Chapter 7 - Chapter 7-Magician

Every time I create something, the world asks: what must be reduced for it to exist?

I do not summon fire, but rather bring the world into a state of mind that is fire.

There are three schools of Magicians, one of which is the school of Existence, followed by Aurora.

She can create shadows, light, fire, or water – but none of it comes from nature. Everything comes from a place in her head, from a place she imagines back into the real world.

Aurora does not create from nothingness, but she validates existence, and the world is forced to validate it.

It is not magic that is her talent. She rewrites reality, giving substance to ideas.

The fire she lit was not the heat of friction and air, but the concept of "fire" constructed by her mind.

Everything she created was the result of her own design, unbound by the laws of nature, but the world adjusted itself to remain in balance.

There was one particularly dangerous skill on this path: The erasure of existence.

Everything she touches simply vanishes. Not burned, not destroyed, but erased from existence, as if it never was.

However, this is a power that comes at a very high price. Every time Aurora uses it, a portion of the Essence of Life, the fundamental energy that sustains all living beings, is lost with it.

Essence is the foundation of life within us all, unique to each individual according to their body's strength to contain the energy within. Those with strong Essence will survive the distortions of the world, resist the void, and strengthen their bodies to withstand the effects of erasure.

However, when the Essence is completely depleted, the creature will not die a natural death. It collapses because its very existence vanishes, its flesh disintegrates, and its soul is erased.

A terrifying ability, but there are other roles more troublesome than the Magician. Such as the Crown, Conjurer, Extraction, and Plague. Each role possesses destructive power more terrifying than that of the Magician.

Meanwhile, Kyle continued to stare at Aurora. Waiting for an explanation about the ritual and the abilities she possessed.

Kyle tilted his head, signalling for her to speak immediately.

Aurora sighed and said, "Look at your shoulder!" Kyle looked at his shoulder as instructed, then continued, "It's gone? That's the magical power I possess, mastering the role of a Magician."

Kyle tilted his head and said, "Magician, you say? What do you mean? I don't understand."

In his memory, Kyle could find no explanation for this power or the supernatural things that now haunted him. He couldn't even remember how he could think of such things, let alone suspect that Aurora would know about them.

Aurora nodded and tried to explain so that he would understand what she meant.

"Magician, one of the twelve roles. Mastering it is easy, just adjust your Essence capacity and bear the risk for the whole thing."

"One more thing, you can also master it without a ritual. By entering into a contract with another creature." Aurora's face was serious and sweat appeared afterwards.

Kyle was silent, digesting those words...

"A contract, huh? Like in one of the video games I used to play, where the protagonist made a contract with a female demon and gained the ability to manipulate shadows because of it. Interesting..." he thought to himself.

"Could it be creatures like ghosts, spirits, demons?" Kyle asked with a straight face.

"Actually, I don't know, and I've never made a contract with another creature," Aurora replied, shaking her head.

Kyle fell silent, slightly panicked by his words. He thought, "Did I say something wrong? Oh no, I'm being influenced by the atmosphere." He muttered, biting his lower lip.

Aurora glanced at him and said, "Is something wrong?" She put her black gloves back on afterwards.

"It's nothing," Kyle replied, standing up and excusing himself to leave.

A voice echoed from behind, and Kyle froze, his heart pounding afterwards. He glanced over, lowering his hat slightly.

"Where are you going? Can I come with you?" asked Aurora, walking closer to him, her blue eyes glistening afterwards.

Kyle sighed slowly, trying to prevent Aurora from following him this time. But, on the other hand, he felt that Aurora could be useful for the search.

His goal was still the same as before: to find out the details of Kyle's death and to find the person who had spoken to him at that time.

"Well... There's one condition: you have to pay for things like food or transportation. How about it?" He chuckled after saying that, knowing Aurora had lost out because the condition favoured her.

But she smiled. She nodded in agreement to the request. Kyle, hearing this, was startled. He confirmed it and looked closely at Aurora's face.

His face was expressionless, only seeing Aurora smiling at him. But he also felt that there was another meaning behind that smile that he did not understand.

Kyle was sweating a little as he stepped forward, his hand reaching for the doorknob.

"Oh yes..." Aurora approached him. "Here's the key," she muttered, handing him the key.

Click...

The door opened, and they both stepped out of the house. Kyle made sure to lock it again and, noticing the window was still open, chose to close it from the outside.

After that, feeling everything was ready, he felt a little relieved and his breathing calmed down. Kyle closed his eyes and walked calmly towards the place where Kyle and Flove were to meet the person who had instructed them to perform the blood ritual.

The meeting place was not far from Flove's house, just straight ahead after passing her house. Kyle chose to take a horse-drawn carriage to get there as quickly as possible, saving time so he could think about his next plan.

Today, the city suddenly became very crowded. Because on Sunday evening, there was a festival held on the main street of the city centre, or more precisely in the large park "Flotine." The location was straight ahead and opposite the road to Flove's house, which was on the left.

The horse-drawn carriage they were riding in had some difficulty navigating the main road, which was crowded with people and lined with street vendors. The coachman had no other choice but to peek out the back window and discuss the situation with Kyle.

"Sir, I'm afraid this carriage won't be able to get through that crowd. But would you agree to take another route? I think it would be faster if you agreed." The coachman muttered, waiting for an answer.

They both looked at each other and agreed to his suggestion. The coachman smiled, the sound of the whip accompanied by the neighing of the horses.

The carriage turned into the alley on the left and drove along a quiet path. They travelled through the narrow alley to avoid the traffic jam on the main road.

After about ten minutes, they arrived. Kyle turned to the left, more precisely to look at the blue tent where the two of them were with that person.
