Chapter 23 - Heated Rivalry.

"Hi" Daniel said as he stretched open his hands in expectant of an embrace from you. But you weren't having it, his audacity still leaving you gagged. He really wanted you to magically forget what happened like it was a phase in your life or some past fluke meant to be forgotten?!.

No Robert!, you yelled inwardly. That stunt he pulled costed you your peace and sanity!. You ducked from his hands as if it was some harmful object meant to be heavily avoided...well it was, but not literally...it was more like a metarphorical representation.

You elegantly moved the chair that stood at the opposite side of the table and elegantly sat down, clasping your purse to your phone to your abdomen. You didn't move the chair closer to the table_ you thought that was awfully a lot of effort for someone like him and knowing the barbarian he might get the wrong idea, and so you sat... staring indifferently, a few feet from the table, your legs crossed, your face at rest. You were getting uncomfortable...it was coming fast.

He hastingly followed your lead and sat in the chair across the other side of the table, him sitting as close as he can to it_ chest rubbing against the table's edge and what not. He didn't think too much of the hostility you had shown him earlier... maybe he was but you can't read minds so you never knew.

"Uh..." He said, clearing his throat with rapid grunts that irritated you immediately. You squeezed your face_ it becoming tighter as his annoying grunts went on, you shifted momentarily on your chair, uneasiness laced in your movements, but he was too dumb to read it anyways so the grunts continued for a while.

From behind you, you could feel Robert's prying eyes, piercing into your space...a feeling of insecurity washed over you, you felt queasy, your uncomfortability heightening. You glanced around, searching for nothing in particular and that's when you saw it...the rest room! You hastingly stood up and bolted off towards it. Leaving Daniel to stare awkwardly.

You went into one of the bathroom stalls, breathing hard as if you had just finished running a marathon. You wished they both stopped what they were doing!. You couldn't get shit done and that's because of two overly grown men who didn't know how to behave civil.

You knew that you shouldn't let Rob's stares get to you that much! But it did! You were literally still recovering from your past trauma and through the years...you never got used to the prying eyes of people...from the students at school, from your colleagues at the bank where you worked and even from your personal workers that did services around the house. It wasn't something you wanted to get used to, it wasn't something you had to get used to.

You slapped your cheeks and shaked your hear rigorously.

"Toughen up Amanda" you said to your self as you did stretche inside the stall as if you were getting ready for a big fight or challenge. You had to take control of the situation!. No way these men were about to ruin her day any further.

No! She had to take the wheel, Robert's policing demand and Daniel's weird obsession with you. You charged out of the stall and straight to the sink, turning on the tap and washing your hands, even though there wasn't any need to. You looked at your self at the mirror, made goofy faces at your self, smiled and exited the bathroom with a huge sigh.

What you saw was very chaotic... it was Daniel!! And Robert sitting together.... discussing in your absence.

Thier mouths moving, mouthing inaudible words and for what seemed like the longest time, you stared...gagged. And just when you decided to move to know what it was all about another scandalous event happened....it was Robert...he gave Daniel a very hard punch!

"What the actual fuck?" You toned but before you could reach there, it had already broken off into a Full fledged fight.

"Omg!" It was literally an embarrassing scene, you stared bewildered...customers, security, workers ... they came to break the fight.

Hot tears streamed down your face...you couldn't take this anymore and so you left the cafe...towards the road and stopped a cab, you didn't want to go home or any other place for that matter. You felt suffocated...you wanted somewhere free and ravenous.

"The club" you said and the cab drove off.
