And so you did... spilling every ounce of information of your past to the new Daniel in your life...an ironic scene, you were scared...but you had to take this leap! Nothing good comes from being too careful..you had to take risks...and this was you taking that risk... being open and showcasing your weaknesses not caring on the possible backlash that might come with it.
"And that's everything that happened" You said, concluding your tale, before you knew what was happening you were in his arms...his cuddle...his embrace, a soothing warmth to the icy walls you had mentally mounted.
"I am sorry" he said, hugging you tighter. You heaved...arms dropped, succumbing to his grasp.
"It's okay" you said, a bit of struggle laced in it...he saw this and eased up on his clutch and subsequently, withdrew from the pose.
"I will do what i can to make you forget those dark days" he said, looking at you with yearning and determination in his gaze.
"I don't think that's possible" you replied truthfully..
"Not if you give me a try"
"How" you said pessimistic.
"what proof do you need to believe me?"
"Give me time... please?"
"I will wait for you for as long as you want"
"Thank you"
And with this you both held each other in an embrace...this time you returned the favour....tears streaming down your face, softly...The tears of relief, a realisation that finally there was someone by your side...a friend, a potential partner.
"Can we go home now?" You suggested and he nodded in approval. You both let go of each other and walked to the car, the cold night breeze Caressing your skin..you held your self, shielding your open arms from the chill air...Your date saw this and as courtesy demanded he took off his suit coat and threw it around your shoulders...a somewhat shield from the threatening cold.
You reached the car and he tapped the fob, a double beep and a clink!. As you opened the passanger seat to enter... you heard a voice...that same voice from before...the voice identical to Daniel's...You wanted to look to see if it was actually him..but fear couldn't allow it!...You were scared of what you would find even though at the back of your mind you were sixty percent sure that it was the waiter from earlier.
And so you went into the car, ignoring the voice entirely, He came into the car and started it .. pushing the gear and stepping on the clutch, as the car slowly moved you looked at the rear mirror and that was when you saw him...your tomentor....the cause of your predicament...Daniel!...that tall langy figure...in a chef apron conversing with another man of his stature wearing the same outfit.
You froze, the car reversed and went towards him...oh no! He caught sight of you! He waved...he knew of your existence...the next few days are about to be hell.
