Chapter 24 - The gears of fate are turning

Three days later, Ailer groggily opened his eyes.

He wasn't lying on something soft, but rather a cold, wet surface.

As he moved his limbs, ripples spread out, and only then did Ailer realize he was submerged in a bathtub full of Water.

Ailer reached out, gripped the edge of the tub, and stood up, shedding numerous water droplets as he stepped out with somewhat stiff legs.

A bath towel and clothes were laid out nearby.

Ailer turned his head and saw that his fox mask, used to conceal his identity, was still on his face in the mirror.

"It seems they respect my privacy," Ailer smiled knowingly, understanding that Blade and his group hadn't removed his mask even while he was unconscious.

After drying himself, Ailer changed into the DGP participant's uniform.

He didn't know how long he had been lying there, but the stiffness in his body told him he had probably been unconscious for quite some time.

Eager for answers, Ailer pushed open the bathroom door and stepped outside.

Specks of sunlight filtered through the window, scattering onto the red carpet of the hallway.

Ailer turned to look out the window and found himself in the center of a large farmland.

"It seems this is a farm," Ailer thought to himself, hearing the sound of a television.

Following the sound, Ailer walked over.

"Last night, Stark Industries reported strange noises and explosions.

On-site witnesses claimed to have seen a metal giant over two meters tall.

Our reporter will soon conduct a close-up interview with Mr. Tony Stark, spokesperson for Stark Industries.

Viewers, please stay tuned for updates."

The timeline had begun.

Ailer immediately thought of a few things upon hearing this news.

"Oh? You're awake?

This is a safe house I prepared.

The old garage wasn't safe anymore, so we came here."

At this moment, Whistler, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV, noticed Ailer's arrival.

He smiled at the warrior who was willing to sacrifice his life to defeat his enemies and asked, "You've been unconscious for three days.

Are you hungry?

I'll make you some sandwiches."

"Thank you, but I don't like mayonnaise.

If there's ketchup, use that; otherwise, don't put anything," Ailer replied.

Whistler, who greatly admired the young man Ailer, smiled and then got up to go to the kitchen to prepare ingredients.

After Whistler left, Jen Ketlin cast a meaningful glance at Ailer.

She let out a long breath and then said, "Honestly, you are very special.

You managed to survive with a body temperature over forty degrees Celsius and a heart rate exceeding two hundred twenty beats per minute, and the only cost was a few bottles of nutrient solution."

"That means I'm naturally strong," Ailer smiled faintly, then clenched his fists, feeling the strength in his body at that moment.

Perhaps it was due to breaking through a physical limit, but Ailer felt his strength had increased significantly.

He thought no Olympic weightlifting champion could match his strength, and his speed could leave Bolt far behind.

"As a Doctor, I don't recommend you enter that state again," Jen Ketlin earnestly reminded him.

"Perhaps it can bring you great power, but without timely rescue, you will definitely die from excessive exhaustion!"

"I understand," Ailer replied.

After reminding Ailer, Jen Ketlin remembered something else.

She first said to Ailer, "Wait for me here; I'll get you something."

With that, Jen Ketlin turned and left at top speed.

When she reappeared, she held three packages that looked like blue jelly.

"This is a nutrient supplement I prepared for you.

If you encounter an enemy you absolutely must fight with all your might, take one after the battle.

If you're afraid of being too weak after a fight, take it before the battle," Jen Ketlin explained to Ailer.

"The ingredients are also very clean, mainly glucose with some supplements.

It can be stored for half a year in the right environment.

If you need more, just call me, and I'll prepare it for you."

"Ms. Jen Ketlin, you're too kind.

I don't know how to thank you," Ailer replied gratefully.

"No, I should be thanking you," Jen Ketlin shook her head, then continued, "You brought me different material, allowing me to see hope for healing myself."

"Young man, your sandwich is here.

I also squeezed you a glass of orange juice."

At this moment, Whistler walked over, carrying a large sandwich and a glass of room-temperature orange juice.

At the same time, a familiar Shadow entered Ailer's sight.

He looked at Ailer, who seemed to be in good condition, and said, "It seems you've recovered well.

What are your plans next?"

For some reason, Blade always felt that Ailer had changed in some ways.

"Killing Vampires in New York City.

It would be best if I could wipe out these creatures entirely," Ailer stretched his limbs, then said to Blade, "If I encounter any strange guys along the way, I'll take care of them too."

"It seems you won't focus all your attention on just hunting Vampires," a 'just as I thought' expression flickered in Blade's eyes, hidden behind his sunglasses.

There's a saying, 'With a sharp blade in hand, the desire to kill arises naturally.'

Ailer's state was somewhat close to this description.

As he gained mastery over his power, the number of enemies Ailer dared to confront gradually increased.

Whether for the hot blood in his heart or for his moral bottom line, Ailer naturally harbored hostility towards those who used supernatural powers to oppress ordinary people.

"Good luck," Blade encouraged.

Meanwhile, the television screen showed the famous Tony Stark.

The billionaire looked somewhat tired.

He held a prepared speech in his hand, his gaze fixed on the camera at the press conference.

This was originally a press conference meant to clarify certain matters and distance them from Tony Stark.

However, after experiencing certain events, Mr. Tony Stark wanted to do something he truly desired.

He crumpled the speech in his hand and, facing the onslaught of reporters, frankly stated a fact.

"I am Iron Man."

What did that mean?

Although many reporters didn't immediately react, they all guessed that Tony Stark's words might contain a big news story, perhaps even related to Tony Stark's forced closure of the weapons department.

Reporters who guessed this immediately became even more enthusiastic.

"It seems someone is about to steal the spotlight," Ailer's mouth curved into a mysterious arc.

It was good to have someone attract the attention of certain forces.

Perhaps with Tony's actions, the focus of some individuals would temporarily shift away from him.

He would have to find an opportunity to thank Mr. Tony Stark later.

"Iron Man?

A strange title," Whistler handed Ailer the orange juice and sandwich.

"Speaking of which, you don't have a codename yet, do you?

I don't know what to call you."

"Oh, you can just call me Kamen Rider Geats when I'm in my armor."
