"Ma'am, I almost didn't recognize you."
As Katherine Irving finished speaking, Summer Shawcross couldn't help but roll her eyes at her.
"You nearly scared me to death..." She couldn't help but chime in, "Why act all mysterious!"
Doesn't she know that this can be terrifying!
"I'm not acting mysterious, I was worried you wouldn't see me. It's so dark here, there's not even a streetlight," Summer's words made Katherine show an innocent expression.
She wasn't pretending to be mysterious; the reason she held the flashlight towards her face earlier was because she was afraid in such darkness she wouldn't be seen.
Listening to Katherine's explanation, Summer turned her head again to glance outside the car, not expecting this place to be even more remote and deserted than she imagined.
Yet Katherine had been waiting here for her for an hour.
"I'm sorry, I didn't consider everything, asking you to do these things as a girl," Summer spoke to Katherine with some guilt.
