Chapter 36 - Chapter Thirty Five - Bond

Lieutenant General Yaben's son, Jay Yaben, arrived quickly after receiving Sun Mao's message. Like his father, he was tall and thin, with dark skin and strikingly bright black eyes.

He ran up to Sun Mao, his tone a mixture of disbelief and excitement. "Manager Sun, is the message you sent me true?"

Sun Mao nodded, "Yes."

Jay looked at the Giant Lion Beast, then at Maine, bewildered. "It's so amazing, every Giant Lion Beast Master's dream contract beast. You really won't form a bond with it?" "

Yes," Maine said.

Sun Mao patted Jay's shoulder and shook his head regretfully. "He can't do anything about it. With your family's strength, they should already know about Ruiluo, right?"

Jay nodded, feeling sorry for Maine. He wanted to comfort him, but didn't know what to say.

Maine, expressionless, reminded him, "What you need to consider now is whether you can make it submit and agree to form a bond with you."

Jay's expression grew serious, his aura suddenly sharpening, as if he were on the battlefield, ready for battle.

Maine pulled Xie Sen aside, and Sun Mao also stepped aside, leaving the field to Jie and Giant Lionmon.

Jie approached Giant Lionmon, who growled at him. Jie continued walking with a determined look, his eyes fixed on Giant Lionmon, as if challenging it.

Giant Lionmon stood up from the ground, lowering its front half. A low, rapid warning sound emanated from its throat, its muscles tensed, as if it were about to pounce.

Jie's face suddenly turned red, and he gritted his teeth. A layer of cold sweat instantly broke out on his forehead, and he stopped.

The growl in Giant Lionmon's throat intensified, and suddenly, it opened its mouth and roared loudly.

"Jie, retreat!" Sun Mao shouted.

Jie retreated with a gloomy face, sweat dripping from his forehead, and his frustrated expression made him look particularly frustrated.

Xie Sen let out a light breath. The atmosphere had been tense, and he subconsciously held his breath. Although Jie and Giant Lionmon hadn't fought, he felt as if they had.

When Giant Lionmon finally roared, he almost thought it was about to pounce on Jie.

Seeing Jie retreat, Giant Lionmon turned to look at Xie Sen. Xie Sen walked over and patted its legs. It lay on the ground again, like a giant cat, its previous ferocious appearance completely gone.

Sun Mao shook his head at Jie: "No, its rejection reaction is too strong, which is completely beyond my expectation. Under normal circumstances, even if the contracted beast is unwilling, there will be a trial process. It doesn't give any chance at all. It is very likely a sequelae of forced contract."

Jie looked at the docile giant lion beast, and looked at Xie Sen who was leaning against it with envy: "Is he its caregiver?" "

No, it doesn't have a special caregiver," Sun Mao shook his head and smiled, "His affinity is innate, and I envy him too."

Jie looked at the giant lion beast reluctantly, clenched his fists, and made a request: "I want to try it again."

Sun Mao pondered for a moment and nodded: "Okay, but you have to pay attention to safety. If the situation is the same as just now, remember to retreat in time to show weakness."

Jie nodded carefully. He had learned a lot about the knowledge of contracting. He knew very well that if he didn't retreat in the situation just now, the giant lion beast would really pounce on him.

This is how it works when forming a pact with a contracted beast. If the beastmaster's aura isn't enough to make it submit, and the beastmaster still wants to continue the pact, the contracted beast will attack without hesitation, beating the beastmaster up and mocking the beastmaster's wishful thinking with its strength.

Of course, a beastmaster who is confident in their fighting ability can definitely fight the contracted beast, and if they win, they can also make the contracted beast submit.

However, defeating a high-level contracted beast above Rank A is simply too difficult.

Jie's aura changed again, staring at Giant Lionmon and approaching it.

Giant Lionmon raised its head from its paws and looked at Jie, its muscles instantly tensing.

Xie Sen was about to stand up and walk to the side, but noticing the beastmaster's reaction, he reflexively rubbed its neck.

Giant Lionmon shook its tail, turned its head to look at Xie Sen, blinked its large eyes, and then tilted its head to the left, as if asking a question or being puzzled.

"What?" Jie stared at the scene in astonishment, turning to ask Sun Mao, "What does this mean?"

