I dropped the file down, directing my gaze at Jing Xu, "Make her the number one priority"
Atleast something fun was going to happen today.
"Then I will schedule her in one hour, for now take a look at these." Jing Xu with a silent nod and smile placed a stack of documents on my table, and the smile on my face left with a flash of light.
The heck is this?
I grumbled, my eyes twitching. I should have stayed home longer, at this point Imma need to spend nights in the office—
Wait, that's actually a good plan.
I began to go through the documents, focusing on the proposals and correcting some few things that won't be beneficial to AURORA.
I wanted the launch to be vibrant and grabbing. A lot of influential people are going to be there, so I wanted something that would suit their palatte and beliefs. Rich people including me, want something sophisticated, and spacious
The proposals and suggestions in these documents were not just it.
Just then my phone buzzed.
[Busy, darling?]
I only glanced at it from the side, and now I was rolling my eyes from some kind of exhaustion. Why is he doing this to me? What exactly is he thinking in his head?
[I know you are looking at this message right now, so don't ignore me baby.]
I shivered, looked around and then glanced at my phone. Is he stalking me? I grabbed another cup of water as I squinted my eyes and stared at the text message.
"Should I reply, or should I not?" I whispered to myself, as I took another gulp of water, then the next message sent my eyes wide.
[Stop staring at your screen, and no I am not stalking you.]
What the?! I jumped in my seat, quickly took my phone and began typing. "You know I have business to run, Yichen. I don't have time for this."
[I gave you that business, darling. I can simply give you a vacation if I want to.]
Literally true, but no. He gave it to me to own, with an angry pout, I typed again. "During the contract signing, you gave me all ownership of AURORA, don't tell me you are taking it back."
[Don't underestimate me, little Yi. AURORA is just too little, I was planning to give you the whole district.]
I blanked out.
What did he mean the whole district? There are times like this I can't just understand what he is thinking in his head. No, I can't make him do that. I sent an emoji, then typed again.
"I am going back to work."
[Later, darling. I am going to pick you up.]
Absolutely not, I whipped my head and angrily faced Jing Xu. He flinched and then faced me, his eyes looking all wary and I gave him a wry smile, that didn't reach my eyes.
"Are you okay, Mrs. Mo?" He stuttered, and I tilted my head and accessed my decision. After a second, I closed my eyes and nodded vigorously.
This was the best.
"We are going to leave early today, Jing Xu" I declared, and a smile curled on his features. "Together." I dropped.
His smile dropped at the same time, his eyes narrowed and he frowned. I chuckled.
"Don't worry, I will increase your pay. Don't you want to get home to your family, early today?" I asked, and he quickly nodded, his eyes glinting with stars, I could pratically see him floating with the money.
That should solve it.
After that I continued to review the documents, and soon it was finally time for the interview.
"I will guide you there, Mrs. Mo." Jing Xu gestured towards the door, I nodded as he directed me to the boardroom where we would be doing the interview.
Director of finance and the others were there, they quickly stood up to greet, I only waved them off and settled into my seat. To be clear, I was kind of excited to see the look on Zhen Rui's face.
"Mrs. Mo, why did you decide to give Miss. Zhen Rui a chance?" The director of fiance asked, I shrugged lightly. I couldn't possibly tell them that it was because I wanted to keep my enemies closer, could I?
"I felt like she had some potential, since she enthusiastically submitted her resume." I replied quietly.
"Yeah..." I could see the mocking glint in his eyes, and I knew that he really wanted to scoff at me, but he just couldn't do it. Probably because of this morning when Yichen dropped me off.
Word do travel fast don't they?
"Mrs. Mo, Miss. Zhen Rui is here." Jing Xu announced and I nodded, gesturing for him to let her in. Zhen Rui haughtily matched in, her chin raised in pride. I scoffed, but retained a calm facade as I stared at her settle into the chair in front of me.
It was a round table with Zhen Rui in the middle.
She had no ounce of nervousness on her, flipping her hair and even doing her makeup as if she didn't have any regard for anyone in the room.
I shook my head, a satisfied smile on my face. Yes sister, keep behaving like this and make my plan more easier for me.
She finally noticed me, her eyes wide in surprise, then a mocking smile curled at the corner of her lips. "So it was indeed you. The Owner of Aurora."
"Miss. Zhen Rui, may we start the interview now?" I asked, and she froze, her smile stilling before it morphed into a viscious sneer.
She laughed, "Are you going to be the one interviewing me? No... You are too dumb for the likes of me." She rolled her eyes, and I felt a vein in my forehead pulse with rage.
Breathe, Mo Yi, Breathe.
She is just trying to rile you up. I told myself as I flexed my jaw and pressed my lips into a thin line. My anger was flaring but I had to calm down.
I cleared my throat, and smiled, a smile not reaching my eyes. "Except you don't want to lose your chance, you will tell me why we, AURORA, should hire you."
