Chapter 39 - The Finishing Touches(3)

"And what happens there boy?"

Amaris mused while sipping her lemonade once again.

"Hehe.... it's not about what happens, but rather why it happens?", Mason said while smirking and added,"So why does this happen? Well you my beautiful friend it's because its simply an evaluation test."

Mason's statement gave no chain reaction to Amaris what so ever so he decided to spice things up.

"You see by evaluation test I simply mean they a cardinae simply checks one's memories so as to see if they're ready or not to be awakened, but.... who cares?-"

Mason paused as he looked at the angry Amaris who seemed to look calm, but to someone like Mason the shear rage rage hides beneath her unique eyes was no surprise.

"You see how i got to now that orb has two cardinaes relies on two factors," Mason paused briefly before continuing,"One, the colours emmited by cardinaes represent their cardinal point alignments which means that those two cardinaes myst either belong to a mystic or the water cardinal thingy."

Mason said his sounded stretched out from the expansion of air from his lungs whilst finishing his statement.

Amaris, whose temper had seemed to have faded sipped the the newly summoned lemonade and asked.

"And two?"

"I went through what I'd like to call as of per now a double stage event."

Mason said which caught Amaris's attention even more as she put the lemonade down and stared at him intently, but not with rage nor confusion.

But with an interest so high that she looked like 6 year old who was learning something new.

This caused Mason to also pause and stare for a brief moment.

No thoughts crossed his mind for his plan was already in go and successfully going the way he needed it to.

'Before I leave this place... I must know how much of an upgrade I'll be getting.'

Mason thought quickly as he then opened his mouth and said,"A double stage event. What is this? Is a phenomenon that's been listed in the history books? Or is it a random thing I came up with?"

Mason mused.

"Well this is could be both because one, I just made up a name for this so as to give and ideal look of things and two it might... I'm saying it might just be a lost peace history. But that's not what matters right now, no, what matters right now is what I'm tryna define."

Mason paused as he caught his breath once more and continued.

"This phenomenon is something that I've theorised over the course of my enlightenment. You see before I proceeded to complete my first stage of enlightenment I decided that I would get all the required Intel in order to make as smooth as possible.

So I decided that since I couldn't find anything useful during my search of Kian's memories, I decided to ask around, but it ultimately led to... nothing coz everyone saw as a freak apart from a few who co-operated, but had no useful info."

Mason said as he then caught his breath once again.

He then continued,"This then became a problem for me though not one that was too much to handle. Things were honestly moving well on the second day, but that didn't mean that I didn't try to make some research in the library. When I looked through the different sections in the floor of the library my floor had access to they were all beginner books that the old Kian had knowledge of already. So, I tried to go to the next floor, but was nearly killed by a 15 year old who looked like he'd been on drugs since birth no offense, mmm mmm."

Mason said while jokingly scoffing off the statement he had made.

"Hmhmhm."

This actually made Amarus giggle a little bit which brought joy to Mason as he smiled dainty in response.

"So, what was I going to do about it then? Well nothing in fact, I had no absolute advantage what so ever until... the lessons came again. You see before lunch we have a 1 hour lesson with this old guy called Mr... Mr...Kevin, no, Terlin yah Mr.Terlin. And that guy is boringggg as hell! But not to the average 6 to 10 year old, but alas I was 16 year old teen stuck in a 7 year old's body.

And so I slept..."

Mason went on to explain about how lucky the old Kian was just by his memories. Kian had been to places only someone with a high status could go, seen things only they could see and even surviving the worst case scenarios outside class with a bit of Elianor's help.

Which the led him to tell her about the specific memory of the old Kian when he had luckily stumbled onto the third and highest floor in the library.

And when was there he accidentally bumped into a familiar set of looking books that had unique cover names that the old Kian didn't bother to read, rather he was in a rush to get another book for a friend of his.

And yes, that friend belonged to the kings level in the basement classes.

"Mmmm, it seems that this boy had some extraordinary luck on his side before dying, huh?"

Amaris mused as Mason responded with a know of his head before continuing to add on.

"That was how I was able to make it."

"Make what?"

Amaris mused as she rested her head on her left hand which tilted it slightly whilst rubbing her on the tip of the glass of lemonade in a rotational pattern.

"The grand plan that will get me out here and on with business."

Mason said his voice lifting itself up from from a soft mannered hum to a deep confident tone.

He then continued,"You see during my enlightenment I was being evaluated, yes, but... I wasn't alone. I could feel it, the air, the energy and even parts of myself I'd never thought I'd feel and I thought to myself, 'Poor old me, he must've really wanted to fulfill his dreams.' But then, all of a sudden I felt something... something warm, small, comforting and it latched itself onto me. Not tightly, no, but like as if it were trying to hug me."

Mason said as his tone softened once more.

Amaris's straightened her sitting posture once again as her her eyes slightly widened as if she was intrigued by our MC's story.

"When I realised what no, who it was, I didn't respond not all not even by the slightest, but one thing was for surety colour of his soul or whatever it was was different from his."

And Mason went on and on to tell Amaris that original soul was still inside, but just weak and that his cardinae was finishing his assessment.

"Now... since I've kept to my end of the deal mind keeping yours?"

Mason mused valiantly as he stood from where he sat and stretched.

"Tsk, you must think I'm some idiot... don't you?"

RUMBLLLE! TINK! SHATTER!

Amaris exclaimed in fury as the room began to rumble as what felt a terrible shift in the weight of the air followed by the sudden shattering of the glass.

RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

The rumbling continued as the Amaris's rage to spike even higher at a steady pace.

Although all this was happening at once, Mason seemed unfazed by the current situation he was in fact smirking not proudly, but calmly.

He then pocketed his hands shot a side back at Amaris, but not entirely and said,"My time's up you know."

He paused before continuing," But that doesn't mean we won't meet again, right?"

This caused Amaris's anger to forcefully shift into a deep confusion hence immediately ceasing the rumbling in the room.

Mason who understood this response wasted no time as he felt everything fade away and his vision became a blur.

"Oh, and when we do meet... I will attend to everyone who wishes to behold my presence."