Sun Mao was also filled with surprise. He stared at Xie Sen, his eyes brightening dramatically. Seeing Xie Sen about to step aside, he quickly said, "Xiao Sen, calm it down. Jie, continue."

Jie, as before, approached the giant lion beast with a sharp aura. The giant lion beast didn't look at him, but tilted its head to look at Xie Sen. It wasn't until Xie Sen rubbed its neck again that it turned back to Jie.

Jie quickly reached the giant lion beast. The giant lion beast didn't even stand, simply staring at him, a low growl emanating from its throat.

Xie Sen leaned against the giant lion beast, his hand gently rubbing its mane. The giant lion beast's two reactions were in stark contrast, and he seemed to understand. The previous tilt of its head seemed to ask if it recognized the beast master before him.

He felt strangely moved by this speculation, but also felt a sense of heaviness.

When a contracted beast forms a bond with another, it signifies its devotion to that person, a lifelong commitment to the beast master.

But it asked him, and he rubbed its neck without understanding. In its understanding, it was his affirmative answer, so it no longer rejected Jie, but tried to feel Jie.

Jie's expression was excited. He reached out to unbutton his clothes, exposing his chest. Gradually, the beast pattern of the giant lion beast emerged on his chest.

He took out a dagger from his space backpack and without hesitation cut a vertical line in the middle of his chest. The length just covered the entire beast pattern. A vertical blood line immediately appeared on his chest, and bright red blood flowed down.

Xie Sen was stunned. Just as he was about to speak, the giant lion beast turned his head to look at him again.

He hesitated and dared not move, making him more certain that his previous guess was true. He looked into its eyes and gently touched its body: "Do you like him? Do you want him to be your beast master?"

The giant lion beast still looked at him and swept its tail.

"It trusts you completely!" Sun Mao said from the side, his tone filled with disbelief. "Anyone you approve of will earn its approval."

Seeing Xie Sen hesitate, he said seriously, "Its current condition is unstable. A pact is the best option for it. The beast master and the contracted beast have over 50% synchronization, a sympathetic connection. The beast master can help it recover as quickly as possible."

Xie Sen looked at Jie. Although he already knew the answer, he still asked, "Will you treat it well?"

"A beast master considers a contracted beast a brother, a lifelong loyalty!" Jie's expression was stern and his tone firm.

Xie Sen looked at the giant lion beast, which still turned its head to look at him, smiled, and reached out to touch its neck. "Thank you for your trust. Get well soon!"

He never wanted to see the giant lion beast's frenzy again.

The giant lion beast turned its head to look at Jie. Xie Sen took two steps to the side, observing its next move.

Jie took another step forward. At this distance, the giant lion beast could swallow him whole.

The giant lion beast opened its mouth, stretched out its huge tongue, and licked Jay's chest from bottom to top, wiping away all the blood on his chest.

Jie raised his hand and placed it on the center of the giant lion beast's forehead.

He closed his eyes and spoke in a loud and firm voice, "I swear to the Beast God that I will be loyal to you forever." A strange blush appeared on his face, but it soon faded. He opened his eyes and looked at the giant lion beast with joy, holding its head and nuzzling it affectionately.

Xie Sen looked at him and felt that his eyes were brighter and more lively.

"Congratulations," Sun Mao said sincerely as he stepped forward.

Jie said, "Thank you," he looked at Xie Sen, "Thank you, you are really amazing, I thought I would not succeed."

Xie Sen shook his head, indicating that you are welcome. He rubbed the giant lion beast's neck, not wanting Jie to focus on his affinity: "Maybe it's because I treated it several times when it was injured, so it trusts me extra."

Jie looked at the wound on the giant lion beast's head and said distressedly: "I will take good care of him." He hesitated, "You give it a name!"

Sun Mao smiled and looked at Xie Sen: "The names of contracted beasts are almost always given by the beast owners, but this time the situation is special, so it is also very suitable for you to give it a name."

Xie Sen rubbed the giant lion beast's neck, and thought of several names in his mind, but he didn't think they were good. His expression became tangled: "I can't think of it for the time being, so you can choose it!"

Jie said cautiously: "Your choice is more suitable. I will hold a contract banquet in three days. It will be fine as long as we can decide on a name by then. You can think about it slowly."

