Chapter 15: I Know Mr. Potts' Future
"Hello, Mr. Stark, it's an honor to meet you!" Aiden greeted politely.
Howard nodded back with a slight smile, his attitude neither overly warm nor cold.
Clearly, he wasn't overly familiar just because Aiden was Danny's classmate.
Instead, Tony Stark, standing behind Howard Stark, was scrutinizing Aiden.
As for Danny, being an acquaintance and somewhat at odds with Aiden, he simply ignored him.
While Tony was observing Aiden, Aiden was also observing the teenage Tony Stark, who appeared to be no more than thirteen or fourteen years old.
It was impossible to tell that this guy would become a Super Hero decades later, sacrificing himself to save the entire Universe.
To be honest, Aiden greatly admired Tony Stark.
At least, if it were him, he probably wouldn't have the courage to leave his wife and child to make that fatal snap.
Feeling Aiden's strange gaze, the young Tony Stark just felt a wave of confusion.
"Hey, Danny, I heard you want to ask my dad a question. Why don't you tell me? Maybe he won't even need to get involved," Tony finally couldn't help but step forward and say to Danny.
Clearly, his biggest interest right now was still winning the bet with Howard, thereby achieving the wonderful prospect of doubling his allowance.
Tony's provocative words instantly annoyed Danny.
He really wanted to retort with, "You?"
However, due to his father and Howard being present, Danny didn't show his displeasure, and simply ignored Tony.
Seeing this, Aiden stepped forward and spoke on Danny's behalf.
"Hello, Tony, I've heard Danny mention you. He said you're his best friend and a very clever genius."
Listening to Aiden's undisguised praise, Tony's chin lifted high, and the smile on his lips was uncontrollable.
If he didn't have a tail, it would probably be wagging to the Heavens.
"Did he really say that?" Tony wasn't stupid. After a few seconds of smugness, he cast a suspicious glance at Danny.
"Ah, yes, yes, yes," Danny replied, nodding rapidly as he did so.
But no matter how one looked at it, it was a perfunctory response.
This was something Aiden had taught him.
No matter what others asked, just say "yes, yes, yes" to everyone.
Unfortunately, the current Tony was still too young to realize Danny was being perfunctory. Hearing Danny's response, he immediately resumed a proud expression, even casting a smug look at Howard.
Howard barely resisted rolling his eyes, but he felt a little more favorably towards Aiden.
After all, any father would be happy to hear someone praise their son, even if that son was at an annoying age.
After placating Tony, Aiden looked at Howard and said sincerely, "Mr. Howard, I know my request might be a bit presumptuous, but we've encountered some difficulties recently. You are a very brilliant scientist who participated in the Manhattan Project, so I believe only you can solve our current problems."
Aiden immediately showered him with flattery, and it was quite effective. The smile on Howard's face grew wider, and his gaze towards Aiden held a hint of appreciation.
"It's good for young people to have a thirst for knowledge, I appreciate that about you. Tell me, what problems have you encountered?" Howard said with a smile.
Hearing this, Aiden naturally knew it was time for the main event and no longer concealed anything.
"It's like this, Danny and I are both Mutants."
When Aiden said he was a Mutant, there was no surprise in Howard's eyes.
Clearly, he knew Danny was a Mutant.
And as Danny's classmate, it was normal for Aiden to also be a Mutant.
Moreover, as one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D., he had probably already had his Agents investigate Aiden and the X-Academy behind him.
Tony Stark, on the other hand, looked curious.
"You're a Mutant? What's your ability?"
Aiden didn't explain verbally. He simply raised his hand, and a beaker on a nearby laboratory table floated into the air, slowly flying towards the group.
"Wow, cool!" Tony's eyes widened instantly, staring incredulously at the beaker floating in mid-air.
Under Aiden's control, the beaker finally landed steadily in Aiden's hand.
"Is it telekinesis? A very good ability," Howard watched the entire scene, nodding in praise.
"Let me guess, the problem you've encountered is that your ability is too weak, and you want to find a way to enhance it, right?"
It had to be said, he was indeed Howard. He instantly guessed Aiden's thoughts.
Hearing this, Aiden nodded somewhat sheepishly.
"Yes, Mr. Howard, you guessed correctly."
Howard looked at Aiden meaningfully for a few seconds, then, to Aiden's surprise, shook his head.
"Regarding that, I'm afraid I'm sorry, I can't agree."
Aiden frowned, not understanding why Howard would refuse.
After thinking for a moment, he directly used his psychic ability, intending to invade the other party's mind and ascertain his thoughts.
"It's no use, young man." As if seeing what Aiden was doing, Howard raised a hand and pointed to his temple.
Instantly, Aiden seemed to understand something.
Sure enough, as one of the founding elders of S.H.I.E.L.D., how could he not have investigated the X-Academy?
Especially Charles, who possessed the strongest brain in the World, capable of easily invading anyone's mind and discovering any secrets he wished to know.
And as an elder of an organization, how could he not equip himself with means to prevent psychic probing?
Perhaps, Howard's refusal to help him was also for this reason.
After all, telekinesis could not only control objects, but also had the potential to awaken psychic telekinesis.
Seeing this, Aiden retracted his psychic energy.
However, he had anticipated this possibility.
So he had a second plan, and this plan would ensure Howard would help him.
"Mr. Howard, actually, I have another ability."
"Oh? A dual-ability user? That's quite rare."
Seeing Howard's unastonished expression, Aiden directly dropped a bombshell.
"My other ability is to foresee the future, and also to see some of the past. I once saw that you met a Mr. Potts. I saw Mr. Potts's future, and his end was not good."
As soon as these words were spoken, Howard, who had been calm, instantly changed his expression.
He glanced at Tony Stark beside him, leaving Tony completely confused.
"Old man, why are you looking at me like that?"
Howard didn't answer Tony, but instead directly instructed Jarvis, "Jarvis, take Tony and Danny to rest for a bit. I have something to discuss with this young man."
Then he looked at Aiden.
"Come with me."
