Thea Lynch had a meeting in the morning, but she didn't mention it to Ian Preston last night because she thought... it shouldn't affect her work.
But unexpectedly, the night was intense, and she only slept in the morning.
When the alarm rang, Thea's chest heaved violently, and before she opened her eyes, her surroundings suddenly went silent.
Then, a weight fell on her shoulder, and the person behind her pulled her back into his arms.
Thea opened her eyes slowly, her vision still a bit blurry from lack of sleep, and her eyes sore.
Noticing she was awake, Ian said softly, "It's still early, go back to sleep."
Thea regained her senses, remembering her alarm was set for nine o'clock.
Hiss.
"I..." As soon as she spoke, her voice was still a bit hoarse.
Ian released her, got up and handed her a glass of water from the bedside table.
Thea sat up to soothe her throat, and after a while, she said, "I have a meeting this morning, need to go to the office."
