Chapter 34 - Chapter Thirty Three - Poisoning

Long Teng looked around the potato wall curiously, his eyes sparkling at Xie Sen. "This tent is amazing! Where did you buy it? I want one too."

Maine glanced at Xie Sen, then at Long Teng, then closed his eyes and leaned against the tree trunk, speechless with the young child.

Bai Jiao, who had been examining the potato wall, chuckled upon hearing Long Teng's words, "This is a special sale item. There's only one left."

"Wow, what a shame!" Long Teng lamented.

Bai Jiao held his forehead. This guy really believed anything.

Xie Sen chuckled. It was a miracle that Long Teng hadn't been scammed all his life.

The space enclosed by the potato wall gradually quieted, only occasionally broken by the crackling of burning branches. It felt strangely cozy in the wild-beast-infested forest.

Soon, Maine and Long Teng, who were leaning against the tree trunk, opened their eyes first. Their eyes were bright, clearly not having fallen asleep.

From the right came the roars of wild beasts and the shouts of humans, gradually growing louder until even the sound of running footsteps could be heard.

Finally, the chaotic footsteps stopped not far to the right of the potato tent. Even through the potato wall, heavy breathing and the eerie howling of wolves could be heard.

Xie Sen and Bai Jiao also woke up. The four of them exchanged glances, their voices in tacit agreement, and remained silent.

"Damn it! How could so many beasts suddenly appear?" Rui Luo's voice came from the right, his voice thick with panic. "What do we do now? You, hurry up and take them!"

"Master Kes, Aqi was injured just now trying to protect you!"

"Yes, he was injured! They must have been chasing us because of the smell of blood on you. Why did you run over there alone?" "

Rui Luo!" The voice was filled with obvious anger. "Do you think Aqi won't be caught by the beasts if he leaves us? This is the wild!"

"I told you not to move around at night. Aqi chose a safe and secluded resting place, and you insisted on coming out?" Someone lost his temper.

Rui Luo's voice suddenly rose: "If I don't come out, how do you know if those people have followed my instructions and brought the hyena pack to Maine? You guys are masters selected by Dad himself, can't you even deal with the jackal pack?" "

Before we encountered the jackal beast, we also encountered the hairy boar beast and the thorn beast!"

"You have no experience and you didn't listen to Archie's advice. Maine's team and the hyena pack will definitely fight. The smell of blood will definitely attract a lot of wild beasts. You have to be not far away. Aren't you looking for death?"

Rui Luo was angrily: "Don't forget that your mission is to protect me, not to blame me. When I get out, I will tell Dad that you yelled at me."

A low voice spoke at this time: "Stop arguing, these jackals are about to take action, let's go together, Rui Luo, I know you are carrying a weapon, you are an A-level contracted beast master, you have to fight too."

"Huh, I have to take action." Rui Luo snorted, followed by the sound of weapons being unsheathed.

A short, high-pitched wolf howl signaled the start of the battle. The next moment, the sounds of combat replaced human voices. The jackal's cries and the clashing of objects blended into a ferocious cacophony.

Soon, a jackal was slain. The wolves' wails chilled the heart, heightening the tension. Occasionally, someone cried out in surprise.

"Bang..." The potato wall on the right was struck by the jackal's impact. The force was so great that a potato was torn from its roots, causing the entire wall to collapse inward.

Maine and Long Teng reacted almost simultaneously, each raising a hand to support the potato wall and slowly lowering it.

Xie Sen immediately mentally instructed the potatoes: shrink the other three potatoes, then recall them to the system.

"It's you!" Without the wall's shielding, the four were exposed to Rui Luo's team. Rui Luo was surprised to see them.

A cloud of gloom swept over his face. Compared to his team, Maine and the other four were in far better shape. If the match continued like this, he had no chance of winning.

"Help!" he shouted, his eyes darting as he ran towards Maine.

Maine frowned and nudged Xie Sen back, "Stand back."

Xie Sen took two steps back. Bai Jiao stood beside him, sprayer in hand, just in case.

Before Rui Luo could approach, Maine and Long Teng charged forward, kicking away the jackal heading their way and joining the fray.

Xie Sen and Bai Jiao stared intently at the battlefield. Bai Jiao suddenly remarked, "His dagger is coated with medicine."

Xie Sen followed his gaze and saw Rui Luo holding a delicate, sharp dagger, its blade gleaming with a faint blue light.

Rui Luo was the only member of their group uninjured. Unlike his usual gentle image, he possessed the background of an A-rank contracted beast master. His agility, coupled with the sharpness of his weapon, made it easy for the dagger to penetrate the jackal's body.

The wounded jackal quickly became unresponsive, and he seized the opportunity to strike directly at its vital point.

"This way of fighting is definitely much easier." Xie Sen glanced at the spray bottle in Bai Jiao's hand. "Would this potion work if applied to weapons?"

"It would, but not as effectively as spraying it directly in the face," Bai Jiao replied, tapping his chin against the battlefield. "They don't need it. A true warrior wouldn't resort to such tactics."

On the battlefield, Maine stomped on the last jackal, bent down, and plunged his dagger into its neck with a fierce, swift thrust, ending the fight.

Xie Sen examined Maine, confirming he was unharmed. He smiled, "It shouldn't be a problem if you don't have to use it against humans." Maine

finished off the jackal, unsheathed his dagger, and wiped the bloodied blade directly onto the wolf's hide. After cleaning it clean, he stood up and was about to sheathe it when a sharp pain shot through his left arm. Reflexively,

he swung sideways and slammed his fist into the side of Rui Luo's face. Rui Luo cried out in pain and took two steps back.