Xie Sen hesitated for a moment and nodded: "Okay, I will think about it seriously."

Jie paid the bill to the gold medal in a neat manner, and gave Xie Sen a tip of 200,000. He took the giant lion beast home with satisfaction.

Sun Mao placed a hand on Xie Sen's shoulder. "I suddenly feel like I got a great deal by transferring you to my company."

Xie Sen chuckled, "Does today count as overtime?"

"Yes, of course," Sun Mao raised an eyebrow. "You've made a great contribution to the company. I'll apply for a bonus on your behalf. If you hadn't appeased the Giant Lion Beast, there would have been a lot of trouble later."

Xie Sen, thinking of the word 'killed,' felt a wave of relief.

"What you said to Jie just now was good. You have a unique affinity. It's best not to let anyone know that you can get high-level contracted beasts to agree to a contract," Sun Mao warned sternly.

Xie Sen blinked. "I'm telling the truth, Manager Sun. How could I not understand what you said later? I'm not that capable!"

Sun Mao chuckled. "I said the wrong thing. Alright, you and your boyfriend go on a date!"

Xie Sen pouted, waved his hand, and quickly left District 4 with Maine in tow. He didn't want to stay and continue to be teased by Sun Mao.

Back at the apartment at exactly five o'clock, his and Maine's wristbands began pinging almost simultaneously. Xie Sen opened them, revealing three messages.

One was a reminder for the transfer of the 50,000 cash prize from the championship, another for the logistics of the B-level contract space deduction, and the third for the tournament results from the league organizers. The message contained only the specific names of the top three teams, along with an attachment showing everyone's scores.

Xie Sen sat on the sofa and leaned over Maine's message. "You have three messages too?"

"Remittance, A-level contract space deduction logistics, and tournament results," Maine asked.

Xie Sen lamented inwardly. If he had known earlier, he would have asked Dean Mu to list his contracted beast as A-level. The price difference between A-level and B-level space deductions was two hundred thousand!

He asked, "What are you going to do with your space deduction?"

"Sell it," Maine said without hesitation, looking at Xie Sen, "I have no use for it."

Xie Sen subconsciously lowered his voice: "Does the change in your beast pattern mean that the contracted beast has changed?"

"Yes," Maine nodded, "I have seen relevant explanations in extracurricular materials about beast patterns. This is a second awakening, a very rare situation."

Xie Sen hurriedly asked, "Will it affect your body?" Maine

saw his worried look and smiled: "Physical fitness will get better. The second awakening is similar to the sudden atavism phenomenon."

He paused: "At present, all the big families have ancestors who are almost all S-level contracted beast masters, but it is not necessarily inherited. The current head of the Kes family, Admiral Kes, is a flying lion beast."

Xie Sen was relieved. Hearing this, he couldn't help but say, "If they knew, they might come to you."

"I won't tell them!" Maine said lightly.

Xie Sen immediately promised, "I won't tell anyone!"

He opened the forum. "Rui Luo is such a horrible person! I'm going to post this now to let others know about his evil deeds. I don't know if it will do anything, but I'll feel bad if I don't do anything."

He entered the forum, before even creating a new thread, when he saw Rui Luo's name in the red title at the top.

"Shocking! The league is giving the Kes family no face at all. Rui Luo Kes has been criticized by the league!"

"Wow, he's been criticized by the league!" Xie Sen switched to the big screen and moved closer to Maine, who looked at the virtual screen on his wristband.

Xie Sen clicked on the post. Above it was a screenshot of the league's announcement at the top of the results list: "The following students have violated league discipline and are hereby criticized. They will be banned from the league for one year and given a demerit."

There were only four names in total, and the first one was Rui Luo Kes.

"Front row spectators, does anyone know the details?"

"How courageous! As far as I know, Qi Shao is the invigilator this year, and he actually dared to do something tricky!"

"...Looking at the champion list and the announcement list together, I suddenly feel like laughing. What should I do? A discarded pawn, an eyeball..."

"Can I run an ophthalmology advertisement now?"

"Then I'll run a brain science advertisement!"

"The two people above are ruthless, keep your vests!"

Xie Sen's mouth curled up, and he suddenly felt that the netizens were very cute. He tilted his head to look at Maine: "Do you mind if I tell others about the situation?"

"Of course not."
