On one side the Goblin Leader, a 6-foot-tall Goblin with a huge mace in his hand, fell to the ground, on the other more than a dozen notifications started resounding in my ears.
The other members of the party also stared at the empty space in front of their eyes, dazed at the notifications they were receiving. Even the quiet Raven seemed to be happy as a small smile formed on her face before she wiped that off her face immediately.
They levelled up quite a bit in this hunt. Well, levelling isn't exactly hard in Arcadia if you know where to invest time. I smiled as I knew that a lot of people right now were simply trying to increase their levels using the field monsters.
But from this moment onwards, I can bet on it that everyone would be crazily searching for Monster Den's throughout Arcadia.
[Blaze - Level 5]
[Raven - Level 5]
[Kite - Level 4]
In the leaderboard, Raven was in 8th place while Blaze was in 6th place. Though, the ranks may decrease soon since we won't be hunting anymore for the rest of the day.
Though once the Zombie hunt starts at night…. Hmmm, I guess I know the ones who will dominate the 2nd and 3rd rank now. I smiled before looking at Blaze observing the leaderboards with a dumbfounded expression. His eyes kept gawking at the screen in front of him before a gratified smile formed on his face, which then slowly turned into a grin.
I wanted to point out the rewards for clearing the dungeon, but given the situation, I decided to let him enjoy this moment for a bit longer. It's not something that one sees every day, after all.
A minute passed as I checked my own status, skills and quests before returning to Blaze and disturbing him from his daydream,
"All right. Let's check our reward."
Clearing the Den, or [Dungeon] had a perk of receiving additional rewards in the form of Loot. It was an attraction that forced many to even wage wars against each other if the value of that [Dungeon] was appropriate enough.
Walking a few steps behind the makeshift throne, we entered a small room, containing a single big chest at the centre. It seemed to be made out of a well-crafted wood, something that was in deep contrast to the weapons and armour that the goblins had.
While I don't expect much from this, I wonder if we can land a good skill. I pondered as I then opened up the chest.
[You have found Goblin's Severed Short Sword!]
[You have found Goblin Edge's Spear!]
[You have found Skill Slab: Frenzy!]
[You have found 5 Silver Coins!]
[You have found Tattered Goblin Cloth x 15]
"WHOA!" Blaze spoke out, his eyes bulging at the loot. Even though it wasn't much in my eyes, I guess something like this is enough to enchant them, huh?
[Goblin's Severed Short Sword
Attack: 12~15
Defence: 0
Durability: 40/40
Remarks: From one Goblin to Another, hehe.]
That attack was slightly better than the dagger that I had while the durability was slightly lower.
At least I can dual-wield now.
[Goblin Edge's Spear
Attack: 15~25
Defence: 0
Additional Status:
-Piercing Damage: +5%!
Durability: 90/90
Remarks: Sharp Pointy thingy. Good for poking around.]
The spear was much better on the other hand. Too bad, I wasn't too keen on using Spears for now, and Blaze might benefit more from this than I would, anyway.
Lastly, the skill…
[Frenzy(Basic)!]
[Effects: Increases the Agility and Strength of the user by 10% for 5 minutes!
Requirements: Consumes 10 Stamina!
Remarks: Are you crazy enough to do something irrational, or is the situation irrational enough to make you go crazy?]
A good skill.
"You can have it," before I can even decide who will take it, Blaze spoke out. His eyes were filled with gratitude as he continued,
"You have done more than enough for us. Just levelling up and getting on the leaderboard was already more than enough to make us happy. It was truly amazing. And, you know, even if you want to keep the spear, you can have that as well. We truly don't mind."
There wasn't even a speck of greed in his eyes. Even Link and Raven didn't mind anything, simply waiting for me to make a decision.
And then there were people in my last life who PKd me until they got the dagger I received from one random quest. The contrast made me sigh, then chuckle a bit.
I thanked them politely before taking the skill and the short sword for myself. As for the spear…
"I am not too greedy," I then gave the spear to him, surprising him as he dumbfoundedly accepted it.
As for the coins, as the usual rule for the small party goes, we divided them equally among us. If there were more than 10 people, the division would have been based on contributions instead.
Lastly, for the Tattered goblin's cloth, its main use was to be used as a cloth material to sew some makeshift armour. I explained it to them before deciding that it would be better for one person to have it all than to divide it equally. That way at least one person can have a proper cloth armour later on than everyone filling the inventory without any proper use.
"Raven. Here, you take it," Link spoke without too much worry. He was probably going to earn much much more from the stream and the video he was going to edit and post on UTube later on, so something like this barely bothered him.
By the time we were done with the Goblin's den, and our levels were somewhat presentable, I looked at the time once again.
[5: 12 PM]
It was the in-game time, and accordingly, the night was not too far from us.
"Now what?" Blaze asked as usual while the other members observed me with a keen expression. I pondered about the best way to make use of time, and then decided to do what any player in Arcadia should be doing in his free time.
"Now we will practice a few skills and increase their grades. Since the Witch probably won't appear till around midnight, we have about 6 hours to utilise. While a training dummy would have been the best option, we don't have that now. So we will move to the next best option. That is to use our skills on the weaker monsters, enough to increase it by at least a grade."
I guess I will teach them a few special tricks to increase their grade faster. But then… this method wasn't well known even in the late game strategies. Better to do it off-stream, I suppose. I decided as I took the party outside to the nearest group of monsters we could find.
