancing like a black tide, but Kaelen and Tavric remained calm, ready to coordinate espionage and armed forces.

Kaelen reported directly to Ryo:

> "Lord, the enemy is advancing faster than expected. The two Demon Kings command twenty thousand demons and are closing in on Verdalis. Tavric and the armed forces are in position."

Ryo, eyes narrowed, murmured gravely:

> "I didn't expect them to arrive so quickly… Their audacity is surprising."

He stood, his energy wings shimmering slightly as he prepared to move.

> "We cannot allow Verdalis to be touched. I will intercept the enemy army before it reaches our lands. Kaelen, orchestrate the defense: ensure every servant, spy, and armed unit is ready to act at my signal."

> "Verdalis will remain protected…" murmured Kaelen. "Even in the face of the Demon Kings' era, we will not falter."
