Chapter 6 - Pocket space

Grandmother Chen left to talk with the villagers, leaving the three of them alone in her room. Yun looked around the room for a bit while Akira and his brother were still sitting down at the table.

Yun looked at Shina's war-axe closely. "It's been three thousand years since that war… and now there is a possibility of the history repeating itself."

Remembering the battlefield, a sweat broke across his face. Why wouldn't it? Wherever Yun looked, fighting was going on, blood, bodies of dead people, it was hell on earth.

"Yun, I'm sleepy," Akira's brother yawned, stretching his arms and legs.

"Yeah." Relief washed over Yun's face, glad for the distraction. He sat beside Akira's brother while he rested his head on Yun's lap, immediately snoring.

Yun looked at Akira beside him. Akira looked at him with soft eyes. He wrote, 'Don't spoil him too much, but thank you for being kind to him,' on the floor.

After some time, Grandmother Chen came back. The villagers had agreed to help. They'd all use their powers simultaneously to create a massive energy signature that would mask the pocket space creation on Yun's signal. The only thing to do now was wait.

Three hours left…

Two hours left…

One hour left…

The hunt begins.

"The twenty-four hours are over, but it will take time for Nexis to find this place." Surprisingly, Yun was not scared. His plan was perfect, there was no possibility that this would fail.

Or so they thought. The phone rang beside Grandmother Chen.

"The man in the black suit is here. His eyes are red, and he also asked for three boys and one woman. He just went inside the village!" a man from the phone said.

"What?!" Grandmother's loud voice even woke up Akira's brother with a jolt. "Yun! Quickly! Give the signal!"

Sweat broke across Yun's face. Without asking for an explanation, Yun ran toward the window. He looked at Grandmother Chen, she was ready, war-axe raised.

At the same time, Yun gave the signal.

The war-axe sliced through the air, tearing open Pocket Space like paper. Outside, the villagers' powers erupted, a massive energy signature that masked the opening completely.

Not wasting any time, the three of them went inside the Pocket Space, and the door to the Pocket Space vanished behind them.

Inside the Pocket Space, everything was bright. There was nothing but bright light, but not enough to blind someone. The main problem was that it was small, too small for three people!

Only two people could fit inside and sit freely. Akira's brother took one side while Akira sat on the other, leaving Yun no space to sit, so he decided to just stand.

The Pocket Space Grandmother Chen created had its own dimension. The rules of the Guardian would not work there, meaning Yun's powers were back in this place.

"YUN!" a voice rang inside Yun's brain.

Blackness completely covered Yun's vision, and suddenly everything became bright, and then a chamber filled with all colors of flowers was in front of him. There was a man standing, but it was too bright to see him clearly.

Yun knelt on the ground with his head down.

"I bow before the Almighty God of Heaven."

"Yun, you're in a different dimension." The God's voice filled the whole chamber, but it was not like noise at all, if anything, it was like healing magic.

"I received help from a descendant of Shina. I'm currently inside Pocket Space."

"That's really good. I cannot see what's happening on Earth, that's why I am always worried."

"Please don't worry about me, Father. Everything is under control."

"That's what I expect from you, but what happened to your crystal stone? The connection suddenly broke."

"I used that to kill a demon, but don't worry. Now that I have Pocket Space, I'll turn that weapon into a crystal stone with my power again."

"Eighteen years ago, when that boy was born, I sensed the power of the Earth's Guardian within him. I managed to stop the Demon King then, but I couldn't do it a second time. That's why I chose to send you, to protect that boy."

"I should go, Father."

"Take care of yourselves there, but also do not forget your mission."

Brightness covered Yun's vision. Everything went black. When he opened his eyes, he was back in the Pocket Space.

"Yun! What happened? Wake up!" Akira's brother's crying filled his ears as soon as he woke up.

Yun realized he was no longer standing—he was sitting on something soft. He turned his head, he was sitting on Akira's lap. Akira's face was covered in sweat, but he seemed relieved after seeing Yun fine.

Yun immediately tried to get up, but Akira pulled him down again. Akira shook his head.

"What do you mean, no?" Yun muttered, and then he adjusted himself, facing Akira.

A green wire emerged from Yun's palm, glowing softly. He gently wrapped it around Akira's damaged throat. Warmth spread through the scarred tissue.

"Now, you will be able to speak again." Yun let out a big sigh of relief.

Akira and his brother were completely shocked.

"Yun! You awakened your powers? Are you a healer? What is your rank?" Akira's brother's questions were nonstop just then.

"Nuo, stop asking Yun so many questions."

The room fell silent.

Akira's eyes widened. He touched his throat, disbelief washing over his face. His voice, hoarse, unused for so long. He placed a hand over his mouth, unable to stop the smile spreading across his face.

Nuo's face brightened, and he started crying again. "Brother! I thought you wouldn't be able to speak ever again…" He immediately wiped his tears. "Thank you, Yun, you're the best healer!"

"I'm not a healer, that's just one of my abilities, but I can't use my powers outside of this space."

"Yun, why is that? Yun?" Akira said, looking confused.

"Why are you using my name twice?" Yun couldn't help but let out a laugh.

"YUN!" "YUN!" "YUN!" "YUN!" familiar yet unknown voices broke Yun's smiling face.

Golden blood started coming from his ears and once again everything turned black.