"Rui Luo, what are you doing?" Rui Luo's teammates stared at him in disbelief.

Startled, Xie Sen hurried toward Maine, Bai Jiao following closely behind him, a look of worry on his face.

Rui Luo covered his left cheek, glaring at Maine with resentment. He raised the dagger in his hand, a cruel yet triumphant smile on his face. "You'd better send a distress signal now, or else, even if you don't die, you'll be unable to move and can't continue competing."

"You're crazy!" Long Teng's eyes widened, completely bewildered by Rui Luo's train of thought; he and Maine had just saved them!

Maine glared at Rui Luo with a sullen expression. Quickly, he slashed through the hem of his clothes with his dagger, yanking off a long piece of cloth with a

powerful pull, which he then tied over the wound on his left arm. After tying it, Maine rushed over to Rui Luo before he could react, grabbed his right hand, which held the dagger, and pressed it hard against Rui Luo's left arm, forcing Rui Luo to slash his own left hand with his right hand.

"What are you doing?" Rui Luo screamed in panic, his voice cracking.

Maine's expression remained unchanged. He twisted his wrist, twisting Rui Luo's wrist. He cried out in pain again, and the dagger fell to the ground, where Maine kicked it away.

After doing all this, Maine released his grip and walked back the way he'd come.

"Maine, you're so brave! How dare you do this!" Rui Luo panicked. "Aqi, hurry, find some cloth to bandage my wound."

Aqi, the S-rank contracted beast master that Long Teng had greeted, tore off a piece of cloth from his clothes and bandaged the wound. "Don't you have an antidote for the poison in your weapon?"

"How would I have the antidote? Do I have to treat the beasts after I've injured them?" Rui Luo shouted, unwilling to give in. "Send a distress message. He and I will both give up. The Giant Lion Beast will definitely be mine!"

Maine had barely taken two steps when Xie Sen approached him. Seeing his blackened wound, his heart tightened. Without a second thought, he grabbed his hand and said, "Squat down. I'll suck the poison out of you."

Maine looked at him fiercely, his once-cold heart suddenly breaking open, a surge of warmth.

"No need," he said in a dry voice. He took two steps to the side, raised his hand, and leaned his head closer, sucking the poisonous blood from the wound himself, sucking in a mouthful and spitting out a few drops.

Xie Sen opened his bracelet and said, "I'll send a distress message."

"No," Maine said, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Xie Sen was anxious: "What if something happens?"

"It's not fatal," Maine said.

Xie Sen frowned and looked at Bai Jiao inquiringly. Bai Jiao said, "Let's take another look."

Bai Jiao waited until the blood Maine vomited turned bright red, then took out a bottle of water and a white pill and handed it to Maine: "Antidote pill."

Maine rinsed his mouth several times with water and swallowed the pill.

Seeing this, Rui Luo's face turned extremely ugly. He yelled at Archie: "Cancel the distress signal and suck out the poisonous blood from the wound!"

Archie said in a deep voice: "The signal has been sent and cannot be withdrawn."

"Master Kes, don't go too far. You deserve it. Everyone will be ashamed of your behavior!"

Rui Luo's breathing became violent with anger. His lips gradually turned black, his movements were stiff, and his words were like a cassette tape, paused: "No one is allowed to tell anyone!"

The drug took effect, and his whole body was in pain. He cried out in pain and said angrily: "Hurry them up. What are they doing? They are so slow to call for help. When I go back, my father will fire them all."

"I was wondering who is so arrogant. It turned out to be the young master of the Kes family." Qi Shao arrived with four of his men and sneered, "What a mess."

He looked at Maine: "What happened?"

Long Teng jumped out and told the story very quickly: "He is violating the rules!"

Qi Shao kicked Rui Luo: "He may be young, but he is quite courageous." He tilted his head and said to his men, "Take him back."

"Are you going to give up? If you do, give up quickly, otherwise we won't have to make another trip." He asked Maine.

"No." Maine's voice was weaker than usual, but his tone was firm.

Qi Shao waved his hand and left with a swift movement.

Bai Jiao examined Maine: "The poison is almost cleared, there is no danger to life, but you will feel very uncomfortable."

"It's okay," Maine opened his bracelet to look at the map, "Let's get out of here first."

Long Teng said: "I'll carry you!" Maine shook his head and refused.

Xie Sen asked Long Teng to carry the collapsed potato wall and followed Maine to another place where the trees were not so dense.

After arriving at the destination, Maine's movements were no longer as swift as usual. Xie Sen pulled his arm and made him sit down, and then collected firewood nearby.

When the firewood was thick enough, Xie Sen exchanged it for another potato and ordered the potatoes to form a tent as usual.

Long Teng looked at the potato wall that he had carried all the way at his feet, and then at the intact tent, and said in surprise: "Is this new? Didn't they say there was only one?"

Xie Sen said: "It's repaired." As he said that, he sat down next to Maine, but found that Maine's body was getting hot.

He turned his head and was about to say something when his hand was held by Maine, who shook his head gently at him.

Long Teng said "Oh" and began to rest next to Bai Jiao.

The surroundings became quiet. Xie Sen was worried about Maine and kept staring at Maine with his head tilted.

Maine's body temperature was getting higher and higher. He frowned and pulled down his collar with a little annoyance.

The beast pattern on his chest gradually emerged. Xie Sen raised his hand to wake him up and ask him about his situation. When his eyes passed by the beast pattern, his eyes suddenly widened.

It has changed!
