Chapter 13 - The Commotion, The Charm of Eira

Matt, Eira, Darwin, Brent, and Brainiac followed the map on the interface; they reached there, seeing numerous students coming in.

It was like an average building, concealing what was happening inside of it. They entered the cafeteria, all eyes on them, or on Matt and Eira, whose charms were surprising them.

"Who are these two?" Some boys couldn't close their mouths, seeing Eira.

Matt was surprised why the crowd was like this, behaving like country bumpkins.

Was he that handsome? He remembered in Black Water City, he walked through the crowd, but they didn't even lay their eyes on him, not charmed by his handsomeness.

But what he didn't know was that his parents cloaked his charm and handsomeness, so in front of people, he only had an average face.

The cloak was breaking when he went for the awakening ceremony, which exposed part of it; now it was completely broken.

Among the crowd, a young boy watched all of this scene with jealousy, his face writhing with anger..

"Humph, a D-class trying to pursue an SS-class Awakener. Just a toad lusting after a swan." Even though his voice wasn't that loud, everybody heard it; their gaze towards Matt changed, especially the guys.

They were jealous of Matt's handsomeness; now hearing he was just a D-rank Awakener, they felt delighted, looking at him with disgust.

Their eyes were on Eira; hearing this, they now had a chance to woo this beauty.

Matt noticed all of this; he looked at the person who said this, the young man from the Harrison family, that awakened A-rank talent He could feel the malicious intent, which made him shake his head; he just takes Eira as his sister.

Or is it? He thought, his gaze turned to Eira, who looked at him in worry.

He took that off his mind, even though if he had feelings, would she, as an SS rank, like him? Also, he could see that Uncle Ben and Aunt Sylvia have a great background.

Before they could move, countless guys had come before Eira, trying to woo her. They had even used their body to push Matt out of the way.

He smiled bitterly, even though he didn't notice it. "Let's go and eat; she would join us."He beckoned his roommates as they walked towards one of the seats, sitting down.

Eira watched this; her eyes were on Matt when she saw he left. She thought he was angry.

With anger, she roared at the boys, who had unwilling expressions; she ran towards where Matt was already eating.

Matt was already devouring his food. He heard someone sitting beside him, turned, and saw Eira.

"You're back already," he said, surprised. Eira nodded as she ordered her food.

All boys who watched this felt jealousy; some still tried to woo her, trying to sit beside her, but she rejected them all.

Until they went back to their hostel, she was still wooed. His roommates were silent about this, but when they entered their room.

"Wow, I never thought she was an SS Class Awakener. Such a girl is chasing after you and holding hands with you," Brainiac said, teasing Matt.

"Nah, we are just childhood friends; our parents knew each other, and we are neighbors. There's nothing between us." Matt scratched his head.

"Be playing there, can't you see…" Brainiac said, before he paused.

"See what?" Matt felt confused.

"Nothing." Brainiac smiled, taking the topic to another thing; the discussion continued. The next morning, Matt had taken his shower sitting on the bed, thinking of how he would set things in the academy.

"Matt, you have a visitor," Brent called out to him.

Matt raised his eyebrows, wondering who would see him this early morning; it's just 7AM.

As he opened the door, he saw a familiar figure. "Eira, good morning, what brings you here?"

Eira smiled when she saw him, as she wanted to talk. The bell rang throughout the academy; no voice resounded, but the map of the academy appeared, with a location marked once again.

"All freshers should head to this location on your map according to your rank for your first lecture."

The words appeared on the interface. Matt, surprised by it, looked at Eira before he excused himself

"Are you guys moving out now?" He asked.

Brainiac laughed, "Don't worry about this. Just go with your childhood friends," he giggled.

Matt's face turned red for a moment before he nodded.

He opened the door once again. "Let's go," he smiled.

Eira nodded, also smiled, stretching her hands forward, holding Matt's hands.

Matt saw this; he didn't say anything as they walked outside the hostel.

The crowd watched their movements, seeing them hold hands; jealousy filled the boy's heart.

"Humph, I wonder how he would go strong with his talent; the chasm between them would just widen, a frog in a well.""He would just be an ant while she's a phoenix soaring to the sky,"

The crowd kept on chattering, belittling Matt. This made his expression turn worse for a moment before he took that off his mind.

In his mind, he intended to slap their face by getting stronger.

Taking a deep breath, he exhaled them out.

They walked to where the lecture would take place according to the map. Matt found himself standing before an average building, wondering how such a building would contain all of them.

But when they entered, he now knew the meaning of never judging a book by its cover; just from the ceiling, he knew that it was massive.

He was confused about why it was small outside but big on the inside; he kept the curiosity, planning to find out himself.

One can never judge the means of an academy that fosters Requiem Masters "I guess this is where we would part ways," Matt smiled,

"We would meet after the lecture," Eira smiled, her melodious voice sounding like a fairy.

Matt's heart was caught for a moment, hearing the voice and the smile of Eira.

He walked away, a smile plastered on his face, but he didn't know this himself.
