You went downstairs, full of somewhat expectation. Who was this mystery "someone" and why was it so important to meet them.
You couldn't help but clutch your pearls in anticipation for two things; An absolute distater, or a big reveal.
As you descended down the flight of stairs you could hear chuckles and inaudible conversations echoing from the living room on the ground floor, instantly... your anticipation to meet this person grew heavier...it was just like when you met Your step cousin Daniel for the first time.
You hastened your footsteps and in no time you were already at the foot of the steps and without wasting much time you stomped towards your mother, who sat down on one of the couchs facing towards another figure who sat down on the one opposite to her.
You sighed as you reached her side, to announce your coming because apparently, they didn't notice that you had arrived as they were so deep into thier conversation that they lost awareness of thier sorrounding.
You nodded at your mother knowingly and she gasped stood up, chuckled briefly, smacked her lips and threw her arms around your shoulders.
"Oh darling welcome, i would love to introduce you to someone" she said beaming and subtly gestured towards the figure that sat before her.
You looked at them, something you noticed you hadn't done since you came here and you saw that the figure was actually a "He" and a handsome sexy one at that.
Instantly in he stood up and you caught a new discovery, if you ever had a type before...this was it. There was nothing that he lacked in physical appearance...he was tall..but not too tall and not short either...he was light skinned, had a buzz cut and on top of it all he wore glasses.... those glasses!!!. You were an absolute whore for anyone with nerdy tendencies, but there was something else...he was oddly familiar too.
You beamed immediately, your lips spreading thin around your face...this would be interesting...you knew it!. He stood up immediately and stretched out his hands towards you for a greeting and you took it almost immediately... smiling as you both clasped each other's hands, maintaining eye contact. A heavy feeling of desire stuck in your troath, trying to claw it's way out, you opened your mouth and exhaled in an attempt to ease the tension and to calm your over beating heart...but this yielded no result. And so you were stuck with it.
"Hi, my name's aAnabel" You said, your eyes cutting out from the knowing stares you both exchanged, you lowered your gaze and fondled your hair....no way that you were this shy?!. He held your chin, a gesture that sent a super sensation across your body, he raised it up and looked into your eyes ...
"Uh...i will give you two some space" You heard your mother say, but you didn't reply her...you didn't care at all, at least she knew to leave the premises because the sexual tension was tuning up every second and she didn't want to get caught up in it.
"Don't you remember me?" He said, in a low growl that was quite identical to Daniel's (your cousin) morning voice..., you could hear your mother's platform shoes from a distance as it clomped repeatedly... climbing the stairs.
You looked at his face knowingly, there was something famalilier about it, but you couldn't quite place your hand around it and so you smiled and shaked your head, admitting to your obliviousness.
You both broke off from all the attraction and tensing mood and with sweat trickling down your body, regardless of the Air condition, you slumped on the couch and he followed suite too.
"I don't" you said as you both went back into the eye contact...
He smiled
"Remember that one time when you pushed me down the school stairs because i stole your pencil..?" He said and you stared... dumbfounded...
"Uh...."
"Or that one time we ran off into the rain and played all night and we ended up catching a fever for one week"
"Hmmmm..." It was coming back to you
"Or when we caught locusts and fried it with a lot of salt and ended up not liking it because of the level of saltiness?"
"Well..." You remembered.
"Or that time we cried overnight because, I was moving out with my parents the next day and we were scared of not seeing each other again?."
"Yess..." You said with a shaky voice, was it really him?
"Do you remember?"
Of course you could, although this was about fifteen years ago, of course you could! It was afterall one of the only happy memories you had and it was the highlight of your childhood! And his name....the name of that one boy that you formed an inseparable bond with....
"Danny" you said exhaling, fighting off the urge to cry.
"Hello Anabel" he said and you rushed towards him, hugging him tight in a warm embrace and without warning you started to cry, sobbing your tears rubbing off on his shoulders, leaving a damp mark on his shirt.
In that sitting position, he too teared up but he quickly cleaned it off...he needed to stay stable. This was afterall his first love and he was sure this was the same for her.
He never stopped thinking about her .... even when he was abroad...he never stopped...
She smiled,
"I missed you" she said tightening her hug...
It was about to go down because this was yet, another Daniel who held significance in her life.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket, a message from Daniel the tormentor probably, she heard footsteps, Daniel her cousin materialised, he bowed subtly, jealous...angry...envy....she didn't know...he quickly rushed back up stairs....and there was Daniel her childhood love hoisted up in her embrace..
"What in the world..." She thought as she realised her reality...three daniels on her arm....a game of love...
