Gwen POV (Spider-Woman, Earth-65-B):

Cold white light filled the room. No shadows, no exits.

Quantum fields shimmered like glass walls, humming with quiet menace. The Spider-Gang sat in their cubes, stripped of tech and pride.

Across the floor, he walked.

Peter Parker. while not Spider-Man he was more than enough for us. It was the armoured Peter.

This time he was wearing a regular Polo shirt, faint energy rippling from the spine-mounted Sandevistan that hissed with restrained power. His eyes were angry, very angry.

Gwendolyn stood beside him. Same face as mine but calmer, a little older, haloed by quiet authority. Her hand rested gently on his wrist like an anchor keeping a storm in place.

"Name." Peter said flatly, stopping before my cube.

"Gwen Stacy. Spider-Woman. Earth-65-B."

He tilted his head. "You asked earlier if I'm that Peter. The one who helped stop Kingpin's collider."

Her throat went dry. "Yeah… the armored one."

Without a word he turned, the plates along his back unlocking. A faint whirr sounded and the Sandevistan flickered alive in a halo of neon orange light. "That answer your question?"

The others stared. Pavitr mouthed, "Bro's built like a Gundam."

Peter B. muttered, "Man, that's cool no matter how many times I see."

Peter ignored them. "So, explain why you crashed my wedding and why dimensional instability just spiked around your signatures."

I swallowed hard. "We didn't mean to. The multiverse... something's wrong. Miles... Miles Morales from 1610, he's in danger. The canon is collapsing around him. We thought maybe you could help."

At the word canon, Peter's jaw clenched. A light behind him flared, resonating with his pulse.

Gwendolyn touched his hand. "Breathe."

He exhaled slowly, voice low but sharp. "You people and your obsession with canon events. I've been breaking them since day one. The universe doesn't die because a hero saves someone he wasn't 'supposed' to."

I blinked. "But Miguel said...."

Peter cut me off, eyes blazing. "Miguel O'Hara doesn't understand physics, he understands fear. A universe collapses only when someone forces the web to twist, when you push a collider past safe thresholds or drain dimensional energy till reality caves in. That's it. Not because a dad lived. Not because a friend survived."

His voice echoed, vibrating the cubes; sparks danced across the walls. For a heartbeat I thought he might tear through the fabric of reality just to prove his point.

Then Gwendolyn squeezed his arm again. "Peter."

He blinked, focus snapping back to her. The energy dimmed.

She smiled faintly towards me. "He gets… passionate. Comes with the genius package."

I managed a weak smile. "Guess that part never changes."

Behind them, the other Spiders watched silently. Hobie lounging against his cube wall, Peni glaring but listening, Pavitr nodding like a student.

Peter looked around at all of them. "You think saving one kid could doom reality. I've seen worse. Gods trying to rewrite the cosmos, tyrants snapping existence like twine and the multiverse still stands. You want my help for Miles? Fine. But next time, you knock before falling through my roof."

Peter B. raised a frosting-stained hand. "So… you'll help?"

Peter's tone softened, barely. "I'll help the kid. Not the system that tried to cage him."

Gwendolyn stepped forward, gaze moving over the trapped heroes. "Then let's start by getting you cleaned up. You all smell like burnt sugar and quantum residue."

A laugh rippled through the cubes, breaking the tension. Even Peter's mouth twitched.

He waved a hand—containment fields shimmered and dropped. "Don't make me regret that."

Hobie grinned. "Too late, mate."

Peni groaned. "Here we go again…"

---

As the group followed Gwendolyn out toward the forge chamber, I lagged a step behind, watching Peter from the corner of my eye. He wasn't the armoured Peter I met one year ago but he was proof that even across universes, some souls never stopped fighting to fix what broke.

And maybe, just maybe, that meant Miles still had a chance.
