Chapter 10 - CHAPTER TEN

The interviewer nodded thoughtfully, her eyes locked on mine. "Woah! What a story. That was fascinating. As someone who has experienced both the benefits and challenges of having overprotective parents, what advice would you give to young people who are facing similar situations?"

I leaned forward, my voice taking on a reflective tone. "You know, it's okay to have parents who are overprotective. I mean, it might feel suffocating at times, but it's usually because they want the best for us. And yes, the world can be a very, very wicked place. But our parents' decisions aren't always right, and we have to learn to be strong and make our own decisions."

The interviewer's eyes sparkled with interest, and she nodded for me to continue.

"Every youth has the desire to quest for freedom, and that's natural," I said. "But while we're questing for freedom, let's also try to learn from our parents. Let's not be too carried away by the freedom we see our friends having. Most times, those friends wish they had parents like ours, who care enough to be protective."

The interviewer's expression turned thoughtful, and she scribbled down some notes. "That's a great perspective," she said.

"Most especially to the youth and teenagers, what do you think is the key to navigating the challenges of growing up?"

"Most especially to the youth and teenagers, I would say that navigating the challenges of growing up requires a delicate balance between asserting your independence and learning from the wisdom of others," I said, my voice filled with conviction. "It's about finding your own voice, your own path, and your own strengths, while also being open to guidance and support from those who care about you."

The interviewer nodded thoughtfully, her eyes sparkling with interest. "That's a great point. It sounds like you've learned a lot from your own experiences. What do you hope readers will take away from your story?"

I smiled, feeling a sense of purpose. "I hope that my story will inspire readers to be brave, to take risks, and to pursue their passions, even if the road ahead is uncertain. I also hope that it will remind parents and guardians of the importance of finding that balance between protection and independence, and of trusting their children to make their own decisions."

The interviewer smiled, scribbling down some final notes. "Well, Adesuwa, it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you. I'm sure our readers will love your story."

I smiled back, feeling grateful for the opportunity to share my story. "Thank you for having me," I said. "I'm looking forward to seeing the article in the Vanguard newspaper."

With that, the interview came to a close, and I felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that my story would soon be shared with the world.

Looking around, it's far from the end.

It's only just the beginning!
