"Damn it… I—I'm not done yet!"
The Green Goblin staggered to his feet, face bloodied and half-blind. Hatred burned in the one eye that still worked, fixed on Gwen and Ryuuto. His breath came in broken gasps, but pride refused to die. Screaming, he charged again like a beast too stupid to realize it was already dead.
Ryuuto sighed, brushing dust off his sleeve. "Persistent idiot. Gwen—finish it. No mercy."
"Got it!" Gwen nodded with a fierce grin. Her heel whipped up, catching the Goblin under the jaw with a crack. He slammed into a wall, bones snapping. Before he could twitch again, a chunk of rubble—big enough to crush a car—fell from above and drove straight through his chest.
The Goblin jerked violently, blood bubbling out black and thick. Then—silence.
Ryuuto muttered, "Guess karma never skips leg day."
He stepped forward, tossed a single shuriken. It embedded right between the Goblin's brows.
Dead for real this time.
[Ding! Mission Complete. Reward: +40,000 System XP. One Lucky Draw Unlocked.]
"Oh hell yes." Ryuuto clapped his hands together, grin splitting his face. "Let's see what I got this time."
He tapped the interface.
[Congratulations, Host. Reward acquired: Mysterious Scroll. Function: Unknown. One-time use only.]
"…You've got to be kidding me." He scowled. "Shion, you giving me junk again?"
[Ehh~ who knows? Maybe it's the key to godhood. Or maybe it's toilet paper. Spin the wheel, Host~]
Ryuuto groaned. "You're lucky you're cute when you're useless."
He tucked the scroll away, slipping an arm around Gwen as they walked under the silver glow of the city's broken moon. For one night at least, the world felt calm. Their battle was done.
Somewhere else, chaos brewed.
Inside a rundown prison on the outskirts of Axville, three figures slipped through the shadows. Quicksilver led the way, Gambit followed with his usual scowl, and Ariel flipped her hair like she was too good for the place.
"Yo, Quicksilver," Gambit muttered. "You sure this dump's got the guy we're looking for? Smells like someone died here."
Ariel wrinkled her nose. "No way a real powerhouse rots in a place like this. Magneto better not be trolling us again."
Quicksilver shot them both a glare sharp enough to shave steel. "Shut it. Keep your eyes open. The man we're here for isn't your average thug."
He pulled out a photo—grainy, but the face was unmistakable.
"Jugor," he said quietly.
Even Gambit and Ariel stopped complaining. They'd all heard the rumors—the Kingpin of the underworld, said to crush skulls like eggs and bargain with devils for fun.
"Alright," Quicksilver whispered. "Let's go meet the monster."
They approached the largest cell in the block. Inside sat a massive man, muscles like armor plates, head bowed. When he finally looked up, the temperature in the room seemed to drop. His eyes burned with the calm cruelty of someone who'd already buried too many people to care.
"Jugor," Quicksilver said carefully. "We're not here to fight."
The man's lips curled into a smirk. "Then you're here to pay."
Quicksilver nodded to Gambit, who dropped two heavy cases of cash with a thud.
"I'm here to make a deal," Quicksilver said. "We need your help. And Magneto pays well."
Jugor chuckled—a sound that belonged in nightmares. He snatched the cases with a flicker of motion so fast it blurred.
"I'm no mutant," he said. "But I've killed enough of them to earn the title. You'll get your job done. My best killer will handle it."
"Bullseye," he called.
A whisper of motion. A shadow slid down from the ceiling, landing in silence. Cold eyes gleamed beneath the dim light.
"Targets?" Bullseye asked.
Quicksilver's lips twitched into a grin. "We've got work."
