Chapter 80 - Heaven Emissy.

I was currently waiting inside the Heaven Embassy for my scheduled appointment. We were to discuss making my kingdom an officially recognized state.

The Sins, Mom, and Dad had already officially recognized it and had drafted a letter of recognition for my kingdom, though they were quite worried I wouldn't be able to take care of Hell's current affairs.

I assured them that no such thing could happen, since the Pale Kingdom basically runs itself, and I had multiple insects making sure to keep the peace and even help provide for everyone's needs.

This was enough to calm their minds, and a few days later the document was nearly completed. Every Sin had their signatures written, and only one blank space remained.

That space was reserved for the High Seraphim or her representative for this meeting.

So, waiting patiently, I sat on the many benches the embassy provided, though it was quite strange that there weren't any other demons or angels inside the place, which gave a rather eerie vibe to the building.

This didn't really bother me, though, since I was used to being alone. But as I sat and looked around the place, a portal appeared. It resembled something close to water and had bubbles flying out of it.

And then suddenly an angel flew out in excitement directly toward me. As the angel flew, she crashed directly into my chest. This caused her to land on my lap while holding her head in pain.

"Ow, ow, ow, that really hurts," the angel spoke while holding her forehead.

As I continued to sit and look at the angel on my lap, she kind of reminded me of Sera, though much younger.

"Hello," I spoke, all the while looking down at her.

This caused her to look up, and with a bright smile she hugged my face.

"Holy moly! I can't believe I finally got to meet you!" she spoke, still hugging my face.

"Nice to meet you as well… would you please release me?" I said from between her chest.

"Oh! Sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you! Are you hurt? Do you need a band-aid!?" she said, panicking a bit and summoning bandages.

I simply raised my hand to stop her.

"I'm fine. So, am I to assume you're here for the meeting?" I asked her.

"Oh! Yes, I am! My name's Emily! I've been sent by my sister Sera to oversee this meeting!" she said with a beaming smile.

"Alright." Getting up from my bench, I began to walk toward the meeting hall of the embassy. Looking behind me, I saw Emily staring at me a bit dumbfounded.

"You coming?" I asked the seraphim.

"Oh! Uh, yeah!" she said, flying right behind me.

As I continued to walk the halls of the embassy, Emily flew rather close to me and began to examine me—not for any malicious reason, but rather out of childlike curiosity.

This was rather amusing, since most angels would often shield their eyes whenever I visited Heaven for important meetings.

"Is there something on my face, Emily?" I asked, knocking her out of her staring daze.

"Oh! It's nothing! It's just… you look really… cool! Yeah, that's all!" she said with the most strained smile.

I gave a small chuckle before we made our way toward the meeting room. Once we finally reached it, I opened the doors, revealing a large room with multiple depictions of angels and… Exorcists killing demons.

This was bad. Most angels of Heaven didn't know the exterminations were a thing, and Sera wanted to keep it that way.

Of course I asked why she didn't want all of Heaven knowing about the exterminations, and she explained that if the winners were to find out, it could cause unrest among the angels and lead to larger problems down the line—maybe even banishment from Heaven.

Sera then pleaded with me not to divulge this information to anyone, lest it cause more problems for everyone.

I respected her wishes and vowed not to tell anyone, for a small price: the exterminations would be delayed further. So instead of happening once every year, now they would only happen once every year and a half.

Sera, after giving it some thought, quickly agreed. Though Adam and Lute weren't too happy when they found out the exterminations were pushed back even more, they simply had no say in the matter.

"Hey, Emily, maybe we should move somewhere else… anywhere but here," I said, trying to block her view from the walls.

"Why? This place looks perfectly fine! It even has those pretty murals showing the Speaker and the exterminations!" she said with a chipper smile.

Oh. Well, that makes things easier. She knows about the exterminations. I guess we can move on, then.

We both moved toward the chairs and sat across from each other before I pulled out a briefcase holding the documents needed to be signed.

"So here are the documents you'll be filling out. If you look here, you can see the—" Before I could even show her the necessary paperwork, she summoned a pen and, with speed and precision, quickly signed her name on all the documents.

"Uhhhh… why did you do that?" I asked, confused. She didn't even read the main focus of the documents.

"Well… whenever I would ask Sera about you, she would always tell these amazing stories about how you've been managing and making Hell safer for everyone! And I just knew if someone was doing that, then they're probably trustworthy!" she said with a smile.

"Okayyy… well, thank you for that, but next time please read the fine print. Someone could place you in a rather binding deal if you don't read what you're signing," I told her, warning her of the dangers of ignoring the fine print.

"Will do!" she said, staring at me.

And as she continued to stare, I felt the awkwardness starting to build. Picking up my paperwork, I tried my best to make a final remark.

"Well… it was nice meeting you, but I should probably get going." Picking up my bag, I walked toward the exit, but before I could leave, the doors suddenly closed shut.

Looking back, I saw Emily holding out her hand with a manic grin, her eyes glowing a brownish color.

"Emily? What are you doing?" I asked, placing down my briefcase.

"Oh, nothing! I just wanted to talk with you more!" she said, smiling.

Okay. I think I know what's happening.

Radiance!

What? I was busy fucking this cute Goetia girl and I really don't want to talk right now.

Why is another angel going crazy with your powers again!?

Hey! It's not my fault! I didn't do that to her! And besides, I don't have to deal with that. You know why?

Why?

Because I'm finally calling in my favor! So deal with that yourself. Bye bye.

The Radiance then stopped speaking within my mind and left me alone with a brainwashed Emily.

Okay, how do I fix this? I've been practicing using her powers for quite a while now… maybe I can fix her myself. Okay, let's do this.

Psyching myself up, I looked toward the angel, but when I looked up, she wasn't there. Almost immediately, I felt something attached to my chest.

Looking down, I saw Emily hugging me and sniffing me.

Great. Just great.
