Davina's POV
Louise Jenkin's sharp voice sliced through the stillness of the sub-conference room, and I watched as she towered at the head of the lengthy table, her icy stare scanning the staff members sitting in front of her.
I could hear no gentleness in her voice, no uncertainty—only unwavering command. Each syllable she uttered seemed to reverberate through the space.
"Let me be crystal clear," she went on, her voice dropping but gaining an edge. "Harassment violates company regulations. I don't give a damn what excuse you think you have. Dumping your assignments on colleagues just because they're fresh faces is something that will absolutely never—" she stopped, stretching the quiet for impact, "—happen again under my watch."
I noticed several staff members glance away anxiously. Others dropped their gazes. Some stared at their hands, shifting restlessly. A few tried to maintain blank expressions, but I could still sense their unease.
