Chapter 16 Super Soldier Serum
Aidan was led by Howard to his private lounge.
As soon as they entered, Howard looked at Aidan with a grim expression.
"Tell me, what did you see? What was his fate?"
As he spoke, his tone was surprisingly urgent.
"He became a superhero, married his female assistant, a wife named Potts, and had a lovely daughter who shared a name with his uncle," Aidan said.
Hearing this, a relieved smile immediately appeared on Howard's serious face.
"Morgan, huh? That's just like that rascal's style. I really want to see that little one."
"You can, Mr. Howard. I can share the future scenes I saw with you right now," Aidan said.
Upon hearing this, a flicker of interest clearly crossed Howard's eyes.
Seeing this, Aidan dropped another bombshell.
"His ending wasn't good. Although he became a superhero, he ultimately sacrificed himself to save half the life in the Universe."
As Aidan spoke these words, Howard's pupils suddenly contracted, and his breathing unconsciously grew heavier.
After a long while, Howard finally returned to normal.
He looked at Aidan and said seriously, "I don't doubt that you are deceiving me, because I know that the abilities of you Mutants are bizarre and varied, and it's entirely possible to have the ability to foresee the future."
He paused here, his tone becoming extremely serious.
"But you should know that changing the past will create a butterfly effect. No one knows what will happen in the future; perhaps it will get better, but there's a greater chance that a worse future will occur."
Upon hearing this, Aidan's heart immediately filled with joy.
[There's a chance.]
He also said seriously, "I know, but perhaps the future will develop for the better? And I strongly agree with something I once heard."
"What is it?" Howard asked.
"All bad endings are not unchangeable, but rather because the power at hand is insufficient," Aidan said, word by word.
Howard looked directly at Aidan, as if trying to see through his thoughts.
After a long while, he slowly nodded, "I agree with that. I can grant your previous request, but you need to promise me one thing."
Aidan immediately nodded without hesitation, "Tell me, as long as I can do it."
"I want you to change the future, save him, and ensure his family is healthy and well," Howard said, word by word.
"Okay!" Aidan agreed without a second thought.
As for whether changing the future would attract the Time Variance Authority?
Aidan wasn't worried.
Because his very existence was an anomaly.
If the Time Variance Authority were to act against him, they would have probably come knocking long ago, so why wait until later?
And if a Transmigrator doesn't change the established storyline, and doesn't change what's hard to accept, then it's better not to transmigrate and just go back to the real World to be a low-level worker.
Seeing Aidan agree immediately, Howard also nodded.
"In that case, let me see his future. Of course, my future is not necessary; I don't need to see it."
Clearly, Howard had already guessed that he would no longer be in the future.
After all, if he were still alive, the things Aidan said would be meaningless, because he would always see them if he were alive.
As he spoke, Howard took a small, button-sized patch from his ear canal.
Evidently, it was this tiny device that had previously blocked Aidan's mental probing of Howard.
Seeing this, Aidan nodded, then directly released his psychic power and sorted through the important nodes of Tony Stark's life in his memory.
Afterward, he established a mental link with Howard.
As soon as the mental link was established, a large surge of memories instantly flooded Aidan's mind.
Most of them were about various scientific research technologies, and even design blueprints for certain things.
Aidan realized then that he had overlooked a crucial effect of psychic abilities.
[Memory Copy].
If he copied all the scientific research technologies in Howard's mind, then as long as he digested these memories, he could become the second Howard Stark in this World.
Aidan thought so, and he did so.
While projecting future scenes of Tony to Howard, he was also copying Howard's memories.
Howard apparently understood this, so he said nothing, but closed his eyes, as if recalling something.
Howard's expression sometimes furrowed, sometimes showed relief, sometimes tenderness, and sometimes anger and sighs.
Aidan knew that the other person was reacting as a father and an elder upon seeing Tony's state at various stages of his life.
When he frowned, he must have been displeased seeing Tony neglecting his duties and carousing every day.
The relief must have been from seeing Tony's transformation into a responsible person.
The tenderness, no need to guess, was from seeing Tony's daughter, little Morgan, after all, what Grandpa doesn't love a cute little granddaughter.
The anger and sighing must have been from seeing his son's death.
After a long while, Howard slowly opened his eyes, his gaze filled with complex emotions.
"I didn't realize my influence on him was so great. I really wasn't a competent father."
"Mr. Howard, the future can be changed, and you can change it too," Aidan said.
His words had two meanings: first, he could change Howard's predetermined fate of death, and second, he could start now to change his attitude towards Tony.
Howard naturally understood Aidan's meaning.
He smiled and waved his hand, saying, "Let my future take its course, but it is indeed time to change my attitude towards Tony."
Saying this, he walked to a wall in the lounge and tapped various spots on the wall rhythmically with his fingers.
Soon, a crack appeared in the wall, revealing a mechanical device.
Then Aidan saw Howard perform several unlocking procedures on the mechanical device, including palm print, iris unlock, voice print input, and a digital password.
Finally, a small space opened behind the wall.
It was a cold storage unit, with wisps of cold air drifting out.
Inside the cold storage, a briefcase lay quietly.
Howard directly opened the briefcase and took out a tube of light blue serum.
Afterward, he went through several complex procedures again, closing the thick alloy steel plate wall, restoring it to its original seamless appearance.
"You saw my memories, so you should know what this is."
Aidan naturally knew what it was.
It was none other than the famous Super Soldier Serum.
And it was Howard's improved version.
From Howard's memories, Aidan learned that this Super Soldier Serum was undoubtedly much milder than the version Captain America had been injected with.
It wouldn't instantly strengthen a person's physical qualities to the maximum, but rather would increase slowly and gently, gradually growing as the injectee aged.
Because of the gentle enhancement method, this generation of serum also didn't require the electricity of an entire city to activate the "Vita-Ray" to activate the serum, unlike during Captain America's time.
It's worth mentioning that this version of the serum was a unique version Howard created for his own family.
He intended to give this as a wedding gift to his son.
However, he didn't expect that he would leave the World before he could even give this item away.
