I woke up today feeling down and weak I went into the toilet to have my bath the work as a house keeper has not been an easy job for me though I am respected as the head of the maids and slaves but still doesn't mean I love the position that I am everyday is filled with its own worry and problem I just wish I would get out of all this one day.
I walked round the house to inspect if everything was in it right order I kept on walking and noticed the King's Royal chamber was slightly opened I peeped in and saw the king perhaps having a discussion with the prince I exhaled and continued walking.
I stopped at the front of the prince room I heard this sound but I wasn't sure it was from his room even if it was who was in the prince room because I know the prince is with the king curiosity got the better side of me before I could rethink on who it may be I flunked the door open.
Right in front of me was a shivering guard with a bundle of currency. What the hell are you doing with that currency I asked with anger of course why won't I get angry almost everyday something is being stolen in this palace and everything is always brought to me to be solved this is a culprit here and I won't let him go unpunished.

I needed money for my son's surgery I was stranded and didn't know what to do so I had no other choice than to do this am sorry. For how long have you been stealing. I don't know why but I just felt pity for this guard standing right before me I don't know whether he's saying the truth but something about him is saying more than what he just said.

I looked at him for a while I was speechless I was clueless what do you want me to do stare at the guard for as long as I can or rack a brain that is not ready to give any clue l suddenly heard footsteps yes I heard footsteps and whose footsteps is that the prince the prince he is the only one that walks like he is going for a battle I saw the guard made his way to the toilet and before I could count few seconds I saw myself with the guard in the prince toilet.

I stepped into my room and perceived some kind of odour everywhere smelled of old sweats I sat on my bed and before I could turn over to the other side I noticed one of my drawers were open though my money were still intact that was enough evidence that someone came into my room I walked up to the drawer and saw that lot of things were scattered all around the floor. Who on earth came to my room! I shouted out because that was only what could calm me down.
Right now it wasn't the opened drawer that was making me angry nor the scattered stuffs but I saw what I hate most I detest the most I saw mom's handkerchief I saw her wretched handkerchief I threw and burnt everything attached to her in this room so how on earth did this handkerchief find it way back here I know this is her room and dad forced me to stay here but this place doesn't feel like her room anymore because there's nothing connected to her here except this handkerchief am seeing for the first time after so many years to be honest I wish my mom was different I wish she was the good woman in the story my dad told me about years back I just wish. I looked at the handkerchief for a while and held it like my life depended on it when I realised what I was doing I dropped it quickly and took it out of my room.

We were about to get out of the toilet when I heard the door open again. I looked at the guard with anger he caused all of this he caused all this nonsense I had other things to attend to I wonder what would befall me when I get out of here I know the royal king would be in search of me by now. I shouldn't have pitied you should have called the king the moment I saw you. Am sorry am so sorry I.. I...I.. I caused it all but am sorry. Really is that all what you can say you dumb ass I have other important things to do but here I am caged in a toilet. Am sorry I should have found another way other than thinking of stealing but..but I tried I... I.. Was stranded that's why I couldn't think further anymore am sorry I brought this upon you we would soon be out of here soon I know that.
I sighed I knew this guard did what he thought was best I wish I could help him but I know I can't. Try speak with the king he might be considerate before I could end my statement we heard the door knob to the toilet click fear filled me to the brim I knew we were going to get punished I knew we were going down soon but before I could imagine what would happen to me it all stopped the door knob went back to it normal state and before I could understand what was going on the door to the room flunk open and closed indicating that Prince Lionel as left the room.
